But if you are inferring that these women were not singing in tune, I would guess that you have never sang live in a rock band, otherwise you would know that you need PERFECT sound from your monitors when singing live to be in tune. I was just going off the facts that I learned from the film. Joan Jett was on set a lot to help K.S. out. It was based more on Cherie Curries side right? I checked out Cherie and her sisters solo record "messin with the boys" I loved it. I just thought they had such great stage presence and they could play like hell! Love the Runaways!

I was just going off the facts that I learned from the film. Joan Jett was on set a lot to help K.S. out. It was based more on Cherie Curries side right? I checked out Cherie and her sisters solo record "messin with the boys" I loved it. I just thought they had such great stage presence and they could play like hell! Love the Runaways!

@rimbaudboy thats only what happened in the movie, I've read her book and she stayed for a lot longer than the movie portrays... they made "the runaways", "queens of noise", and "live in japan" before she left.

I don't really think it matters if you knew them before or after the movie. Like I don't see why it would matter. It's not like the movie made them mainstream? If you love the runaways whether you knew them before or after, you still share a common love for their music, so you're still in the same boat. Oh, and I don't think anyone really cares if you knew them or not; unless you're one of those people that has no life and enjoys getting in other peoples business and harassing them aha.

@parisscissorhands In spite of the picture's insurmountable flaws and inaccuracies, that it's revived interest in and introduced younger listeners to a very unique phenomenon is fortunate. For years, not a minute of my attention was afforded to The Runaways until the film reminded me that they were such an exceptional band. We can all agree on that much, I think.

Jackie tried to commit suicide after sumone knocked over her prized bass. Cherie got kidnapped, raped, beat for 6 hours then she finally escaped. None of them were close anymore.
