  • this song rocks! reminds of the 80's melodys....nice...

  • I loved this song about '95 along with the Connells '74-'75 and Sophie B. Hawkins 'As I Lay Me Down'. Great times, bring back the 90s!!!

  • Great song, reminds me of being trapped by depression. Christmas 95 into January if memory serves. I was depressed Oct 94 - March/April 95. I clearly remember listening to this sick to my stomach unable to eat, sleep, drink or enjoy anything..only despair. Good times :)

And it had nothing to do with Lesbianism, it was just because it was in the charts at the time.

  • I love her voice, those melodies

  • they went to scarbough collage at the entrance to scarbough thought they were from there orginally

  • Why is it always songs like this that become forgotten. I remember THIS along with Sophie B. Hawkins - As I Lay Me Down as being two of my most favourite tracks of 1995!!!

  • Proper love this song plus they are from Hull :D:D U goo girls xx

  • Refrain always makes a goose bumps on my skin...

  • @GjeraX To me also...Awesome!

  • SEX is exactly what it's about. I have 2 song co-writes on the album. Cheryl and I, in the past, have fucked each other senseless. Independent Love Song is about SEX, shagging, fucking. The song is about a woman taking control of her so called "love life" and reducing it to sex, BUT the sex that SHE wants. If you're that bothered about it, email me at nick@nicklangley.co.uk and I'll forward your comments to her.

  • PS This is an absolute classic and an amazingly beautiful song!

  • She wan't singing about having sex in a different way you stupid morons... Shows you how base you all are! It's the best song ever written about love... Love... That is a different word than sex. It's 4 letters as opposed to 3 to start with! ;-) And it means something totally different... Now don't get me wrong... Sex is great, but it's not love... And Scarlet did not sing about sex... You really have not loved and been loved (experienced love) if you don't get it straight away... Done venting

  • @coppertop2710 You're wrong, drama queen.

  • @coppertop2710 This song is actually about love between women. Doesn't mean your point is wrong, just that it's got many meanings.

  • @coppertop2710 please don't go, tell us what love is!!

  • @kadgi - You need to figure that one out yourself. Or ask one of the other 31 people that seem to agree...

  • @coppertop2710 hell yeah, i'm gonna go places!

  • @coppertop2710 nah. you fail. its about sex.

  • @Culturealimprovement Of course it is, no question.

  • @coppertop2710 bloody hell, you know EVERYTHING! sex is great! gosh thanks for telling all us "stupid morons" we'd never have known, without you! Stop hiding your obviously immense genius behind a bushel, reveal yourself, and let us all worship you, you patronising twat!.

  • Shows how good music was in the 90's that this didnt even get in the top 10. If it came out now it would piss all over the shite in the charts.

  • A song for lesbians, but still a good choon

  • WoW.. tolles lied.. i love it..

  • yeah it's 1995

  • Bloody hell, i can't believe i had forgotten this song until now!!! Wot a classic gem that has been forgotten. Where are Scarlet now???

  • hey, not only girls go down in girls.... men go down on girls 2 :P so i really love this song and i'm not a lesbian... and it turns me horny listen it and thinking in my man :P

  • @luigy1182 you are on your arse

  • love this song, its very beautiful

  • Tahle písnička je prostě super...

  • Hey guys, Im having a lot of trouble finding this song I can't put a name on. It was super popular video on Much Music and MTV too I think during 1999/2000. I think it was called "Love Song" but its not this one. In the video theres a bald chick singing and the video has a red-wash look to it, and the video is very "sleepy" overall I remember a few scenes are shot in a winding staircase too. Please help

  • @a4d2d0 immediately thought of Skunk Anansie - Hednonism is veery 'sleepy'... and Brazen is all red. no staircase though.

  • The video was filmed on Saturday 13th August 1994 in Times Square in New York - I saw it being recorded but my camera's film didn't develop (aarrgghh!)...

  • Ein Song für die Ewigkeit !

Schade, daß dieses markante Duo so schnell verschwunden ist.

  • @njm1971nyc

they are definitely from hull in england

  • there neither they are from Hull in England

  • My favorite song from Now That's What I Call Music! 30. Released in Spring 1995 <3

  • That was my favouite now thats what i call music. on double cassette!! remember them? I think the background was brown tall buildings or something.

  • These buildings/skyscrapers are the background from Now 31, released in Summer '95. Now 30 which features this song (number 8, CD 1) has an orange sky and a beach as its background =)

  • damn... close though

  • I loved this song when I was a little girl and I still love it.. <3

  • Are they scottish?

  • Lembrançasss...!!

  • thanks for the song!

  • I was only 8 when this came out, and I can't believe it didn't get higher than where it ended up in the UK charts at the time, which was at No.12. Brilliant song, such a shame Scarlet didn't continue their success further. Thanks for the post!
