@mechanictp hey what you mean, when engine has extra power rpm-s on 1-st 2-nd ,and evan on 3-th gear engine are faster than his rpm meter when you see 6000 rpm the engine is on 7000 i hope you understand that the original BMW rpm meter has delay then powerful motor and needs more time with constant rpms to show real rpms i have log files on my pc :)

@cherniybumer16  yes if you decompress it on 9:1and with write tune of fuel and ignition you can boost it on 1-1,2 bar withot of problems you will need stronger clutch too. Wish you luck :)

@juandavidgon you need to remove the carter and drill angle hole on the block then weld some pipe and that's it the returning oil has no pressure and because of that point of returning level must be higher than oil level in carter hope you understand wish you luck. pp: try in M42clubDOTcom there has more info ;)

:) 7200 is 2mm after 7000 here you can see more than that and original rpm meter is too slow than engine on 1-st and second gear engine revs much faster than original rpm meter i khow that becouse i have log files from my SMT6 engine managment system. This is a old video from my 318is turbo it is boosted only in 1 bar of boost i have other videos here with 1,6 and 2,3 bar of boost witn much more power try them and then send a message :)

It will seriously weaken over time, but im pretty sure hes modified the engine to handle the amount of power its outputting, like stronger crankshaft, piston rods, valves springs, manifold all that. And it might not even be the same engine lol

instal turbocharer and four extrainjectors ,instal smt6 and map sensor and tune afr and ignitin timing, At o,7 bar of boost you may have 260-270hp and 300+ nm torque from stock engine witn stock internals without decompressing. If you want more horspower and torque you must change pistons rods and bearings get big turbochrger(Turbonetics GTK-450)

I have a 318i but i wanna go for a 325i or a 328i and Turbo it, i think the sound of a 325i is perfect (wit the right exhaust) but on the other hand i like the torque of a 328i, but how much quicker is a 328i turbo than a 325i turbo wit the same set-up in 400m?

if the difference is not that much i will buy a 325i

btw what is the compression of the pistons in ur vid and what type of blowoff-valve did u use?

325's were stopped in '95 or somethin, and 328's replaced them.... but 328's have nikasil liners in the block that corrode. They wont last with a turbo. the 318is is a twincam 4cylinder cast iron block, thats why they survive turbocharging. all that work to a 328 would be a waste of time because it will just roll over and die

I say thats and ever sized lie ! I own a 318 myself and the sound of the engine (on this video on 8,000) is exactly the same as on my car at 6,500. The RPM/revv meter HAS been played around with. The RPM/revv meter is wrong !

you must be shure that on first and second gear the original rpm meter is to slow then engine becouse in bmw factury they did't imagine about that fast rpm change when y see 5000 rpm on first gear the engine is on 7000 rpm i so that on log files,but if i hold this rpms for just e short time the rpm meter shows trully rmps 7000 the same like on my laptop my e36 318is on 2,3 bar of boost has 380hp and 460NM on rear tires i have video here with my car on dino
