  • You are an amazing rider but, I think you are being a little immature blocking all these people just because they criticized you, if you can't take the criticism, then don't allow comment availability.

But as I said, you are an amazing rider :) Keep up the good work.

  • haha omg you people are pathetic, you don't need to pay a lot to be a good rider, just determined and to love what your doing, I've been riding since i was two and i now event...I'm good but I also love what I'm doing and I love this sport...everyone is good at something, so don't diss

  • great job wondeful riding! anyone who says anything else is wrong. :)

  • I live in Europe and 15 bucks is not a lot 2 pay for a horse riding lesson I pay 25! and the last time I went my horse went wild and nearly ran onto the road luckily I managed to fall off put pull the left rein with me so she turned around!!!

  • i have the same blocks as them and ive messured them many times top of them is only 90cm so u were jumping about 80 cm :) i thought you both rode well tho x

  • You need to get your heels down and the stirrup on the ball of you foot! You will fall ALOT if you dont!!!! I wount call that a susscessful lesson!

  • @oliveheadface calm down you weenie. you don't even know which rider was her, you don't know how they ride on a regular basis, part of the time they were without stirrups, and it was very long time ago so JUST DROP IT! and you can't even spell successful! and "alot" isn't a word.

  • hilaryhorse i dont think you get lessons for $15 an mysecretskill you are good at riding

  • bloody hell how muhc have you improved!? haha

  • Well Done

    Good Jumping

    xx

  • thats easy

  • wow u r a good rider! awesome! i want to buy a horse, but its just too much... :( but in the summer my parents might let me lease a horse!! i'm excitedd!!

  • Oooh looks like an awesome lesson! Looks like major fun :)

  • are they your own horses?? i ride at a riding school and we only have a few horse who would jump that without freaking out!

  • i think it was cool to see that as the more you went over the jumps, the more the horses did the bounce. it was cute ! good job!

  • You are a really good rider

  • I think you did really great

  • dis is cruel

  • cool

  • haha great jumping

  • good job!

  • wow people are rude and they don't know what they are talking about hint hint SEJumper... I am from Europe and you know what i payed the same amount as i do here in America K sweety... HaHa LOL

  • i just realized the SEJumper just joind on October 14th and she/he is already hating on people.

    so rude:/

  • wow you have definatley improved since this vid and i mean a ton.

don't listen to SEJumper she or he is soo stuck up.

    good job:)

  • well i think that you and liv are really great riders!!!

  • I pay 15 bucks for a lesson and my trainer is great.

SO plz dont think that just because you have a lot of money, or because u live in Europe,

that ur a good rider. And i also ride in like 10 degrees weather, really all you need to succeed is to be loyal to the sport.

  • i couldnt care less where you live...

i never said anything about being a good rider because i live in europe or i have lots of money.

    you're blocked too.

  • @HilaryHorse omg lucky u get to pay 15 bucks... i have to pay 40 bucks.. then again i go for an hour.. unless you do too... XD

  • blocked

    ;D

  • yeah your right you are!

  • Well who the hell do u think u r? i dont live over in ur gay ass country so i dont know ur prices. and over here only the good riders pay that much cuz the rest of them suck!!!

  • why do you keep commenting?

it's really boring to keep getting all these emails...i'll block you if you keep doing it :)

  • are you 12... no younger...

if you are older I'd be ashamed.

  • who the hell do you think you are, you have no right what so ever to come on youtube and put these kind of comments, I have a wonderful rider and i only pay $15 bucks a ride, you dont have to give an arm and a leg just to have a good rider so just back off!

  • Well if u want to go far and have a GOOD HORSE and want to the big "A" and "AA" u need a good expencive trainer other wise u r going to do horrible and sux. So get a good trainer and i am sry if i pay a lot to ride with a good TRAINER!!!!!!

  • Ya i can read and still that doesnt even look 2'6

  • You just need to get a life!

