@chandigorom The electro-luminecent technology causes the cable glow when it has power, not pulling more power to light up. It's kind of like the burners on an electric stove, apply power and they glow (also creating heat and isn't quite as energy efficient but same process none the less).
So it uses up energy to show you the charging status but then saves energy by shutting off once its done? Seems a little counter-productive...
