  • That's an awesome Information.

  • If there were a little voting table on the side of videos to have viewers vote whether a politician is telling the truth, what concrete evidence would we have that the statistics are indeed tamper-proof? With this tool which is the internet, how do we keep it safe from being a source of misinformation instead of information? Just some important thoughts to keep in mind.

  • @glowsofelsewhere alas the only way is trust. this is true of news organizations, politicians, etc aside from personally going and researching every claim (a process which can take anywhere from hours to days to weeks to do) the only way to know if you are being lied to is to get information from a trustworthy source. the only hard part is knowing if the source is trustworthy. ive found peer reviewed journals a good source for scientific information, but for other information i dont know.

  • The statistics and numbers were great and helpful but I hadn't heard anything really new, in the 20 minutes i listened. Im sure it was just warming up to the even bigger stuff. . .I'll try the rest after a break :).

  • Very eye catching title. Would be more accessable and interesting to potential audiences if the description were more clarified. (Its a pretty long piece.)

I'm glad to hear from someone who is also very passionate about what he is sharing. But the edge in his voice turned me of too much and my ears couldn't finish it. Rough on the nerves.

  • Ubiquity of information? Everything is information, and therefore it's of course ubiquitous! Narrow that definition and then it will mean something.

  • A very interesting position by someone with access to lots and lots of information. I liked his views on hot / not so hot careers - good insight for university and entry-level workers

  • Thanks Strati5, that's helpful.

I would really like to know what the video is "about" before I spend 30 minutes watching it.

  • phi beta capitol? for a high tech talk, this took too long to download.

  • first!!

  • ¥T

  • i want 35min videos! i guess if you own the site you can have it....

  • why do all the google vids have the turn down the lights thing i wan it too its not fair at all :-)

  • turn down the lights option comes not only for goole videos but also videos which are very long.

  • pompous git

  • good

  • fuck...

  • yes quite

  • I love the idea of having facts appear ubiquitously. How come google can't anoint phrases like, US GDP, for example, with tooltips that have the value? That would improve discussions here.