  • than if u ride with a not so good trainer. but i ride with a more high end trainer so it is more

  • my old riding teacher was fantastic! you don't have to pay loadsd of money fo a decent teacher it is people like u that psoil utube by thinking u r better coz u have loads of cash. i don't pay for my lesson i work all day and get a free lesson aswell so u don't need money just heart and time

  • how do you know how much she pays to ride and how do you know how good her rider is It doesnt matter how much you pay to ride, I only pay $15 to ride and in 3 months i learned how to trot canter and jump!

  • first off that wasent 3ft u r lucky if it 2'6 and u guys souldnt be jumping 3ft cuz u guys arent good enough that can be rly dangerous. and my lessons usally cost about $100 it depends who u ride with if u have a good trainer it is a lot more

  • just out of interest, can you read?

this video is from february, and we have improved so much since this was taken. it was my first time jumping this high in a while, and yeah, we both weren't good, but this is such an old video.

oh and just to point out, the jump's 2ft9".

  • no one cares how much you pay for your lessons.

It doesn't make you a bigger person for spending silly money on them.

My instructor is amazing, I wouldn't pay that much money to have a lesson with anyone.

  • who the hell do you think you are?!

$100 for a lesson? thats only £50- which isnt absolutely amazingly expensive over here. they arent good enough? yeah theyve both improved but seriously, they are both still pretty good in this vid, you cant judge someones riding by a vid on youtube. grow up.

  • First off she said that it was a video from Feburary and that they both have improved A LOT! And second how do you know how big the jump is, and it doesnt matter how much it costs to ride, and how do you know how good her trainer is, and also how do you know how good they are, I bet you are not any better, as a matter of fact i bet you dont even ride a horse!

  • Ok. First off learn to count strides. That may help you. Like some said eailer your feet are jammed in the irons. And thats it.

  • take your feet out of your irons more

  • hi i have a question i know its none of my buisness but i do western and i've always wanted to do jumping and dressage instead but western cheaper ( my mom ) so i was wonder about how much a english lesson would cost? please respnd im desperate

  • um it depends who you ride with

my trainer(i do jumpers) costs like 45 and thats like the cheapest ive found

but my friend(who is totally loaded)rides with a dresage trainer who costs like 90 something per lession

  • Yeah it does depend, I ride for about 3/4 of an hour ish and thats £22.50 I think. Xx

  • It doesn't cost much at all, it costs £15 4 a single rider in a lesson where I ride. I do ride english by the way.

  • really?! where do u ride then?

  • Your horses look nice and agile and athletic :) I think you all will go far!!

  • your sitting down to soon!

  • I know ... I've solved the problem now.

  • i used to have problems with my position, mostly in the lower leg. i did a couple practices over low cross pole bounces, but 4 or 5 in a row, and you have to 2point the whole thing. this really helps stabilize your leg, and then when you go over bigger fences, its easier to concentrate on staying in a 2point, or at least off the saddle. dont know if it will work for you, but it really helped me!

  • Thanks but I've solved the problem now :D

  • Yay, Luran!

  • In my opinion your body position is pretty good, I would work on really gripping with your calfs which will help make the jump look alot smoother with some extra leg and makes you look in place. Another thing you could do is have the stirrup on the ball of your foot and turn your toes in and REALLY REALLY strech your heels down. You would be amazed what this can do. Hope I helped :)

  • Nice vid. I'm trying to decide between dressage and jumping, i like jumping better so far. lol, i like more movement

  • remember to keep your heels down

putting your stirrup at the ball of your foot helps!

  • I think when your in the middle of a jump in position you should push down with your lower back and than it will be easier to land if you spread your toes out in the boot.

  • super cute ponies =) lol i have a lesson today!!!

  • I WANT your jump position, especially on the smaller jumps, lol!!!

I always seem to go better on larger jumps...Maybe because I can time it better, I don't know, xD. Gorgeous horses, btw!

  • i used to have the same problem. watch my vids. they are all OLD. but yes I had the same problem. try and act like you are going to burry you face in his mane and them when he is in the middle of the jumper focus on sticking your butt out. and let me tell you...when you do the jump correctly it feels soooooooo...much more amazing than doing it wrong =] good luck!

  • I have the same position problems. too far forward or too soon up. if you find something that helps let me know. I´m goin gto try the bum sticking out!

