  • That smart ass on the end spoils this show.

  • Yes in 1960 she married her Director Richards Brooks.

  • I think that it's a shame that today most of her fame was taken from her and that she has basically faded into oblivion due to Gene Simmons. The fucked up rocked of today who dosen't deserve to share anything with this woman of class :(

  • Lovely actress!

It's a pity that she could not find a man in her life, like Spartacus.

  • @franklindavid

She did She married a big time director when she was still lovely and young.

    GOD Bless,

    -Miss De Jian

  • Heavens to Murgatroid! That was a LOT of fun to see today for the first time! Jean Simmons was one of cinema's greatest talents....in looks & acting ability. THANK YOU for posting this clip....you've MADE my day & my week! :-)

  • I've had a HUGE crush on this woman, ever since the first time I saw "Spartacus." In the dictionary, for the definition of the word "adorable," all they need to do is put a photo of Jean Simmons there... and everyone will immediately understand what that word means.

  • @sweeney60 I don't think dear Jean had a voice double for any of her songs in Guys and Dolls, including "I'll Know". It certainly sounds like her. Sam Goldwyn specifically asked that she and Brando do all their own singing. (And what a lovable performance from the both of them, even alongside the great Frank Sinatra and Vivian Blaine.)

  • @twtape i wait i was mistaken, she made a comment about how she didn't really sing, what she meant was that she didnt think she sang very well, i personally thought she was quite good, though i still resent that they cut out marry the man today, that song would have been a hilarious duet between her and vivianne blaine.

  • @sweeney60 Maybe she was too nervous to do a whole song with Vivian! x> Her voice wasn't as strong, but you're right, she did well.

  • @twtape maybe, but i think it was to crucial a part of the musical to have just been cut out.

  • How can he get her name wrong??!!!! :/ I LOVEE her...(Im playing Sarah Brown in our production at the moment ...Not as good as her tho looool) R.I.P Jean Simmons :( xxx

  • My, but she was beautiful!! She is missed. RIP.

  • "Ms. Simmons is an addition to our program no matter what the circumstances." My goodness that's classy diplomacy! Where have charm and manners gone since the mid-20th-Century in America?

  • Wow, i've never heard her voice so high before...

  • My favorite scenes are from "the big country". her & greg peck were just fantastic together. if you have not seen the film check it out.

  • @whiskeyify My favorites too. A great western. After seeing the movie, I went to the used book store and bought the book.

Not only beautiful but adorable as well. Wow, what a doll.

  • oh how gracious Arlene is !!

  • i love jean simmons. was she originoly used as a Vivien Leigh clone? in my opinion she is a cross between Elizabeth Taylor and Vivien Leigh a very beautiful woman

  • Well said, I agree she's a beauty in the same caliber

  • How little Hollywood stars knew about hyping their movies back then or even about hyping themselves. She seems very unrehearsed and unscripted and, of course, beautiful.

  • Jean Simmonds is soo cute! Love her!

  • Took the words right out of my mouth.

  • LOL!! how fast did she get out of that chair wen they asked her to sing!! lmao!!

    GOD Bless,

    -Miss De Jian

  • @jimvs1 Totally agree - one of my top three favorite films. Did you ever see her in "Daisies in December" with Joss Ackland on Showtime (Cable TV), back in 1995, or "December Flower" on public TV in the late 80s. In both, she gave beautiful and poignant performances.

  • @chalomirof63

I never have,I'll have to check those out.Thank you.

    GOD Bless,

    -Miss De Jian

  • She sings fine in the movie. Not amazingly, but fine. And she looks gorgeous.

  • A musical with Marlon Brando and Jean Simmons in leads and Frank Sinatra and Vivian Blaine in secondary parts -- let's see MTV try to top that! Thanx for posting. Jean Simmons was a great talent which Hollywood unfortunately misused to a major extent.
