  • Ive played every zelda game and this sounds just right if you think about.... including twilight princess and phantom hourglass. But with Spirit Tracks already out, I believe it goes last when the timelines reconnect from oracle of seasons and ages

  • Aaaaaaah minish cap does not go first!!!!! Ocarina of time does!!!!!

  • ALTTP (a link to the past) couldent have been after LA (links awcaning) because in LA link is in a dream and the final boss is a nightmare and nightmares reflect are fears but the problem is nightmare takes the form of the evil wizard from ALTTP (cant spell his name) and nightmare also takes form of another boss from ALTTP so that must mean he has seen him. and i dont think it was a warning because he would have never see him again.

  • Majora's Mask is in-between Ocarina of Time, since you look for Navi as a child, but you defeat Ganon as a child. It's very confusing.

  • And i zero zelda phantom hourglass ,do not forget!! =D

  • I zero Zelda minish cap ,zelda ocarina of time ,Zelda mask's majora . '-' ,I start a game Zelda Oscea of season and Zelda four swords, games are mini =D

    T_T

I want to play Zelda four swords adventure *-* ,It's very very very coool!!!

    \o/\o/

  • Zelda 2 is the last one.

  • why does it say part 6 at thebottom? lol

  • because it came from Gametrailers haha

  • nice timeline it really is a good one

  • Spirit tracks comes first! O.o

  • The Ocarina of time is first!!!!!

  • you are a RETARD. minish cap doesnt come first

  • GT must think of the next Zelda game for DS I think this yr.

  • I like this one but its rong(ish) Nintendo them self stated "unless otherwise stated each game has a different Link and Zelda"

  • how... in majoras mask its the same link from ocarina in time.

  • read me post nintendo sed it was a sequil

  • yes at the end of ocarina navo go away and link go to the lost wood to find her

  • That was NoA. NoJ doesn't tell NoA anything. Miyamoto announced he has the official timeline locked up in the NoJ Headquarters.

  • hey i was reading my old reply comment things, and i was wondering if you could give me a link to that interview?

  • ITS NOT FOUR RORE! IT'S FA ROAR!

  • thank you some ppl r just stupid

  • its not spelled like that farore

  • cool

  • Soon after Zelda 2 is the Four Swords Adv- (end of video)

  • Wrong!

  • I thought that Links Awakening was a sequel to A Link To The Past.

  • This timeline is all wrong. Watch Ocarin Hero's split timeline theory. He's right on!

  • im this persons bro

  • never mind you said that that man gave him the NON duck thing hat

  • you said the cap was given by that man or something but why doesnt it have that top duck thing anymore does link find a hat or the other hat gaave him the hat to him

  • This is actually one of the lease believable timelines I've heard. Leaving aside the fact that, as far as I'm concerned, the Four Swords/Capcom-developed games are all non-canon gaiden games, the assumption that the Link in Link's Awakening is the same one as in Ocarina of Time simply makes no sense. The evidence overwhelmingly points to it being the Link from ALttP, most significantly the fact that before the Wind Fish's Nightmare takes the form of Ganon, it fights as Agahnim.

  • they are not non-canon, where does anywhere say that. they are perfectly fit in the story.

  • Well, that's based more on personal conjecture than solid fact. They were not developed by the internal Zelda team, they openly borrow elements and characters from the main games in the series, and they were not developed by the regular Zelda team or overseen by Eiji Aonuma. So as far as I'm concerned, they are not canon.

  • Oops, redundancy.

    Oops, redundancy.

  • This is totally believable. Bravo.

  • great theory, but i have my own.

minish cap was first, and then was ocarina. And majora's mask was right too. BUT, link and Zelda get reincarnated several times, (explained a few times in games) and most Links are adults, but alot are kids. so, let me explain. one kid died and was reincarnated. he didnt realize he was link until he grew up. that's when that game starts.

  • this one makes the most sense

  • So.. how can minish cap even fit? The three goddesses created Hyrule, and left the triforce. So the triforce is always in Hyrule... but it's never mentioned in minish cap.

    Weird.

  • funny because Minish Cap was my first zelda game and now I own all of them.

  • minish cap isnt the frist one

  • Wouldn't it be easier if Nintendo made the first legend of zelda game's story the first part of the timeline? Then the next game will continue it? Then the timeline will keep on going with the following games.

  • yeah, but they didn't...

  • yea lol...but they did the same thing with metroid

  • lol 3:31 you got the dates wrong!

    (1998 + 6 = 2004) :D

  • I think four swords takes place after Minish cap because the hero link has experience, however he has never fought ganon

  • looks right to me

  • wow. you guys think 2 hard. and i like it.

  • I bet that Nintendo has a timeline in a vault, planned from the very beggining, and in 30 years Shigeru Miyamoto will make an announcement, hold up the timeline and say:

    "It exsisted all along, biatch."

and then laugh at us. .___.

