  • Does it count backwards/down as well or is it like a car in that it will only go up??

  • if you generate more power than you consume, the power company is REQUIRED BY LAW to pay you for your surplus energy.

  • theres a guy that lives around here with solar panels and the electric company usually ends up paying him instead cause his left over power goes back out into the grid or w.e

  • i still got my face.............

  • We have the digital smart meters here in most of TX now which are read remotly. Not sure if it makes the meter go backwards like the analog ones.

  • what is it and how much?

  • There are many methods to generate electrical voltage, in MO net metering pays cash as well as credits now. That is how to legitimize and bring safe operation into the equation. If the grid goes down your connection to it is instantaneously disrupted. The first step is to reduce load in every situation. If the majority of people do not produce power 25yrs from now there will be no grid to connect to, not one we could afford. Power goes back out after you pay for it anyway, tension screw.

  • I wonder if I were to cheat and get caught if te law would accept my answer is that I saw it on youtube and would that fly in court as I am ordered to pay a $2500 minium fine ? If you use the power you pay for it. If you eat out and only eat half of your food do you only pay half or 100% ?

  • Even with the newest and safest types of meters there is a way to stop paying for electricity you use:

    1. Tamper with the meter (not really important how or the results)

    2. If you can, bypass it altogether

    3. Wait for the meter guy to come and report you

    4. In jail you don't pay for electricity

  • Whether or not legal depends on state regulations and utility policy. To source power back into the grid would require a synchronous inverter as well as utility required protective devices. By the rate power was being sourced, that must be one hell of a solar array.

  • Were I live if you put a windmill up, any power the windmill generates the power company credits you back. Only problem is,theres a city ordanance that states you cant put up a windmill. Can you say crooks in office. We could never put up large satilite dishes either, that made us pay for cable till small dishes came out. Crooks!

  • if you need some money to pay for you bills check out my page if you can rate tv ad's you will get paid for it

  • @stayblazed. I think this guy is pretty smart. He is getting power for free, are you?

  • Hate to mention this, but Nevada Power can trace that meter number.

  • @MichaelJGrant are you stupid? it´s legal,he is puttin power pack to the system same is made hear in germany ,totaly legal thats why he don´t worry´s ;)

  • @MichaelJGrant It is called net metering, perfectly legal and smart. He is using solar pannels to generate power and he is selling what he is not using to the power company. Lots of states, power companies and the federal governement are giving incentives to customers to install solar pannels.

  • i use to read these things. theres not many ways to actually beat it. like idk where ppl got the idea of turning them upside down...id still read them normally and they wud come up too high every time and the ppl wud get pissed cuz of like a 1000 dollar electric bill. and i wud type into the itron "meter upside down."

  • instead of paying power company, he just paid the solar panel people the money saved. So long term he spends the same money, Just gives it to someone other than power company. The more you can save the more the product cost there by virtually eliminating all cost savings in power. I found that out when I went to replace my heat pump with the best SEER rating. The money I would save in energy the heat pump dealer wanted by selling product at higher cost, thus, you dont win..the product mfg's win.

  • @zash008 The cost of solar panels and their maintenance is much higher than paying the power company. China tried it and, even with government subsidies, found it too expensive. So much for solar. Plus, only temperate climates could use solar panels. Winter snows would cover them up, making them useless for a large part of the year.

  • @zash008 a heat pump...aka a fancy ac unit. not much savings. u are just swapping the type of energy u are buying.

  • @zash008 Look up net metering.

  • how do you makem go backwards just by putting it on after shutting it off. to me id just shuttem off and turn it on next day

  • You must have a tremendously huge solar panel to make the meter go backwards at that speed.

  • Comment removed

  • Fantastic! That must be one of the coolest feelings going '')

  • How much did your solar unit cost to put in???

  • @maitreyaisthebeast i am intrested in the solar power set up also, :)

  • @zatmenow I read somewhere that it would take you 15 years to start saving money....so the cost of the system must be tremendous!

  • @maitreyaisthebeast well i could just use it on my Ham radio room, to power my radios and equipment,

  • @maitreyaisthebeast talk about miss informed..

Check my other Videos, Ills how you the cost and the savings... Here is a Hint, Im already over 1/2 done paying for it, and its been just a year

  • Thats not cheating the Electric Company Out of Power, thats running on solar and giving the excess electric back to the grid, so you are selling back power to the electric company.