  • gr8 jumping lovly horse

  • Ty :]

  • what type of pony is your horse ?????????????/

  • Oh, I don't own the horse I'm riding, but I do share a different horse called Sam :]

  • hiya;)itz meh again!}

whit kind is yhoor part ownd horsey ????

  • I've got no clue :)

  • do you know what size he is ??/

  • Well, we're guessing top end of 15hh :]

  • guessing do you not know actually how many hands your horse is !!!1

  • Nope! ^^

  • why not everyone should know that about there own horse duhh lol he he !!!!!

  • I'd say it's more important to know how to ride them, and for them to know you ;]

  • yeah thats im[portant to but you should know all yuor horses details aswell

  • Well considering that I only share him, it's not really neccessary to me. I don't need to know his height or breed, but I know what he looks like, I can go into the field and pick him out easily...that's more important to me.

  • i dont want to get into an argument over this cuz its just silly

but all im saying is that yuo should know more details about yuor horse if you show him you should know that coz sometimes you are asked details about him !!!!1

  • Well, I'm not allowed to enter shows with him - I only share, not loan.

The show I'm doing this Monday is an open show at the stables, and they don't want details.

  • well obz if itz at yhoor stables !!!!!

where do you go horseridin ???/

  • Chessington Equestrian Centre.

  • awwright a go tae Ayrshire equitation Centre is Chessington in England mines is in Scitland !!!!

  • this isnt a commemt on the video but on the video info it says benny is 14hh but i think he is about 13.2hh XD i think!!!!!!

  • ARRG charachter count, ok

DONT get into the habit of going into every fence in XC position though, you will have NO breaks, which will be a tad unfortunate, only try it if you think Sam wont take avantage and get you off. I hope that made sence... it owrked for me anyway..

if you want be to make it more understandably, just talk to me on MSN bout it :)

  • Sam wil take advantage XD.

He bolted when we had no reins.

    It was rather fun actually.

  • for sitting up to early, try this (now you have a share horse it might be a bit easier, to work on, but only do it if he's honest) go into the jump with an XC seat, when he takes off AND ONLY WHEN HE TAKES OFF (if before, you will kiss dirt) put your hands forward, and when he is over the middle part of the jump tkae them back slightly, and begin to get you bum in the saddle, but lean forwards, from the hips, and then once the horse has 4 feet on the ground sit up.

  • awsome video all i can say is (for both of you) try and keep you toes in and forwards !!!! that is what i am working on on benny !!! it is really hard but apparently helps your WHOLE position!!!????

  • I dunno..maybe it does.

We ride like penguins apparantly XDD

  • hey! my "intrusctor" taught me something about posistion.. when you're going just stick ur butt out more and make your back more flat.. and she said that while your landing to stick ur butt out more... i don't know what that means but it's workin haha

  • XDD...thank you - I'll try it out :)

  • hi im hosting a horse video contest so please enter it

it needs to be in by may 17 please look trough my videos for the video and comment and add the video thanks

  • Thanks for the notice, but I'll enter a contest if I want to :]

  • with some horses u feel like u r sitting up 2 earley but ur not ur actually going with the horse

  • I guess, but in this video, it's obvious I'm sitting up to early :S

  • all i can say is try to sit deep and go with the horse cuz watchin u jump it dont look like u sit up to early

  • Really?? I think I sit up wayy to early. :]

  • Lurahn is a gorgeous horse :] you should try asking your trainer to say something to the effect of "stay down" as you're jumping, to help you remember to stay up off of his back.. that's all i can think of for now lol nice job though :]

  • Thank youu :3

  • My advice:

This may sound real, like, crap coming from me, and because I'm me, you might ignore it, but anyhoo, I'll say anyway XD

Just make sure your out of the saddle, and slide your hands up the horses neck REALLY quickly, then, do what Janet says, and only sit up properly when you are sure all four feet are back on the ground.

    :D

  • Haha. If I didn't know that's Janet's advice, I'd have thought you were really knowledgabe a la horse ways all of a sudden. XD

  • for siiting up 2 early, try sitting really deep and back in the saddle right before the jump. and for improving ur position ova bigger jumps. wen ur jumping get into 2-point really quick and slide ur hands up ur horse's neck and grab some mane so u can keep that position! i used to have problems with that too :]

  • Awesome, thanks for the advice :] - especially since I'm having a jumping lesson on saturday, and I don't want to let Sam (the horse) down.

