nice setup dude, ive grown off a 23watt cfl before and i currently have 1 going. you can move the light closer to stop the spacing those things put off no heat so you can get them less than a inch away for best results.
@concretejunk fan leaves are NEVER supposed to be trimmed before flowering because they store ALL THE FOOD that will go into the buds. LMFAO! DO SOME RESEARCH! trimming your leaves reduces food and nutrients that will go into your buds which will GREATLY REDUCE YIELD! if you are flowering and a fan leaf is blocking the quit a bit of light from hitting a lower bud then by all means trim that fucker... but in this stage unless there is mold DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!
@cmonty25 Its caled pop corning. Cutting off some dead fan leaves at the bottom is the way to go for his setup trust me. he could replant them with soil up to where the next node is, and roots will shoot out of the stalk and it will be a 10 times better plant.

Tell me. I'm a perfectionist so if I ever learned how to grow weed and the right environment to grow in I'd grow primo weed because I'm the obsessive type and would do it perfectly. u made a bad choice, u planted them in clear containers, if roots see light they go OH SHIITT and shoot back into the soil they shot out of, if u look at your root systems, they probably all dip to the bottom where the hole is (if there is one) then retreat back into the soil when light hits them. planting in beer cups or regular pots would have been better.

metal halide does create more density in the bud, doesn't really make a difference for young seedlings or vegetative growth. Only down side of MH bulbs is heat and electricity cost.
I have a friend that uses 2 - 150 watt CFLs that give out light like if they where 600 watt = to 9.200 lumens each and then he also have more CFLs with a yellowish light to them but he doesn't use all of them at the same time ( he claims he's got a technique) he gets big buds that all I know. choppers detect heat, and police will raid if there is a noticable spike in electricity use. Compact Fluorescents don't produce that much heat or electricity so I was good. Metal halides or Sodium bulbs do though.

They are both good for different reasons. Outdoor is very inexpensive whereas indoor is the complete opposite. Outdoor you can only grow one crop per year because marijuana season starts in the Spring and ends in Autumn ("Fall" for you Yanks lol). Indoors weed can be grown all year round easily. Think hard, indoor is risky business because the smell, light and abnormal electricity bill is hard to mask. Some people think that indoor weed is better but I think it's just an opinion.
they look healthy, i wouldnt use a tappered glass jar if you plan on transporting to a bigger pot unless you want smash it and your water cant drain so your roots will be dead with in a week or two
if your not going to get a HID, you should try a cheap 4' flouro shop light, they cost about $10.00, then get two 40W tubes,1cool and 1 warm. thats 80watts of light for under $15.00. you could set up 5 of these and you'll have 400W of light. a 400w HPS costs between $2-300.00 these are the best for flowering. i saw a 105W CFL with medium base for about $23 on the web, this would be a good way to go too.
im rocking two 4 ft's w/bulbs as he listed, and a few cool white cfl's and my plants literally are at least 4 times the size(given i do have cali sun during day and nutes)(and mine were topped) every grow is a learning curve, dont get discouraged, have fun and take criticism lightly if your gonna post vid's online(most people are only a grow or two ahead of you) keep doing your thing kid, stay green, stay high.
Watts have nothing to do with the amount of light a light is kicking out. It just tells you the amount of energy the light is using. In actuality CFL's are better than floursecents because they use a percentage of the watts (saving energy) and they still give you just as many lumens (light energy, more efficient)

I have a bearded dragon also , but not all lizards eat insects And plants , some lizards will never eat plants .For example any species of Gecko.Besides if you wanna put such a plant in a terrarium with lizards you will need lizards who live in rainforests cuz species like bearded dragons live in Desert areas which dont give a good climate for the plant.

you should move up to a bigger bulb like a 400wt sodium after 6 weeks from seed are 4 weeks from clone but if you only have 1 plant go for the 250 cfl light you can get them off ebay they are very good
For the same amount of energy you can use 6 42 Watt CFLs and get better light distribution by positioning them on all sides.
Seriously though you should get a HPS or MH light. My first grow was with CFLs and I still use them for veg - keeps them short. Flowering with CFLs is good for the experience and fun - but you won't get a worthwhile yield.