  • we got digital smart meters here on vancouver island, so...

  • Can you make a video of your meter running solar going to power line power8)

  • hide the serial number ;) :d:d

  • my dad used to work for abb but recession struck and he quit from a manager to make his own business of selling and installing solar panels for heating and electricity. thing is i thought abb made machines that made paper by the way if your wondering we live in ireland

  • You should Try living in my state. They will not allow you to hook up anything to the grid and if you even atempt to do so they will have cops knocking your door and pull your meter for good .

  • @lockecole21 You can thank the EPA and DOE for that one.

  • Youre not cheating them out of anything. You are putting power back on the grid. If you arent getting paid for it you are the one getting cheated. Also had you really been doing something wrong you would have been busted from them reading the bar code on the meter.

  • Like the system you have, what site or which brand of panels do you have..email @ marksolis01@yahoo.com....thanks

  • Why is there a lock on the meter? Where I live locks are installed only after tampering. Just asking , not accusing.

  • @MCFD1127 In most states, the new houses come with your meter locked, its not just for tampering with the meter, but to help save life's, too many idiots don't know what they are doing and end up and the wrong side of 220...

  • @EQDruid The meter on my house isn't locked, it's got an anti-tamper crimp thingy on it that you could twist off with your hand. Of course if you twist it off, someone at the power company will want to have a word with you.

  • @EQDruid actually >< it's 240

  • @EQDruid We have locked smart meters in Canada. Hydro companies are afraid we'll decide we want to get free hydro somehow.

  • @MCFD1127 Why wait until someone steal to lock a meter. Lock it before and everyone is happy

  • or you can just turn your meter upside down that whole glass unit come out and can be put in upside down for free power till a meter reader comes alone, brillo pad or a penny also put it inside...

  • @stayblazed954 Sure and if someone listens to your advice and kills themselves in the process... Which is also Illegal, I have seen many Electrical fires because dumb asses try and pull this. IF your not a Electrician I would not try and pull this Micky Mouse crap. I'm guessing your not too bright?

  • @stayblazed954 Another problem is that a lot of meters are broadcasting your usage, so the guy that reads them is phased out.

  • @heliarche that's why we need the unions

  • @A1986Ge1995 The electric company around here is busy enough without having to read meters.

  • @stayblazed954 I work for a power company and your suggestions are a good way to get you face blown off

  • great. You sell them your power at $.02/kwh during the day and they sell it back to you at $.10/kwh at night.. False economy

  • @UpcomingJedi Don't know where you live, but in cali its 1 for 1... Here in Nevada you earn credits, so if you make more then you use you get Credits, which is also 1 for 1.. so if I make 50 KWH over what i use, and the next month I use more then what I produce I dip into my Credits.. which is also 1 for 1. I'm guessing your the type of person that thinks the cup is half empty.

  • @EQDruid Hi Leon here from Canada and I would like to know what kind of how many solar panels you have on your system and what kind of inverter. Power here has double and I run fish pumps and grow light around 1000 watt and my power bill is around $1000 per month. I want to kick some ass so can you please send me your contact info to my email at lrockets@shaw.ca and I will call you to get the info I need and to have you as a mentor in the setup once I buy everything,

  • @EQDruid How much were the solar panels and materials to make this build? I'v been wanting to do this for years but I just recently got to where i could afford such a thing.

  • @EQDruid he´s just an idiot, you can save the power for the night and even if the buy it back,it´s cheaper at night :D

  • @kunkunn123 You may want to call on that myth..

  • @UpcomingJedi first of all the electric power is cheaper at night and 2.did you ever heard of batteries? a batteri to save the energy for the night? i don´t think he is that stupid and by the way in germany, even big company´s do it the exact same way and it works

  • In Romania they put a cricket on the disk , not to go backward.

  • Your not cheating them out of power, your giving them energy for free.

  • Inverted phase eh?? Some old welders do the same thing. It appears ur switch from off to on in the vid, and why does ur friend whisper: 'It's ready' near the start?

