I disagree. Adams was against federal reserve type banking institutes, and went to war against them. How did Jeffersons ideas hardly ever work? That seems very general. First, Jefferson was not a believer of the Constitution. Jefferson thought that absolute power means absolute evil. That's part of why he hated the Supreme Court (he thought they had too much power and he hated Marshall). Madison knew otherwise. Plus, he thought the constitution was only temporary because he thought the governement would have to overthrown and a new constitution constructed. Madison, his protege, again knew otherwise. The constitution is good. It's the distorted leadership we have encountered that is horrible. THEY are temporary.

I disagree. I have never heard Romney discuss abolishing the federal reserve or eliminating the income tax. I have never heard Romney talking about practicing humble foreign policy, or fighting against globalization. I have just never heard Romney speak as a statesmen. We need someone who wants to see our money gain intrinsic value. I just have not heard Romney support that, even though he says he is conservative.

I disagree. Adams was against federal reserve type banking institutes, and went to war against them. How did Jeffersons ideas hardly ever work? That seems very general. Also, being an interventionist is one thing, but being an interventionist in the way we are interventionist is completely entangling. Look at us now? Since WW2 we have pretty much sabotaged our economy, and created globalization. We can help others, and intervene when bad things happen, but we should not form alliances.

First, Jefferson was not a believer of the Constitution. He saw it as temporary, and believed that the US wouldn't last very long before it was overthrown "with the blood of patriots and tyrants" which he stated was a healthy countries "natural manure." He, unlike Madison, was greatly against the Supreme court and mandated it EVIL (especially Marshall). I could go on and on. He was an idealist...Adams was a realist. In that way Romney is much more like Adams in spite of other differences.

Jefferson thought that absolute power means absolute evil. That's part of why he hated the Supreme Court (he thought they had too much power and he hated Marshall). Madison knew otherwise. Plus, he thought the constitution was only temporary because he thought the governement would have to overthrown and a new constitution constructed. Madison, his protege, again knew otherwise. The constitution is good. It's the distorted leadership we have encountered that is horrible. THEY are temporary.

I am really worried about his flip-flopping and how he can contradict himself in this way and still get votes but I want to be fair to Romney.
His record is without a doubt mixed. But keep in mind he had to work with a very very liberal legislature and did veto many many bills (I see that as a plus), some of which were overridden so I am keeping an open mind.

I agree with you but one thing concerns me about Romney. He said he would not apply his church's values through laws on other people's lives he gave outlawing alchohol as an example... and he said this about two months ago... but if that's true why is he against gay marriage on religious grounds? where does the mixing of his religious beliefs and the way he thinks our laws should be begin, and where does it end?

Im actually a Ron Paul supporter, but I also believe that a religion or lack there of should not be required for the office of the presidency. I dont like him for his policies, but if his religion is the only reason that your voting against Romney, then I think that you should reconsider.

Unlike John Kerry--who was against, then for, then against again--Romney was for abortion, and then saw the light and became pro-life.
