  • you should read the book if you liked the movie. it tells you alot more what happened.

  • this movie is by far the best film i have ever watched !

  • I saw this movie when I was eleven. At that time, I was impressed with their suits. So cool!

  • Jimmy the Gent and Tommy Di'Simone....were some bad men....

  • 4:48 The Scene :)))

  • Playing layla and showing all those killings was insane.....the best part

  • One of my favorite parts is at the very end when Henry goes to Paulie and begs for help. Paulie's cooking sausage & peppers during the scene - you can almost smell them (the move has many well executed scenes where food & cooking play a subtle but key role in depicting that culture). Anyway, Paulie hands Henry a few thousand dollars in cash and says "Now I gotta turn my back on ya..."

  • everytime i here layla i think of frankie carbone.

  • it stuck in my head when Tuddy said 'you wasted 8 fucking aprons on that guy! i dont know whats the matter with that kid' lol

  • Paul Cicero!

  • "i'll dig the fucking hole i don't give a fuck...the first hole i dug?"

    ....Joe Pesci after shooting spider

  • @charms71 "where are the shovels?.....

  • holy shit....is the actress who plays Karen .......did she play Tony Sopranos shrink?..............(or am i wrong?)

  • @inkey2 Yup

  • Thank for uploading this! Goodfellas is my all time favorite film!

  • Sure Hollywood didn't want to reward a film about Italian Mafia...

It was still the best film of the year and the year after that as well.

I guess they needed Brando to get Hollywood's attention.

  • Some of the the better 30 mins on youtube this making of :)

  • Martin Scorcesse is a genius.

  • @yakomuto Yes, true, but sometimes he goes over the top and ruins his film . Not here by any means, but with Cape Fear, Gangs of New York, and even a bit with Casino. Nevertheless this and Taxi Driver, maybe my favourite movie of all, are sublime

  • Is there a film that you can rewatch more than 'Goodfellas'? I wouldn't say it's my favourite film, although it's very close, but I never get bored of watching it.

  • @TheScumfrog Casino was just like that too. Such rich film making is hard to come by.

  • It was sad that 'dances with wolves' won the oscar. The film was shot on a big budget, on a vast scale, tried to break down all ethnic barriers....lets face it though, 'goodfellas' was a HELL of a lot better.

  • Joe Pesci is AMAZING

  • Lesson here: Music will make or break any movie. Scorsese was a genius at capturing every scene with the perfect music.

  • Wait a minute...that guy in the trunk..how is he alive and giving interviews???? WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @sigurjong Now I like Frank Vincent. He is nice to crazy people.

  • This film should have dominated the Oscars... It was robbed.

  • Best film ever made, Wont ever be beaten in terms of quality and sheer excelence

  • Martin Scorsese has the best taste in music

  • 5:34 thats the scene when henry felt sory for the man who got shot and pete wanted him to shut the door

  • i get chills when they show boby de niro and cream is playing in the background great moment

  • "i dont give a fuck ill dig the fuckin hole, like ive never dug a fuckin hole before"

  • Editing is fucking painful process but what a craft!

  • i knew ray was wearing some eye liner

  • 5:34 I don't rember that

  • @Josewazheretoday that is from the very beggining of the movie, a very short scene. If you haven't payed close attention perhaps you have missed it.

  • @AsfaltNokturno No, i think they cut it out. I watch it two times.I think it's because I was watching it on tv instead of dvd.So they probably had to cut it out to make time for the ads

  • the music is what makes the movie

  • what the fuck does a movie producer even do? just provide the movie's budget? is that it?

  • @4TheTabsInUrEyes depends on the producer. Im sure Irwin Winkler gave marty a lot of freedom (he's martin frickin' scorsese), but some are more controlling since they are pretty much the bosses on the set.

  • The scene of Creams "sunshine of your love" is absolutely perfect for the scene of Robert Deniro at the bar. That was the one scene in the movie that was the most striking to me.

  • Peter you speak the truth mate.... And they give him one for the Departed... lol,,, And who gives the oscar to Marty? Yes... Fokken Spielberg (miauw) and fokken Lucas and Coppola.... I bet marty and coppola laughed their asses off...lol.. Marty is the number one director, period....!!! Nolan is coming Marty..!! Be careful... LMGDFAO

  • When I was 16, there was a period of about two months or so when I would come home from school and watch Goodfellas while eating an entire large bag of potato chips- five days a week. I was a fat son of a bitch for a while after that, but I never got tired of the movie!

  • @OutisPan LMFAO

  • People who become uncomfortable around violence obviously are sheltered and are completey umaware of the world around them.

  • Everything was better in the 90's

  • man the older Lorrain Bracco gets the hotter she gets

  • 1:19 Note that Scorsese even has (presumably fake) hollow points in the cylinder.

  • the music is the money shot of this movie

  • Thelma Schoonmaker is magician of an editor.