  • @AxelWiresmith He says we are ready, because it was the first time we hit the switch to the DC disconnect. It was a moment where we did it right, or fried 30k worth of equipment =p

  • How many panels or Kilowatts are you cranking out. In Minnesota, The power company has to take and buy ALL of the extra power you produce by law. You could build acres of it next to a power pole (you have to own the land) and backfeed power in for astounding paychecks every month. If you can afford the land, equipment, and security. Copper thieves love these unprotected sites. Govt. probably would give you some dough for using green energy too.

  • @DWRich17 43 Panels, 9.2 Kilowatt system... Generates about 45 to 65 KWH a day.

  • After you switched over the meter kept spinning forwards even though you were on 100% solar. So what was drawing all that power during that time?

  • @kalijasin It takes about 2 to 5 mins for the inverter to "Sync" with the phases of the AC.

  • @EQDruid so its spinning around while not using any electricity? If that's so then the electric company is charging you for electricity you are not using.

  • how long will i take for you to get a return to the positve on your investment

  • But why is it 'cheating' ? oh, I see, you just did that to get views... I'm glad I did view, cuz your reply to BEESCHLOPPER is classic!

  • YOU FUCKING IDIOT I HOPE YOU DIE

  • @BSCHOPPER8787 I understand your pain Jesse, But don't take it out on the rest of the world just because your mother fucked half then men in your trailer park. I mean come on, you can still grow up like your old man and blow the other half...

  • Im new to solar panels. Is it legal to use the plug and play grid tie inverters? Have you had any trouble with your electric company finding out you are using a GTI?

  • @mgyabes1985 I don't know much about the Plug and play inverter's, but i would suggest contacting a Electrician in your area.

  • Now this is bullshit! You know it man!! This is the same crap that Ferris Bueller tried to pull on his friends ferrari !! ***YELLING*** Your not pullin' this mule shit on me brother John!

  • @Metalunique OK... Explain how this is bullshit? Bull shit is trying to fix a 6 year old R1...

  • @EQDruid My R1. Isn't she a beauty?...Wait a minute, maybe I can do the same on her and turn back the miles that she so gracefully put on. You know, we might be on to somethin'!

  • THATS AWSOME!!!!

  • In Texas, you can sell electricity back to the power company. But they only reimburse you for the fuel cost, they will not reimburse you the full cost because they like to charge taxes, crap for poor people, transmission costs, and other stuff. They charge consumers 8-12 cents per KWH , but they will reimburse you for only 3-4 cents per KWH. What was the cost of your solar system, and the required switching equilment? What is your estimated return on investment?

  • @graverobber35 I heard in most states they Do NOT reimburse they just give you a negative bill or a bill that says none. Essentially they can steal electricity from those who generate it and are still tied to the grid.

  • that is why they replacet all old meters with digital ones

  • Comment removed

  • @koolcats159 Have you done a research on that digital meter. You might find it is what they call a smart meter. It has a radio in it that sends information to a central computor. I have read "they" can tell what is using electricity in your hyome and can turn it off without coming to your house. If your meter has an FCC notice and a wattage memo on it, it has a transmitter in it.

  • Can you make a video of your meter going backwards by solar then normal

  • @Nickrox48 thought I just did....

  • Can`t they trace with that serial number on the meter?

  • @conifergreen2 its not illegal

  • @marcjtdc Glad to hear it is legal.

  • @conifergreen2 why? So i can be punished by the MAN for doing something that is completely legal?

  • Comment removed

  • @GMELECTRONICS365 Just wanted to say thank you for reading deeper into this thread. I know you removed your comment, but this is perfectly legal.

  • @EQDruid Yeah jumped into conclusion quick but then i read the whole description . This is good stuff.

  • don't get sucked into solar--if you are in cold climates for get it.Stick with wind 5 times better.

  • The installers buy the solar panels so cheap from China then put a 400 % mark up on top of installation. If you want solar buy them direct yourself and have a electrician install it.The same goes for the smaller windmills people have in their backyard.$450-500 from Jaycar and Dick Smith Electronics.Direct from China $120.

  • @reticulan5 Isn't that how the free market system works for you capitalist Yanks?

  • @bubbaw2822 I'm afraid thats how most of the world works my friend not much people like you and me can do about it at this late stage.I always try to buy from my own country(Australia) first if not from U.S,Canada and Europe. But since everything seems to be made in China and India I will buy direct online instead of giving 3-5 x as much for someone to order it, pocket the difference.

