I have to add that I very much recommend The Witcher EE for PC to everyone who has any fondness whatsoever for the fantasy genre or RPGs. It is truly unique, and the musical score is incredible. It's not perfect--nothing is, but you owe it to yourself to give it a try.

The character looks like he's crossed between the vampire and human forms of Kain from the Legacy of Kain series; even the way he moves during stance. Attack animations look like someone got carried away with motion capture, but cool none the less. Why the hell does something attack everytime the player put away their weapons? "Jeezus Kryst!" No hair animation award here. Alice from Alice's Madness Returns has the best character hair animation ever made for a game. His is ok though.
@V3NOMXIII This is, without a doubt, a laptop. Though you have a fairly good dual core processor and a decent graphics card, I doubt you would be able to "play" The Witcher at all. I'm pretty sure it would run, yes, but the graphics and resolution would have to be so low that I don't think it would be an enjoyable experience. Admittedly, I do not own this laptop, so I suggest you give it a try-I may be off by a long shot. Good luck.

@V3NOMXIII If you're shopping for a gaming laptop, the best you can do (for the money) is an msi gt780dxr... the only gaming laptop better would be from alienware, but would cost considerably more. You could save a few hundred and get the gt780r, which would still max out games like The Witcher. But for newer games like Crysis 2, The Witcher 2, Battlefield 3, etc... you'll want the DXR model.
@TheSweetScience Witcher is really easy to max out... Oblivion or Gothic 3 is hits your hardware much harder.. He would probably be able to run the game fine, but its just my guess, never tried to play it on laptop

@V3NOMXIII You'd be able to play it on low to medium settings with a decent frame rate. Think good looking PS2 game, instead of PS3... It'd still be worth it in my opinion, as the story & gameplay are what really set this game apart. I'd recommend an upgrade before you moved on to Witcher 2 though... which you really should experience on high visual settings!

Im having trouble with windows 7 with Witcher. Supposedly you download a compatability patch so when you register your CD key you can finally get the "administraitor" from the witcher site..whatever you need off'em to run/launch the game. I'm not 100% about if ther patch is safe as it's oddly in Polish so wtf. Tried the "enable cookies" and disable "pop-up blocker" as suggested from em. Anymore and I'd be 100% vulnerable to hackers the fkers lol. Anyway if anyone knows how to solve it plz telme
this game is complicated, and the engine the game runs on is jagged and not smooth. It registers that your running into a wall from like a meter away! i thought it would be like assasins creed but no, its like world of warcraft. in my eyes i wasted my £20.

@alfdhan Eh, if The Cursed Crusade is anything like Atlus' other game, Demon's Soul, then that might be up your alley. I mean not necessarily open world in the way a sandbox game usually is, but it's open choice in the that so long as you're strong enough you take on whatever area and boss you like in whatever order. And at least in the case of Demon's Soul it had a very robust itemization system and character building, plus the combat is very fulfilling because of real time countering and such.

@MosQear Demon's Souls and the King's Field series are some of the best games to have ever come in existence. That sole reason I bought a PS3 was for Demon's Souls. I've already pre ordered Dark Souls too, and with ME3 and Skyrim coming out, this holiday is going to be amazing.

@alfdhan If you're looking for "classic" RPGs I would say Fable or Fable 2. If you want a "modernized" RPG where it's more civilized & there's guns, Fable 3. Other than that, TES comes to mind, as well as Baldur's Gate (if you don't mind 2Dish graphics) as well as NeverWinter Nights 1/2 (never played 2 myself, but 1 was amazingly fun and had good graphics for it's time. If you buy the remastered version (gold?) it has great graphics compared to the original) if I think of more I'll PM you
@djoledrable For the most part, it's very restricted. You can do side missions, and they may take you to a new area, but if you ever want to progress further to new acts to get weps, new towns, whatever, you have to do the main story.

@MosQear Demon's Souls and the King's Field series are some of the best games to have ever come in existence. That sole reason I bought a PS3 was for Demon's Souls. I've already pre ordered Dark Souls too, and with ME3 and Skyrim coming out, this holiday is going to be amazing.

@alfdhan If you're looking for "classic" RPGs I would say Fable or Fable 2. If you want a "modernized" RPG where it's more civilized & there's guns, Fable 3. Other than that, TES comes to mind, as well as Baldur's Gate (if you don't mind 2Dish graphics) as well as NeverWinter Nights 1/2 (never played 2 myself, but 1 was amazingly fun and had good graphics for it's time. If you buy the remastered version (gold?) it has great graphics compared to the original) if I think of more I'll PM you

its seriously the best RPG game ive ever played so far, beats fallout 3 and even the elder scrolls series.
it has the best graphics in ANY game so far, meaning u need a really powerful PC to run it, but DUDE! its fucking gorgeous! ;D
as for the gameplay, it is brilliant and much better than the witcher 1 :)

@djoledrable For the most part, it's very restricted. You can do side missions, and they may take you to a new area, but if you ever want to progress further to new acts to get weps, new towns, whatever, you have to do the main story.

@mattie6384 Maybe even more restricted, but essentially yes. But the Witcher has much more atmosphere. It actually feels like you're in a medieval world, unlike Fable which openly makes fun of itself repeatedly.
