Great song ,great lyrics as relevant today as when they were written.Cameron wants to steal our health service and give it the bankers. They cant run the banks let alone our hospitals. UNITY IS POWERFUL a message to us workers to fight
Weller is an absolute legend, this song was a real lift back in the day, as a veteran of the 84-85 miners strike its difficult to forget the contributions made and for me this still gets the juices flowing....
Does anyone have any chords for this song, Guitar preferably...? Im not to hot at working stuff out by ear, and it doesnt look like weller is actually playing any particular chords here.
Are you gonna be threatened by the public enemy in number ten those who play the power game they take the profits we take the blame, what lyrics our kids get simon cowell
So fucking under rated... I'm still bitter The Style Council (and Paul Weller) didn't get their proper credit. :) *And yes, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE The Jam too*
@Shverina The Style Council were pretty huge for those of us in the know, I saw them 3-4 times in London around this time. FABULOUS post Jam incarnation.
@Shverina Where as I agree that the Style Council may have been underrated in their time, they've certainly stood the test of time. And Paul still plays from a full repertoire of 1st class material dating back from the early Jam through to today.
Its easy to slag someone in the limelight like weller ok he went astray with some of his ideals but just cause some one has money dosent mean they cant care about less fortanute souls, and like some of you lot never got anything wrong no ones perfect. And when you look at it hes smarter than us hes the multi millon air right. one word jelousy!
Although I'm a huge fan of both Weller and the Jam, I can't help but concede that Pricejames has made a very perceptive point. Many of those in positions of wealth and influence who preach socialism, practice capitalism. theparkersuk, I'm afraid you have a very narrow and idealistic viewpoint of a great musician, but one who can't also claim to be a social prophet.
i agree..a bit disappointing but..nonetheless still better than most guys his age! trust me, im not all that old either...and i like paul...plus his lyrics are better than most..even tho he's lost his creative edge a bit lately..i blame noel
Walls come tumbling down? So does this awful song! Ah well better than what Paul normally sings: "Vote Labour Vote Labour Vote Labour." Strange that seeing his children in private schools. Good luck to them - don't preach Paul what you can't do!

Great performance, great song. On an anal-type note - are they the only band to ever perform on TV with a synth, an organ & a piano?