  • FU

  • @deweyman44 and the horse you rode in on? Really, that's the best you can come up with...

  • so if i have electric water heater and electric heaters it can do those to i wanna run it by magnegtic motor and generator

  • Comment removed

  • @PREPAREFORTHEKING He also said tho shall not covet thy neighbors wife... Yet everyone's doing her too...

  • How long is it going to take you to get your investment money back?

  • @254tom Probly 1-2 months depending where you buy them. and how many people live in your house.

  • @254tom 3 years

  • how many kilowatts does a house really need to run everything in the household all at once

  • @skullin67 at least 3kw, usually 4 or 5

  • @skullin67 Depends on what you got. Most people use up 1-2 kw a day in just lighting alone. So its crucial if you want to go all solar, no grid hookup, to have low wattage everything. Like, for example, with lighting .. led instead of cfl or incandescent.

  • My problem is I'd need 5000 kWh per month, 3700 minimum. I can only imagine the amount of solar cells wouldn't be small for that.

  • I'm paying ......$400.00 to $700.00 per month...in the state of Maryland.....IT IS KILLING ME...I live in a 3 bed room town house....BY-MY-SELF

  • @radiodiary1 From what your saying and how power companies are increasing their energy charges.I can see a world wide push to force the people to going solar/wind.Then when thats complete,The energy companies will charge us somehow like 10x more for just being connected.I dont see how they would allow everyone to go solar and not receive revenue. In Australia the government pressured people to install huge water tanks and farmers dams. Then they charged for stopping run off's going into catchments

  • @reticulan5 The system of money is outdated and clouds everything.

    Money is the problem.

  • HAHAH FUNNY, THATS WHAT HAPPEN TO ME WHEN I CONNECT MY SOLAR PANELS, THE NEEDLE GOES BACK.

  • @wjestick No free Lunch? Guess you never learned to fish.

Solar is not a scam, Maybe the person you were buying from tried to pull a fast one over on you, but with a little research and some effort, it is really cost effective and a great investment.

  • @EQDruid

That is how a ponzi scheme always works. Remember the housing bubble? You got in early, and that's great. But the economic argument does not add up, subsidies make it work. The US government is out of bailout money, so anyone getting in now risks getting stranded.

Question, how long would it take for you to generate enough power to pay for the system without a discount or subsidy.

  • @wjestick without all the tax rebates and such, Cost on this system would be 24 to 30k, so 10 to 13 years. but with a little maintenance ( cleaning the things every 3 months ) I get free Electricity for life.

  • @EQDruid

Leaving the politics aside, that isn't a bad deal, provided there is enough food and water to be found where you are, you could be onto a good thing.

  • @EQDruid Thank you, i'm gonna look into this.. peace!! vote Ron Paul2012

  • @wjestick but doesnt it still cut your power bill???

  • @wjestick wait a second... Didn't I pay those taxes too? Isn't what I am doing sociably more acceptable then lets say, popping out 12 children with no father just to get more unemployment and welfare? No free lunches... LOL.. tell that to the people that got subsidence housing... I live in a 500K house yet my neighbor got to move in for free on the tax payers dime, because she couldn't keep her nasty clam shut....

  • @EQDruid

I wasn't picking on you. You tried to make a buck, good for you. I was just pointing out that you will do well to hang onto it after what is coming. On the plus side, when the power cuts start you will have a few KW to play with.

  • @EQDruid lol nasty clam

  • @EQDruid Hay scum bag this is your nasty neighbor my classmate came across this video. So what you have a 500K home you still try to see my nasty clam before you go out. next time you look at me in that way I am going to let you know how nasty I am.

  • @krthomsen1 wait your admitting to having 12 bastard kids and a nasty vag?GROSS! that means you spent almost 10 years prego(a Master Degree) and your still going to school?good for you.I wouldnt say your clam is nasty as much as a finely tuned baby producing machine.Tell him your hoohaw produces more energy/money through 12 baby lives in their lifetime plus revenue from child support to actual support needed is more than his silly solar witchcraft pays out/saves through his electric company lol

  • @EQDruid Right on!

  • @wjestick : This is the way ALL governement programs work. Of course tax money is used...DUH! The profits don't just go the Solar company, who should make a profit like any other private enterprise. All I am doing is creating my own solar energy company and selling it back to the public utility, so they can subtract it from my electric bill. I also reduce the carbon footprint and air pollution.