  • Scorsese is like the Einstein of film making

  • great doc excellant *****

  • It's funny how he ripped himself off. The slow zoom down the bar to Jimmy is in mean streets. Killer.

  • 4:00-4:10 Oh my god Martin Scorsese just said 10000 words in 10 seconds

  • lol M S might have adhd hea a genius

  • Pileggi is a genius for writing the book, without him, none of it would be possible. Truly great film.

  • i wanna fuckin cry

  • Every movie since "Goodfellas" that depicts drug use- strung out characters- steals from the jump-cut process that this movie pioneered.

  • @calebengler This movie didn't pioneer jump cuts, you fucking windbag! Do your research and shut the fuck up.

  • @bodhitaichi calebengler didn't say this movie pioneered jump cuts, he said it pioneered jump cuts to depict characters strung out on drugs. even if he had said it did you over reacted like a strung out drug user and need to shut the fuck up.

  • 2:37

damn thats movie editing? i thought you guess do that in some adobe program

looks hard as hell, what happens if your rip a film accidentally

  • @mastergradeone

Ofcourse, back then there were no computers with fancy digital software to edit videos, this was real video on tape that had to be cut by hand.

  • @JeannotvanBerlo123 when you say video on tape, do you mean they would actually transfer the film to video tape, cut the film on video and when they finally had a finished film, they'd then go back to the film prints and reassemble the move on actual film? I always thought they just cut the whole thing on film

  • get your fucken shine box

  • Fucking helicopter has been following me all day

  • fuc@ing amazing

  • frank vincent is an awesome actor, i cant wait for his new movie chicago overcoat

  • THANK YOU!!!!! :)

  • Fantastic! This was very interesting! Thanks so much for posting. I LOVE this movie!! Great writers, directors & actors & the musical scores were amazing-Kudos to Marty for a great great film!!!

  • Thanx 4 posting one of the absolute best movies ever made. It's one of the best on various levels. For one, it's great soundtrack backs the movie perfectly - and it was one of the last movies to ever do so. While I am a big fan of the movies Dazed and Confused, Casino, and Bronx Tale you can tell when some of the great songs in those movies were entered just so the audience could stay entertained. None of these more annoyingly obvious than Devo's version of "I can't get no satis" in Casino

  • Nice upload! Thank you for putting it up.

  • Awesome

  • Ok, I stand corrected. But I have never seen it and I've seen him interviewed a lot. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of his.

  • and who was given best director oscar for 1990? Kevin Costner for Dancing With Wolves. Un f-ing real.

  • @PeterMayer

Maybe someone outta teach mr. Costner a lesson... ya know whatamsayin'?

  • @PeterMayer yeah seriously what the hell what a crap decision by the academy

  • @PeterMayer - Quite sad, isn't it? Then again, who truly can believe the Oscars. I mean, Scorsese should have aready won one for Taxi Driver. And for Raging Bull. The story goes on. And then he wins it for The Departed. That, too is rather sad for me.

  • @PeterMayer the academy are a bunch of tight assed jerks who vote in whoever is "liked" by a very special tight knit crowd. Kevein Costner in the 90s was loved and adored.

  • @PeterMayer I never bought into Native American mythology. You can smoke the peace pipe until your dick falls off, but I am not dancing with any fucking wolves no matter how high I get. Not that I get high, but if I did my shit would still believe in our lord and savior Jesus Christ.

    -Kenny Powers

  • @PeterMayer Well that was a good movie to, I loved both movies.

  • @bigcasey1995 yeah, but not in the same league. And Costner for best director? c'mon!

  • @PeterMayer Ya, I guess your right.

  • @PeterMayer Lets not degrade Costner's effort too even though the award was senseless.

  • @PeterMayer Yup. It's insane how Marty only has 1 oscar, when you think about many amazing films he has done.

  • One of the best movies ever. It's kind of funny how Tarantino in any interview about directors, movies never mentions Scorcese, Raging Bull, Goodfellas especially.

  • He said he does that because people mention those for him. He has talked in an interview about Scorsese alone for 20 minutes on Sky movies. He has talked about Raging Bull and done an interview account of DeNiro's entire career. Most of that interview talks about Raging Bull.

  • Life is but a DREAM

  • Great, many thanks.

  • everything makes the movie what it is , but god the music is SUCH a major part of it

  • Yeah its awsome, one of them films you can watch over and over!

  • excelente********

  • one of thelma and marty's greatest achievements!

  • did paul say you broke your cherry.

  • yes, as in he got out of court for the first time.

not because the judge fucked him silly

  • thanks, I knew what he meant, it just sounded odd coming from someone who barely says two words.

  • yeah man, muchas gracias, they are right, this was extremely educational and very enlightening, thank you.

  • brilliant! x

  • Very enjoyable 3 movies. Thankyou.

  • thanks for this and your other videos. Awesome stuff man much appriciated.
