  • oh yeah and 2:33 to 2:36...hahaha!

  • I can't listen to this without thinking about a certain movie. About a school. Horny teenagers. Was it Fast Times at Ridgemont High?

  • This is the degrassi "schools out" Tessa and Joey song by gowan and the Joey/Caitlin song is "all the lovers in the world" by gowan

  • Dammit, in my mind, I just saw a scrawny little Joey at the beach with Tessa *mind bleach*

    I love this song though.

  • I heard this in Degrassi

  • @sinfulgokussj I heard this one long before Degrassi.I think they just overkilled it on the show because it was Canadian content and they had to.

  • Jon Anderson just happened to be in the studio when Gowan was recording this....and asked if he could do backup vocals on this song.

He stepped in the booth.....and the rests is blissful history.

Only the Greats, can do something like that......

  • That looks like Teotihuacan. I wonder how they got the whole place to themselves to make the video. It's a pretty busy tourist attraction, isn't it?

  • I thought it a chick who sang this song, the fuck?

  • @RebirthWoWGuild. Are you a jealous D.D. Young fan? There is no need to "F bomb".

  • Gowan and Joe Satriani are aliens and that is so sick! Noone since has really used this as a music basis for their career.

  • It's a "loovley" song, as we Scots' say...

  • omg is anybody else loving his hair? <33333

  • Oh sick this was a Canadian song too. Degrassi memories

  • Yup, this definitely reminds me of Degrassi too!

  • Excellent song. I also love Degrassi. If you're Canadian and between 30 and 40, you probably still think of it as the "Joey and Tessa" song.

  • @earl77 I'm 18 and I think it's their song haha

  • @earl77 I'm only 23 and I remember it as the "Joey and Tessa song" :p

  • def in the top 3 of Gowens best songs

  • I got the song from when Heather and Wheels were making out. Oh. Degrassi.

  • Moolight desires ahhhhhh...

    Dangerous!!!

  • Videos are for ppl without imaginations

    You have the music...

  • where was this filmed?

  • @goodlooka33 I think at Machu pichu or a ancient maya city similar

  • @goodlooka33

At Teotihuacan (Mexico) ;-) Pyramid of the Sun and Pyramid of the Moon

  • The higher background vocal on the chorus is Jon Anderson of Yes if anyone didn't know.

  • @LongDrivesAtNight Yep! And I think that it's Jon Anderson's high background vocals that really makes this particular song sound so great. By far, my favorite Gowan song.

  • gowan was a big part ofthe 80s and me! I seen him live in oh, hmmm 1985 or 86 he held a concert in toronto in the summer in a place called: Ontario place loved it from there it was all gowan for me

  • Man, the chorus to this song is SO GOOD!

  • 13 people have no desire

  • loving the mullet :)

  • Great song in the old degrassi show/ I don't know why the song was not big world wide or maybe I am wrong.

  • L-O-V-E THIS SONG!!!!

    BRILLIANT!!!!!

  • I thought The Zit Remedy did this song. XD

  • At first I thought it was Phil Collins. I heard it on the radio, and I just love it. It's crappy, but I love it, a lot.

  • what a hot 80's gay.

  • good old scarborough boy was happy to see him receive the walk of fame here

  • I used to have SUCH a crush on him!!

  • @Sue71 Used to? What happened now?

  • @billboardnumber1 Well, I still dig the outfit, but the long hair doesn't do it for me anymore. I prefer my hubby now. I need to find an outfit like that for him, LOL! ;)

  • holy fuck i just heard this song on the radio thinking it was a chick and that it was awesome, but its a dude!!! WTF!!!!!????!!!!! lol

  • 13 people don't have mullets

  • His hair is so awful lmfao.

This song is amazing, Gowan you're awesome !

  • Saw him in concert w/ the Spoons back in the 80's. He's the only artist I know who made a mullet look stylin'..

  • Prog rock band YES lead singer Jon Anderson sings background and bridge in this!

  • When I was a kid I thought this song was about Batman.

  • the guy made some great videos. I was really young when I was watching them, like, 7 years old, and didn't have a clue what it meant, but I loved them. I thought Strange Animal was about a strange animal.

  • Yes it was on Degrassi. The video has been on Much Music 80's on Demand...He is great

  • This song is epic

  • i know how this dude feels moonlight desires under a full moon jus ripped and juiced

  • This is at chichen itza. How cool.