  • @wjestick I don't give a shit about any of that. As long as I can sustain myself..and teach others to do the same..is all that matters. If you want to sit there decrying the system..and I'm with you...but to not do ANYTHING to help is simple insanity.

  • The way the power companys works with solar is what ever extra energy you create with your solar panel system the energy company will pay you for that energy, now not only do you not pay for energy anymore but the gov/energy company pays you for your extra power. So yea solar is an asset and a great investment, All the nay sayer are under-educated in this feild.

  • @Kronn1 unless you live in some place like say washington state where the weather is nasty 85 to 90 percent of the day, mix that with the stupid idiots who do not know they have to clean them here, and you have zero return. unless you live on the east side of the state in the dessert then you might be okay. However these basic panels do not do a damn thing here, you really need the nice high grade 45 to 50 K dollar neodymium cells which for the most part are not avail. to the public.

  • @Kronn1 Also I think that if we did at least use Solar as a nice primary in the southern states with a lot of sun it would reduce the drain, and strain on the power infrastructure. But watch out for those crazy green peace people who say that Solar blinds birds, and causes them to die, also green peace says wind turbines cause eagles to die, and hydro electric is bad for fish, nuclear even though you can produce it safely we dont so we can make bombs, but even then they say it will kill

  • @Ilovewinter "nuclear...safe"

    one word my friend, JAPAN

okay let me try a different word, CHERNOBYL

  • @Kronn1 zero point energy I have even heard is draining the soul of the earth for our energy needs that was a statement by some nut wing who thinks its terrible. So cant really win but hey we can at least use the least harmful methods right. :)

  • @Kronn1

Education starts with you. You get paid by the government for your solar energy. The government has no money, they tax it from you, get it. The only people making money off this scam are the corporations selling solar panels.

The government, cronies and corporations that own them sell these products. Any money paid out is just stealing money from somebody else to pay you. And there is another scam, that steals from you to pay others. Only the corporations make real money.

  • @wjestick Cup half empty? The halves and halves not? Corporations are in it to make money, so they can pay off their employees and so that their company can grow and hire more people, like you and me. Viscous cycle, I know.. I am all for bartering system, but unfortantly if it wasn't for corporations, we would have never seen cars, cell phones, computers, ect ect. Hard to trade a fish for a car...

  • @Kronn1 Im in Ireland and we have a lot of wind power,if i hook up solar we get nothing from the supply board for producing extra power, some people have put solar on there roofs here, but just to heat water in the summer.

  • @Kronn1 i before e except after c.

  • kinda cool but not worth waiting a minute and a half

  • solar is the best

  • solar is the biggest scam going! unless your doing it cause you believe the global warming stuff...its not worth it. Take two life times to pay its self off.

  • @ttconvert2001 ur an idiot....

  • @TheVideoVector your an asshole. don't need to be insulted randomly. so fuck off!

  • jepordy

  • if ur generating power ur not ripping any 1 off, but check ur bill, they aint payin u back on the same scale ur payin them :<{

  • @einsteinzdeary Here in Nevada I get a Kilowatt Credit ( 1 for 1 ) for everything I generate and don't use during that month, every state is different so do some research.

  • not cheating

  • okay the thing is, it said " cheating the company out of power" not stealing power from the company, becuase when you put electricity back into the grid, the power companies now have to pay you for it, so you make you own juice, and the extra you put out get's saved or sold, therefore the power companies no longer make money off of you, and are cheated out of their profits

  • You arent stealing anything. You are feeding power back into the energy grid, and getting credit for it. Nice fail.

  • HEY, there is no free lunch.. lets just try to cut the fat cats out of the picture as much as possible.

  • @2012DJohn In a dam, the control of the flow of water sets the RPM for the generator. The RPM does not change because your air conditioner is on. Load no or no load the RPM does not change. The only way to slow the wheel is to reduce the water flow. So wow it seems your statement about me is only you talking about yourself.

  • ...OMG...LOL...as I said, until you grasp the concept of "NO FREE LUNCH" in the physics of producing energy, you will never understand. Yes, turning on your A/C will not slow down the turbines in the Hoover Dam. But turn on a million A/C’s and it will slow down. The water behind a dam has a fixed amount of potential energy, and the output of electricity from the generator is wholly dependent on the volume of water (size of pipe) and the height difference between the intake and the turbine.