  • i have worked on my position with sittin up to.. and my trainer told me to sit back.. wait .. nd if u need to push away the horse mane when u approach the jump and then u will get a good distance and feeling for when u need to go into 2point

  • really nice riding,

i have the same problem as you, i sit up too early, which is enchanced in my recent vid :L x my instructor told me to release a bit more, and let my hands go up the horses neck abit more..

pls take a look at my vids and comment :)

  • Cool :). I was going to practice tomorrow, but I'm riding Toby Two, and I figure that I'll be concentrating more on stopping him from running out xD.

  • your jumping great! *iv only jumped 2'6 a couple of times cause im on a medium pony:D

  • Thank youu, although I'd say that's debatable on the jumping great part. XD

  • PLEASE NOTE:

I've decided that I really need to improve my position over the bigger fences, and..I might be mad, but I'm asking other YTers for help(!). I'm fine on smaller jumps, but I tend to sit up too early on larger jumps, and if I move up to a different lesson where we jump bigger, than I'd like tips on how not to sit up too early. I've figured I need to release more so yeah. If anyone gives me unhelpful crap, I'll delete the comment.

  • thanks for entering my contest!! :D

  • You're welcome :]

  • i understand exactly

if i try to overthink what i'm doing, it just falls apart

but good work making it to two foot six!

  • Thanks n_n

The thing is though, if I force myself to do it, I usually screw up completly :S. I also wonder if it might not help that Lurahn hasn't got a very.."smooth" jump.

  • try to stay in two point a little longer over/after the fence, just so you're not making it hard for the horse to land (:

i make the same mistake all the time, keep up the good work!

  • Thanks.

Yeah, I know I sit up too early :\.

I'm getting better though and managed up to about 2'6 without doing it :3. If I'm more relaxed, then I find I jump better 8D.

  • your 2-point is great but just try to hold your butt out of the saddle a little longer, release, and keep your legs under you

i have the same exact problems and i have been trying to fix them for a long time, and its slowly better, but once you start to get it you will feel the difference it makes.

    but great job!!

  • Thanks 8D

I think my jumping position is actually slightly worse on Lurahn...haha xD

  • wow both of you guys looked great! keep it up! awesome horses btw!

  • Thank youu! 8DD

  • Good job for no stirrups!

I love jumping with no stirrups!

  • I normally like it, but I was on Lurahn, and he's a good jumper, but he's bouncy as hell, so I was just slowly dying in the saddle xD

  • lol

well you looked really good :)

  • Ty

    :D

  • good job! especially no stirrups:) Just work on keeping your heels down it gives a lot more balance when going of the fence:)

    Beautiful horses BTW!

  • Thank you n_n

  • well done good jumping!

  • Thank you =D

  • good job!! btw both of the horses are beautiful : ]

  • Thanks 8D

  • o ok. sorry i guess its just not that same as it looks. hey i guess it means i have been jumping higher than 3ft!! lol

  • Lol. I think the thing is, the fence looks quite small because of Lurahn, whose about 16hh minimum, whereas if you compare Benny with it, it's bigger XD

  • You guys are doing very well!!! Nice no stirruping. You guys will ge the hang of it!! Just keep those heels down and keep the stirrup irons nearer to you r toes!! It's not the angle of the camera. I have watched your other videos and it's always like that. Just work on it!!! Great horses though. And i dont think any of those fences are 3ft. There around 2'6". I jump 3ft and higher and they didnt look 3ft to me. But no matter the fence height, yu should be proud of yourself!!!

  • Thanks! n_n

However, the largest fence with the pole at the top of the blocks is 3ft ;]

  • Im not trying too be mean or anything but it really looks like your feet are too far in the stirrups, im judging the ec contest with TrueEquestrian1909 and she ssaidd soo too. Im just trying to help, but anyway great video and beautiful horse!!

