  • when you inject menopur, when you push the plunger in to give the injection do you feel some resistance? I did it tonight and i feel like it takes forever to push the plunger down.. could that mean i got into the muscle and not fat??? i am pretty skinny and go straight in but do pinch skin, but tonight i let go of the pinched skin during it

  • why is there air in ur syringe? you are not suppose to pump air into your system, it can kill.

  • i am 4 years old and i took a shot

  • Thank you very much for posting this video. It's a very generous thing.

  • Menopur is for inducing ovulation, if you have diffuculties getting pregnant. It has nothing to do with diabetes ;)

I also use it myself, every day for 15 days now. No results unfortunately

  • wats a menopur shot? really sorry for no understanding :( is it like for ppl that have diabetes? i hate needles :( lucky i dont have diabetes!!!! hurray. sorry for you ppl who do need to take this menopur shot

  • Sub-Q injections are actually 45 degree angles because you really don't want to hit a blood vessel. Plus it's less painful :)

  • Both my medication package instructions and our UCSF fertility clinic nurses say either 45 or 90 degree angle is fine.

  • thanks for the video, wish you lots of luck !

  • what are Menopur if i may ask?

  • its an hunfropflikti

  • Thank you for posting this video. We are about to begin IVF w ICSI #1 and I am terrified of all the shots that come with the process. My husband is nervous too. We have no idea what to expect but your video has been helpful. Are there more Sub Q shots than the IMs?

  • Thank you for this posting. Picking up my scrip today and I was a little nervous as to the procedue. Thank you and good luck with your ivf journey.

  • Thank you so much for posting this video! I start my Menopur injections tomorrow, and I was very nervous about it until I saw your demonstration, so thank you, I feel a lot better about it now!! Good luck to everyone who's ttc!! :)

  • i didn't know that letting it sit will make it sting less! my first time injecting menopur was no fun at all. now i've done 3 donation cycles, and for anyone still having trouble with the stinging, i find that pushing down the plunger nice and slow while injecting really helps! good luck everyone!

  • Thanks for your video! We're doing IVF round #2 and I just started the menopur tonight. I couldn't remember the mixing procedure and I used your video to remind me! :) Hope you were successful! :)

  • Thanks, I start my shots next Monday. Wondering how you are doing with the IVF journey?

  • Thanks for posting this. This was really helpful. :)

I gave myself my first one in the office today, and it was completely painless.

  • is there any other option besides needles or any other location on the body?

  • As far as I know, no- these meds must get through the body via injections. There are two types of injections: Sub-q which is this one, and easier, and then intra-muscular which is right into the muscle and hurts. You can see my progesterone-in-oil video for an example of IM. I think sub-q's can also go in the leg, but that's about it. Sorry.

  • is there any other option besides needles or any other location on the body?

  • also - thanks for this. I'm doing an egg donation cycle and starting Menopur tomorrow - I've gotten used to the whole injecting myself with the Lupron, but I feel a lot more confident now about the mixing part of Menopur! :)

  • Thanks Buddylover and Ronn! I am so happy I could help both of you!

  • I just wanted to say thank you for doing this! I start Menopur tommorrow and even though my RE showed me once how to mix everything and gave me written instructions it's SO much easier to keep everything straight by watching your three videos. You've been a big help.

    Thank you!

  • Did it work? My wife is having trouble producing eggs and we are researching options. And also, was it very expensive?

  • My Menopur injections are going to be costing me $65 per dose.

My insurance will cover infertility testing, but not treatment. You should check with your insurance provider to see what kind of infertility coverage you get. :)

  • Menopur is used for treating infertility in women. Menopur is generally used as part of an Assisted Reproduction Technology (ART) program. Menopur is combination of hormones. It works by stimulating the ovaries to produce eggs. Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is then given to cause ovulation (release of an egg). It also stimulates sperm production in men with certain types of infertility.

  • Video wouldn't play

  • What is it for???