  • @bridgetroll9 The bigger the electrical load, the more water you need to spin the turbine and maintain the same RPM.....period. You keep saying the water just flows through without any resistance because it's not physically connected. BUT the generator has a tremendous magnetic field which produces the resistance to slow the turbine.

  • @bridgetroll9 Look at an electric car....when you step on the brake it is putting an electrical load on the driving motor which turns it into a generator. There is no mechanical connection to the wheels, and yet magically it slows the car down.... :-) ..... Back to the dam.....the slowing turbine then acts as a valve to slow the flow of water. The increased physical energy needed to turn the shaft to overcome the magnetic resistance is basically the same principal for a small home generator.

  • @bridgetroll9 If you turn on your A/C...the generator will immediately slow down unless you increase the throttle.....meaning you are burning more fuel.....meaning you are increasing the input of energy ( this usually happens automatically via speed control) It all goes back to the same concept....if you want more energy out....you have to put more energy in....NO FREE LUNCH

  • @bridgetroll9 You can argue differently until the cows come home.....but you'll always be wrong as long as you believe that “Load or no load the RPM does not change”.....and as I see in your other posts.....some people just don't get......but please by all means......feel free to re-write the laws of physics.

  • @realmadrid12712 Gravity does not become less or more efficient. It does not take more gravity to move heavier objects. Diesel does not move a piston. Air moves the piston. Something moves the air. Air does not move on it's own. The air moving is energy not the Diesal fuel. Burning Diesal turns it into poisonous chemicals not electricity. Remove the magnets from the generator and let me know how efficient no electricity is.

  • @2012DJohn The generator does keep the same RPM. So obviously if I turn my AC unit on the RPM stays the same. So obviously if I shut it off the RPM stays the same. Gravity is doing all the work. Remove gravity from Hoover Dam and it's useless. Just like most people choose to be. Gravity is free last time I checked. Someone want to verify that for me?

  • If the only thing contained inside the vacuum of a light bulb is the mass of the filament and metal. Where is the heat and light before you turn it on? Where does the light and heat come from while it is on? Where does the light go when you turn it off? The heat slowly disappears. If heat was energy it would disappear instantly like the light does. We can remove the mass from the vacuum but we cannot remove the space inside the vacuum. Mass is effected by energy. Mass is not energy.

  • @irright A generator in a dam is spinning at a constant RPM. Gravity is the only input of energy into the system and is a constant. If the loads connected to the coils created resistance on the wheel, it would not be possible to keep the RPM constant. Kinetic energy of a physical object cannot be transferred without physically hitting something. The wheel spinning does not touch the apparatus that has the load. Heat in electrical systems is energy being destroyed not created.

  • @bridgetroll9 ....wow.....until you grasp the concept of how generators work....you really should keep your mouth closed. Here's a clue...you answered your own question by saying "it would not be possible to keep the RPM constant".....Remember....there is no free lunch.....if you increase the load on a generator.....you must increase the energy input to maintain the increased output......if you don't....then the RPM will decrease......simply no way around it.

  • HA HA HABMAN2009 is worried that his job will be eliminated but if he is that stupid I would be scared of someone of that caliber controlling my home power.

  • So I guess MidAmerican energy should be arrested for building windmill farms because that is stealing too, right. HABMAN2009, you might want to go take a course at a university or community college for alternative power you stupid $%@K, it's called GRID TIED, and there is also OFF THE GRID.

  • That little issue with calling the police about the video of the person with the solar grids and the meter running backwards. Now I would love to see the results of that arrest, LMFAO!!!! The Freaking idiot that called the police in the first place should be arrested for being so friggin stupid( he probably works for the utility company), wait he would be too stupid to work for the utility company unless maybe he was cleaning toilets . BWHAHAHAHA

  • Nobody is stealing ANYTHING, you can purchase solar grids and wind turbines legally. Utility companies have to buy back any energy that you don't use, it's a federal law. Would be cool as hell getting a CHECK from the utility company instead of a BILL, wouldn't you agree?

  • @classifiedsecretinfo who said they were stealing from their company?

  • @EQDruid

Exactly Right, its putting power back into the grid, its not stealing, its contributing.
