damn you american guys. i bought my mossberg maverick with red dot and pistol grip in switzerland, it was about 750 US dollars! guns are so freeking expensive in my country! :-(
@poonjoonoob Actually you don't need to saw anything. The stock screws off. They make plenty of after market pistol grips. I have a pistol grip and side folding stock. It takes 5 minutes to switch one to another. I put the pistol grip on every once in a while to switch it up, But its much more comfortable to shoot it with a regular stock on.
@cataklysm6 I got it from Budsgunshop Unfortunately they have gone up in price to 199.00. Which In my opinion is still a great price for this shotgun.
@Juanthegunman Nope, Ive had it for a while now and I haven't had any problems. I even got a longer barrel for it and use it for skeet. Then when I come home I just put the security barrel back on.
@dreamz20091 You could get a 18 inch barrel from browels.com. Or you could call Mossberg and order a security barrel. If you do that I believe you will need a new magazine with forgrip, But don't quote me on that. I'm actually going to be ordering the 590 barrel for mine.
@dreamz20091 yeah you can change the to. Just need the magazine and forend assembly. Basically you'll end up with a Maverick 88 with a Mossberg 590 barrel and magazine tube. There is a video here on youtube, The guys name is Zenmagine. He did what I'm trying to do. He explains it better. The video is called Tactical Mossberg Maverik 88.
This was my first shotgun as well. I have now the exact set up you do. Just how it came and a shell holder. Don't buy none of that ATI shit, I bought a tactical stock from ATI and it was trash.
@crest2598 buy a blackhawk with the recoil springs in it. It is amazing and takes up to 90% of the recoil. It is definitely worth the money and is very sturdy.
@TheM4maniac How does it react when shot. I heard a lot of people complain about cheek slap. Basically it takes the recoil away from your shoulder and transfers it to your cheek. If this isn't so I will probably go get one.
@crest2598 I have only shot a few rounds through it but i dont have that problem at all. i did notice it a little when the stock was fully extended but i use it all the way collapsed. I have only fired some 2 3/4 bird-shot and some 3in 00buck. i think it may be a little more noticeable with a higher load but even then its not that bad. It is definitely worth every penny. I highly recommend it. My shoulder doesn't even hurt a little after shooting now.
i got mine today at academy for $189

Is there something on the gun to add a sling or do you need to change the stock and barrel to be able to do that?
