Thanks alot for this video. I never really cook anything except pasta or simple things for myself. I had 6 skinless legs (fairly small) and I cooked them up using your directions. I just put frank's red hot sauce on 3 of them and regular bbq sauce on the other 3. I should have marinated them but I was lazy. I broiled 10 minutes each side (basting them inbetween like you said) then set to bake for 15 minutes. The chicken turned out perfectly. Thank you very much! I'll be watching your other vids

@OrthodoxVideos When you are broiling (as in this recipe), you set your oven to "Broil," not to a specifc temperature. you can find the complete recipe write-up, including the use of the oven, if you click "more info" or the down arrow while the video is playing. Thanks for your comment!
@OrthodoxVideos broiling is grilling. set it to about 218 degrees and just keep an eye on them whilst they cook, you'll know when they're ready since you have to keep the door open anyway! thanks betty! the food looks delicious!
I made your hot wings for the new year and everyone loved them. Your husband is a luck man. But besides that; I wanted to make your hot legs but I was curious when broiling the legs if you leave the oven door open the four inches as you do with the wings. TY- Matthew
That's a good question! I don't, but you may. If the cooking time is pretty long, I close the oven door while broiling. When it's just a short time, I want to keep the broiler heated, and I also want to keep an eye on what's broiling!
I really love anything spicy! I like your creative-ness with name, hot legs! lol I will definitely try it to night! Thanks so much for posting this! I really would like to see more of this kind of dishes!
@bettyskitchen, if the drumsticks is frozen, do you have to thaw them first? What temperature does chicken cook at? I don't think you broil chicken. And how long does it take to cook?
@OrthodoxVideos Yes, you will need to thaw the drumsticks. The temperature is the "broil" setting of your oven. You must cook them until they are cooked all the way through. Just keep checking for doneness. They will be delicious!
Betty my question is why do my chicken legs split and skin break apart as they roast? I do try to make sure they are done but I like the intact cooked leg as opposed to a split leg .. although they are still tasty they are at times dry.. any tips? thanks Shawn P.S I keep asking lots of questions and you have answered them all you my dear have the patience of a saint..(LOL)
It is not uncommon for chicken legs to split, as you described. If they are dry, then they have probably been cooked too long. Just make sure they are done (not overdone), and they probably won't split or be dry! Thanks for your question!
I remember that you wanted recipes for dark meat chicken, and that is part of the reason I included the legs. I hope you enjoy them! Thanks for commenting!
love your outfit betty!! im saving this recipe for the football games :) especially Superbowl. what are your plans this weekend? have you decorated for halloween? thanks for your videos :)
Hi Ben! Thanks for your compliments! Actually, I'm going on a train ride on Sunday to show all of you Kentucky in the fall. They serve a delicious Kentucky-style dinner, and I will be showing your that in the future. I don't decorate much for Halloween, but I will be making some Halloween cookies and other treats! Have a great day, Ben!
I like doing them both at the same time. I like the wings better, but you get a more substantial meal from the legs, and you might as well just mix up enough marinade for both! Good luck with your hot wings and legs!
I felt so bad for Betty when these people had written such disgusting comments. Leave Betty alone!
Btw, those chicken legs look delicious, Betty! :D

I prefer chicken leg to chicken wings as a superbowl food. It take less to make you full and they taste better,
And they have less bones to worry about disposing. Great tutorial.

Thanks for your comment! You make a great point! It is a lot of work to get the meat from chicken wings! Chicken legs provide much more!
