hello my name is maria and I live in Bogotá, Colombia, wanted to know how I can get a paper log maker for use in a project. I appreciate if someone help me my email is dmclavij@gmail.com thanks
@Ladyhawkwright you can get away with a day or two as long as you agitate the paper a few times over the soaking period. Some people stir the paper in warm-hot water so it breaks down in an hour or two but since this is putting in more energy it kind of defeats the purpose IMO.
Whats important is not to leave the water in longer than about a week as there is the risk of bacteria developing and safety is always first. Best of luck ^_^
Put your pulp into a form lined with dividers made from aluminium cuttings, place board on top, drive over with car, 200 hundred bricks in one minute.
Burning newspaper is BAD for the environment!!!!!! They give off toxic gases which are poisonous for all of us. The inks and dies in the paper are bad for you. Not eco-friendly.
@scidhumouse You are a fucking retard.. What "toxic gases" are released? This is the standard catch phrase for environmental douche-bags with no knowledge of chemistry.
@EcoBold Thanks very much. They take a while to dry and we're stocking them up for the winter so I'm not sure when I get to burn the fruits of my labors but we've used them last winter and they're very good. I wouldn't be surprised if there are videos of them burning somewhere on the tubes.
@FuchsiaRose09 It is quite fun... until your hands start hurting. The handles aren't very comfortable but I wrapped cloth around them and it was fine after that =D
@TamerlanePNR They're great things. I saw a video that says its a Japanese thing but my mam is convinced that her uncle used to have one so the jury is out on who's idea it is!
Add bleach to the mixture, then mix it with a chopping blade on a drill... that will mash the paper better and make the bricks burn hotter and slower

Thanks so much! I got mine all fixed up and stuck them in front of the fan and they dried within 3 days and burned for 3+hours! (You totally rock!)
ps. somebody in china said to use the water from boiled rice and it acts like a gluing agent. it really helps hold them together!

Quick question: How long does the paper need to stay in the water before doing this?

@Ladyhawkwright
Here's a tip for you...
I use a pain mixer drill bit which I picked up at a hardware store.
Just connect it to a corded drill and mix away! It pulps the paper in less than 2 minutes.
Hope that helps.

newspaper pulp did u use a paper shredder or did you tear the newspaper by hand. does it have to be very fine? thx for sharing,

@1virtues79 I used a shredder for the first bit but I realized that the blade would very quickly get worn out so I did it by hand from there ^_^

@scidhumouse Thats not true, the ink breaks down during the soaking process. It's no worse than burning wood.