  • yes, every single canadian over 30 has heard this awesome song from the most famous canadian movie ever made.

  • I heard this shit on the radio today. I fell in love. I definitely should've been born in the '80s.

  • I met him at 2nd cup in Montreal yesterday. Really cool guy.

  • Hahaha...Jeremiah and tessa. Damn Snake ruined everything. Wheels cripples Lucy. Hahaha

  • nice hair

  • Beautiful voice and words

  • good song

  • THEEEEESE MOONLIGHT DESIIRES WANT ME!

  • 80s as fuck

  • Lawrence is my Kevin Bacon from Yes to Styx connection. This is video history. I like Larry but still like a Dennis singing Styx group,. but whatever. Jon is an angel, works well with others.

  • I was born in 64 and was 20 when this was out . Please someone take me back

  • @gaskan666

Actually, you were 23 when this song was out, ('87) and just hearing the music from that era makes me (age 19) want to go back as well. I LOOOOVE that genre of music ,and this song is beautiful- although I could have sworn I saw it here in the US :P

  • schools out was sick. ground breaking really

  • I was born in 84. I wish I was born 20 years earlier so I could have been around during the peak of this style of music.

  • joey+tessa 4 LIFE

  • wow jon anderson.......

  • Canadian Micheal Jackson I swear

  • Degrassi...Schools Out....remember this song.

  • what a sexxii voice! omg!

    I love yuuuu!

    xo

  • canadian chick ova here!

    =]

  • what a great talent!

  • Great song, I also remember it from the Degrassi, School's Out special from 1992. Amazing how fast time has passed. The classic Degrassi was way better than the next generation. Are a lot of you from Canada too?

  • @earl77 hey you might know some songs from the classic degrassi. look um in degrassi high season 2. in one episode its called "All-Nighter" when Cathleen found some marijuana in the bathroom and shes like smoking it with a couple of friends at a friends place.. there was this song playing in the background it goes like this "Mirror Mirror on the Wall, I stand alone..i see the beauty deep inside your eyes" if you know could you tell me the name of it please? thanks.

  • @earl77 oh yeah its also in degrassi, School's out. when the girl (forgot her name) she was drowning, and snake went to go save her..

  • @fakelove13 I believe the song was "House of Glass" by Malcolm Burn. The girl he saved was Allison. Another great underrated song was "Temptation" by Montreal 80s band "The Box." You can find the video on youtube or the tube as I call it. Stay cool.

  • @earl77 I loved The Box. "Ordinary People" was a HUGE it...

  • @earl77 thank you soo much! <3<3

  • This is one of my favorites from Gowan.. like this so much!! Long live 80's music.. I'll be a fan forever..

  • I love this song. And I love the scene it was played in. Go Gowan and Degrassi!.

  • como me recuerda a school's out degrassi high, precioso tema...

  • This is arguably the BEST melody to ever come out of Canadian music

  • nice

  • I sooooo love this song/video. The young adults from degrassie era might have grown making mullet jokes but this video shows that us seasoned gals (old enough to have "young adult" children had some beautiful men with mullets when we were young adults. Don't wonder that many mullets got lucky to this song as it gave the girls leaky eyes and made all of us fun, mullets and all. I find the now seasoned Lawrence Gowan to still be scrumptous even without the mullet. He brings seasoned depth to Styx

  • i agree with this comment Joey Jeremiah & Tessa Kampineli

  • his other songs are good, but this one is AWESOME!

  • his songs are awesome!!!!!!!

  • he sounds so good!!!!!

  • OMG It's '80's music and it's Canadian. Just love it for what it is. I love everything Gowan. Just listen to his other music. I honestly don't think anything will beat the eighties, ever.

  • Larry's still in the game!!!

  • this is the Joey Jeremiah and Tessa Kampineli song .. thumbs up if you remember that . ;) .

  • @serpentine1994 Yup, wasn't it when they first kissed? What an awesome movie

  • @BadBoyofRock Actually it was the first time they made love:)

  • @serpentine1994 LOL - this song ALWAYS reminds me of watching Degrassi!

  • @serpentine1994 Degrassi all the way. Loved that show I will still watch reruns and not get sick of it. Joey so hot

    K.

  • @serpentine1994 lol...Degrassi.

  • @serpentine1994 degrassi schools out ! pretty deadly!