  • Thanks ^_^

Yeah, I look at the video, and it does look like that, however I think it's possibly the angle of the camera, otherwise our instructor would have told us.

  • I have some addvice, and I am not trying to be too mean or anything I am trying to help. =-) I think you should try not to let your feet go too far into the sturrips, it will help you keep your heels down and will help you keep your balance more. Also when you go for the landing of the jump, don't sit up so early, I know it can be hard sometimes but you should try not to pull on your horses mouth when you come up to early. And grip with your calves not your kneew. =-) but good jumping. =-)

  • Thank you ^^

  • Your Welcome =-) Hope it helps =-)

  • Umm...was that you commenting?

    Are you BettyAnne2402?

  • nice riding

  • Thank you! :D

  • you need to keep your heels down, other than that, good job!! love the horses, they are really cute!!

  • Thanks! n_n

  • Your feet are way to far in the stirrups, they are supposed to be closer to your toes. That can be really dangerous and if you fell off your feet could get caught in the stirrups.

  • Our stirrups are on the balls of our feet. It may not look like it, but they are.

  • For some people, its hard to keep the stirrups near your toes, like me, its because i have broard shoulders that push me fordward.

  • I'd say my stirrups at least are where they should be...

  • please release. your sitting half way over the fence which really hurts your horses mouth and back. good luck in the future

  • Yeah, I [Alex] notice that I do that on the bigger fences =\. I'd only just started riding Lurahn, and he has a slightly jerky jump, so I wasn't looking brilliant on him. I'm better now xD

  • lol really? i am excited

  • thats kewl I am getting redy to do that wit my dog!

  • Lol..it's awesome fun :D

  • I like private and semi-private lessons best you get to do more

  • So true, so true.

Like in our group lesson, we have two beginners, so we can't do as much and it's a bit crap ]:

I'm hoping to move up - Liv has very recently but I can't atm because I'm doing agility classes with my dog.

  • that's why i ended up getting my own horse. even in our lessons, we were all the same level, the instructors just wouldn't let us jump over 2'9''. so i leased a horse, jumped her 4', she got sold out from under me, so i bought my own. lol!

  • gosh I have done that high but my trainer was just movin up the pole with out me knowing it so I didnt know I jumped it till like 30 min later :P

  • Lol..we don't usually jump this high in our normal group lesson, but because this was a semi-private, we were able too :]

  • yeah the first time I jumped 3 feet my horse over jumped it by a ton

  • The first time I jumped 3ft was in a Chase-Me-Charlie event - we got up to 3ft6" before we had to stop..I was actually riding a cob, Wolfie who isn't well known to jump that kind of height XD

  • so were u jumping the 3 ft ones with out stirrups or just the 1st ones? I though your riding looked really good your legs did move a little but you still had a great position. :)

  • We were doing the smaller bounces without stirrups, once the second fence got up to the second up, we were given back our stirrups - I just had to leave some of the earlier clips out when I was making the video :]

  • shorten ur stirrups, shuv ur heels down....ur legs r everywhere

  • "Comments ARE appreciated. (but not too harshly xD)"

It would've been nice to pick up on our good points too y'know o_0

  • ur horse is cute? i used to have the same problem when i was little. The best advice i can give you is that you are gripping the horse with your knees leaving your feet to flap everyehere. Instead, try pointing your knees outwars away from the horse to train yourself to grip with your calf n heels instead.

  • For example: While ur horse is standing still, get in your 2point position. grip with your knees n take ur feet a lil off the horse's side. Have some1 push u n u wont be able to keep ur balance. Then...grip with your calf and heels and get in your 2 point. have someone push you and u will see that your balance is 50 times better.

u can ride over small jumps like ur doing but once u get higher it will make ur job much harder

    GOOD LUCK!!! :)

  • Thanks n_n.

Yeah, the big ones kinda stumped us because we've never done bounces at that height before, and it's challenging to go over a small jump and suddenly see a bigger one and think, "CRAP! Jump!"

  • How fun!

    great riding!

  • Thank you! :)

  • nice jump at 0.28! x x x x x well sone x x

  • Thanks! That's my friend, Liv (iluffdavidtennant)

  • thank you!

    =D