That has happened simply because the plants are trying to extend and raise their leaves higher, simply to photosynthesize more efficiently. it is a problem, because when this happens they spend more nutrients on their stalk and less on making leaves and bud.
glass jars??? toxic salt buildup start your plants in 12 oz plastic cups cut out 3-4 holes in bottom, no ferts for first two weeks then transplant to bigger pots with ferts

looking good, just wondering if you could tell me if those pots ended up being big enough or did u need to transplant? I'm using 1 gallon 8" pots and im not sure if those will be big enough.
personally, i think 5 litre pots minimum for veg and flower, i guess its common to use small pots for germinating and 1st 2 weeks. Last grower i saw had large square pots, about 3 gallons each.
congrats on the growing. they look good. huge sturdy ass stems awesome. and the internodes are close which is good as well. plenty green so the nutrients are okay. you will have a problem putting that one plant in the glass container into another one when its ready to transplant tho. if you don t have a HID get one. u need it for flowering 250 t0 400 would do for those 4 plants. its just senseless to flower without a HID. I would get a HPS with a sunagro bulb cause it has more blue spectrum.
its senseless to flower without a HID..... thats debaitable. they will flower with those lights you have, they would even flower with flor tubes. Granted they will produce more bud with an HID but they will still bud without one.

You want 2600 watts per 4X8. For maximum flowering. To be legal you need to live in a state that has medical programs. Cal, WA, OR, AK.

they look healthy, i wouldnt use a tappered glass jar if you plan on transporting to a bigger pot unless you want smash it and your water cant drain so your roots will be dead with in a week or two

if your not going to get a HID, you should try a cheap 4' flouro shop light, they cost about $10.00, then get two 40W tubes,1cool and 1 warm. thats 80watts of light for under $15.00. you could set up 5 of these and you'll have 400W of light. a 400w HPS costs between $2-300.00 these are the best for flowering. i saw a 105W CFL with medium base for about $23 on the web, this would be a good way to go too.

im rocking two 4 ft's w/bulbs as he listed, and a few cool white cfl's and my plants literally are at least 4 times the size(given i do have cali sun during day and nutes)(and mine were topped) every grow is a learning curve, dont get discouraged, have fun and take criticism lightly if your gonna post vid's online(most people are only a grow or two ahead of you) keep doing your thing kid, stay green, stay high.

Watts have nothing to do with the amount of light a light is kicking out. It just tells you the amount of energy the light is using. In actuality CFL's are better than floursecents because they use a percentage of the watts (saving energy) and they still give you just as many lumens (light energy, more efficient)

There are many types of artificial light and all of them do different things to your plants. The common incandescent light bulb emits some of the frequencies of light the plant can use, but it also emits a high percentage of far red and infra-red light which cause the plant to concentrate its growth on the stem. This results in the plant stretching toward the light bulb until it becomes so tall and spindly that it just weakly topples over.

i also am growing in my room, using the box that "rockband" comes in. my parents found it but i told em im growin a lime tree for my beers lol. my only problem is my lighting though. i only have one plant since its my first grow so im using one 75watt cfl. can i get by on that or am i wasting my time? im almost two months in an my baby is almost a foot tall (stunted i know)

I have a bearded dragon also , but not all lizards eat insects And plants , some lizards will never eat plants .For example any species of Gecko.Besides if you wanna put such a plant in a terrarium with lizards you will need lizards who live in rainforests cuz species like bearded dragons live in Desert areas which dont give a good climate for the plant.

you should move up to a bigger bulb like a 400wt sodium after 6 weeks from seed are 4 weeks from clone but if you only have 1 plant go for the 250 cfl light you can get them off ebay they are very good

For the same amount of energy you can use 6 42 Watt CFLs and get better light distribution by positioning them on all sides.
Seriously though you should get a HPS or MH light. My first grow was with CFLs and I still use them for veg - keeps them short. Flowering with CFLs is good for the experience and fun - but you won't get a worthwhile yield.

That has happened simply because the plants are trying to extend and raise their leaves higher, simply to photosynthesize more efficiently. it is a problem, because when this happens they spend more nutrients on their stalk and less on making leaves and bud.

personally, i think 5 litre pots minimum for veg and flower, i guess its common to use small pots for germinating and 1st 2 weeks. Last grower i saw had large square pots, about 3 gallons each.

congrats on the growing. they look good. huge sturdy ass stems awesome. and the internodes are close which is good as well. plenty green so the nutrients are okay. you will have a problem putting that one plant in the glass container into another one when its ready to transplant tho. if you don t have a HID get one. u need it for flowering 250 t0 400 would do for those 4 plants. its just senseless to flower without a HID. I would get a HPS with a sunagro bulb cause it has more blue spectrum.

its senseless to flower without a HID..... thats debaitable. they will flower with those lights you have, they would even flower with flor tubes. Granted they will produce more bud with an HID but they will still bud without one.