  • @serpentine1994

sad thing is i do remember, started watching the Degrassi jr high, again, a few weeks ago, up to season 2 of high school now,

  • @serpentine1994 it actually was first used in degrassi high when heather and wheels make out at the twins party...sorry im a degrassi fanatic haha

  • @cHelsLeeR Hi there, I wasn't aware of this! I actually thought it was first used in School's out. Well there you go. I watched it the other night, and have all the series on DVD too. I will watch that ep and hear out for it! Cheers :)

  • @cHelsLeeR it's funny you mentioned that because i first heard this song during the old degrassi movie when joey and tessa were making out...then i heard it again in this degrassi high episode and that's when i started getting into this song...i think the next time i make out with someone i'm definitely gonna play this song

  • @cHelsLeeR True, I remember..

  • @serpentine1994 I think any hook-up, i'm watching the wheelz and heather hookeup epidsode and this played hahahah

  • @serpentine1994

    You f'ed tessa kampinelli?

  • ssshhhhh keep it down man

  • @eburton86 yeeaaaa degrassi all the way!!!!!

  • @serpentine1994

  • @serpentine1994 I love, love this song! The first time I heard this song was in this movie. I only just watched it last night. Have it on DVD! And all the Degrassi series :-) It's a great soundtrack all round. Harem Scarem to name a few.

  • but i think we can all agree the video could have been better lol

  • @KittyKittySunshine No! it's perfect! peace!!!!!!!!

  • this song is fucking timeless. If there is a final playlist i listen to before i go, this song is on it.

  • super chanson toujours d'actualités .......

  • Ahhhh Gowan and Degrassi go hand in hand for me. I don't think there was an artist featured more than him. I miss the 80s and early 90s so much

  • @sabersgrrl Yes I would agree with you I miss the 80's & 90's life was so much better.

  • Hey look, 12 people have bad hand eye coordination.

  • 1:57 Epic mullet action!

  • I absolutely love this song and he's so passionate in this video!

  • Thanks for posting! Saw him live in '85. He was amazing and SOOO sexy.

  • had to watch degrassi only had 1 channel on tv back in 87 cbc was in salmo bc too:)

  • time to bring back the bad hair days..lol

  • legendary mullet

  • Saw "Schools Out" as that was the year I graduated. Don't remember this song in it. The scene I remember the most was Wheels killing another cast member in a drunken car accident and going to jail. So ironic as his parents were killed that way. And Tessa had an abortion without even telling Joey she was pregnent in the first place. Not a happy ending but realistic. My question is that the singer from Yes singing near the end of the song? Starting at about 2:36?

  • @Bohner33 Yes it is the singer from Yes...

  • @Bohner33 this song was after joey and caitlyn had sex

  • love this song. i've heard it a million times and still sounds great.

    thanks for posting it.

by the way click on my name and check out my videos. hope you like them and tell your friends.

  • Thanks "Degrassi" for ruining a great song

  • I've loved this song ever since I got into Degrassi a few years ago. "School's Out" was made the year I was born and I still love it. Degrassi and this song are so quality. :-)

  • the best!

  • this paticular Gowan tune reminds of "School's Out" Joey and Tessa's theme lol

  • @vardiss22 This song was in "School's Out." It was played during the scene in which Joey and Tessa have sex after the food fight in the kitchen at her house. To me, it was the most memorable scene in the movie.

  • saved by da bell lol zack !

  • This song was in Degrassi High! Jeez I thought this was woman until they zoomed on his face!

  • Man growing up in the 80's was great.

  • @aioffreda

    yes it was!

  • It is a good song. I'm just glad I heard it many times BEFORE I saw the vid. ;-)

Actually, the vid has some cool element...though I had no idea Gowan was so...um...ambiguously gay magician....but until 2:37 I had gotten by with eye rolls and winces....then came a serious laugh out loud, which is fairly rare from me! Still....it doesn't of course mean he isn't an excellent musician...just had some questionable tastes in video artistry in the 80's ;-)

  • @datacipher i didn't see gay magician (lol) as much of a player of the air harp. i'm not the biggest fan of the 80s, more of a 70's gal but i love this song. despite the artistic direction of that decade, gowan looks hot, he is in great shape and i'm digging the invisible rope pull.

    wrists crossed.

  • Love this song, Gowan is so underrated

  • @sliverrx7 He just couldn't keep the hits coming though. Too bad. He had such a great sound.

  • Anderson upstages Gowan
