I like this version 1 billion times better than the original I do not bleet like a sheep its b-a-a-a-ad for you lol like too much sugar... silly children....anyway so to all the haters "this version, i like--" hey man waaaa lol i hate this version waa i like the original even tho this is better waa lol (Madison Rayne wave) waa this sucks waa lol pussies lol
I like it! The Death In June version is a kind of twisted cover/re-interpretation as well.
"He's Disabled", "The Mourner's Bench", "Because of Him", and "Little Black Angel" are covers/re-interpretations of songs from Jim Jones' People's Temple Choir 1973 gospel album He's Able. The original songs were "He's Able", "Something's Got a Hold of Me", "Because of Him", and "Black Baby", respectively"
Death in June appropriated Jim Jones' hymn and changed the lyrics so that "Black Baby" (the original name of the song) then became "Little Black Angel".
Anyone singing "Little Black Angel" is very much indeed covering Death in June's version.
Pfff... they cut out the best line of the song: "When out of men's hearts all hate is gone, it's better to die than forever live on", but what did you expect from some PC electronica act?
I just cringe at the idea that this classic DiJ song will become a dance hit in some greasy electro club in Europe... I actually hope they didn't give Douglas P any credit for this fuckin mess...
too many people focus on lyrics. the music is amazing! this song is gonna make me happy for years to come. I could care less what the song is about. Even when I listen to Helen, I listen to key, tone, melody and harmony before I pay attention to lyrics. after a hundred listens, i pick up the words. smile, enjoy the song! Ladytron keeps getting better every record and I am hooked currently on this and "mirage". can't wait for the US tour! <3 ladytron
cry cry cry - did I upset the little catholic. How do you find the time to watch youtube, aren't you busy raping little boys or gay bashing or burning heretics etc etc. Oh wait i forgot religion is tolerant
@IROT1334 haha, wrong again. I'm atheist. And I don't get what you have against 'gay bashing', you seem to be ok with hating people just because they have different worldview :D
I think you mean anti-religious - I don't know what a sucka is. Being tolerant of intolerence, which is what religion is, doesn't make you tolerant it makes you a hypocrite
@IROT1334 What do you think this song is about? It's a re-write by Douglas P. of a People's Temple Song from the 1970s. You know. Jim Jones. The one who caused the death of innocent people by making them drink cyanide laced flavor-aid. What is it about?
@IROT1334 INNOCENT PEOPLE!? If religious nuts want to kill themselves, I say go for it. It's called Social Darwinism. If only the Pope could get his followers to drink the kool-Aid!
@dubmaverick69 I'm quite certain they did... You have to go through a bunch of red-tape to acquire licensing rights when doing a remix or cover on a commercial release... Red tape that requires the bands management to contact the original copyright owners of the original song (Boyd Rice and his label)... I'm sure Mr. Rice was more than happy to let them release the cover and perhaps even flattered as he has quite an eclectic taste in music...
Oh my God! That's why I love Ladytron they always are keeping their sound so fresh, you can notice the evolution since 604 and right now I'm so exited about Gravity the Seducer that would be their new album. Thanks for uploading this amazing track.
Absolutely gorgeous, heard the 30 second clip a while ago so it's nice to finally hear it in full. Any idea if this is planned for release after Ace of Hz?
I dont know, but there are two new songs on the internet from the album "gravity the seducer" (i guess they include them on that album), you can find those tracks at the ladytron unofficial forum.
It's so energetic. Its such a trip. I'm in love. Its pretty faithful to the original but way louder and faster. Again, I'm in love. Daniel, Helen, Mira, Ruben...will you all marry me? You guys could be sister wives. Think about it, and get back to me love. Sloppy kisses.