  • good job with GT's video

  • very interesting, but as you said in the beggining i dont think nintendo intended for all of the games to fit together just some... like wind waker and phantom hour glass. any way nice vid (:

  • This timeline was terrible even before TP and PH.

  • Very good job on making this time line, youve done your research:)

  • This is the BIGGEST load of shit I've ever watched, it's like they never played a Zelda game...

    Worst timeline EVER!

  • thanks for posting. this is one of the best time lines for this series i have ever seen

  • Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass hav 2 b last bcuz Hyrule was flooded

  • Seriously?

That's no valid reasoning, as first off the time line is split after OoT and secondly what kinda argument is that anyway?

What does Hyrule being flooded have to do with anything?

You can't tell if any game is just taking place on one of the larger islands.

  • A few FACTS to consider when making a timeline.

The Original LOZ comes after OoT.

    Link's awakening comes after Oot.

Zelda 2 comes after the original LOZ.

A link to the past comes after Zelda 2.

  • Minish Cap is the earliest and Gustav is the first hero of time

  • he is the hero of men. not time.

  • how can a link to the past take place after links awakaning when the final boss in links awakaning is a nightmare and as we know its links nightmare so it reflects on his fears so why dose the nightmare take the shape of that evil wisard (i forgot his name) from a link to the past when he was never in any game of the games earlyer in this timeline?

  • maybe it was trying to give him a warning

  • possably

  • Think about it.

At the time those games weren't made with any particular timeline in mind that strings together every single story.

That's the only real reason the Nightmare takes on the form of Agahnim, but of course you can interpret it as being being some kind of omen as that other guy said and just go with that, which is actually necessary to be able to even build a reasonable Zelda timeline theory, as it's all just an afterthought.

  • However, it is plausible that Aganhim is a nightmare because Link has already fought him and he's back haunting him in the dream world. (Meaning that it instead goes LttP --> LA)

  • Nah, here's the most rational explenation.

LttP was made before LA without a timeline in mind, like always in the Zelda series.

Then afterwards, it's place in the timeline shifts because of other games' stories implying so.

  • Even if it was supposed to be shifted later on in the timeline (or earlier for that matter) you still have to remember what it says at the beginning of the players manual:

"Hyrule was saved, Ganon was defeated and the Triforce resurected. Our hero goes in search of more adventure..."

  • If you discredited the fact that that Link was the same one that defeated ganon and united the Triforce (LttP), then you could just credit that even though Moblins were made in Ganon's figure, somehow they appear in the Minish cap, even though in this timeline the Minish cap is before Ocarina of time, where Ganondorf turns into Ganon.

  • ya but the Moblins were seyald in pedistl that the ms wos in so lol

  • Yeah so?

At the time that's what it was supposed to be.

But hardly matters now, where you have to ignore such things in order to string together a time line of all the games.

  • Fair enough, but if you discredit everything- in the end, what can you credit?

Like it's pretty much safe to assume that the crappy tv show could be discredited, as it wasn't even Nintendo that produced it.... or the CD games, because they just blew in general. And you could probably say that the super smash bros. doen't need to be credited either.

But to discredit pretty major facts from the Classic Zelda series is not really a good thing.

  • Well you see, the manual is just something they put together in order to explain the game to the player in an introductive fashion.

I don't even think they were written by the writers themselves.

So in the end, I'd say they pretty irrelevant compared to the story in the game.

And after all, we are not trying to find THE real story line, because considering the different games keep defying old theories, there doesn't seem to be THE real story line.

    All we can do is---

  • ---figure out the story line that makes the most sense going by the material we are given now.

  • Fair enough.

I'll send you what I think the actual timeline is.

  • The Zelda timeline is a true mindfuck.

  • Comment removed

  • zelda had to fuck up the timeline so badly

  • ...i feel mind fucked

  • the zelda games are noooot connected they were created to enjoy individually as completely seperate games

  • there is no timeline. the games are legends (stories) and have nothing to do with each other. unless stated by the games (like OoT and mm are related..)

  • yea thats kinda what i was saying...

  • I always thought he left Hyrule in search of Saria, not navi. But i was never sure

  • ...my brain just blew up

  • A good theory I heard was minish cap, four swords, four swords adventure and link to the past were all after phantom hourglass.

  • no your thinking of the Philips CDI games, four swords wasn't horrible, but it did need improvement, and it was a necessary part of the time line

  • majoras mask is a dream........ lol thats why at the begining of wind waker link wakes up

  • Where did you get that from? Link doesn't even go to Termina in the timeline Wind Waker is in.

  • thats link wakening on the game boy thats a dream not majoras mask.

  • its not "oh-carina" it "ah-carina"

  • watch part 2 retard

  • fuck u ese i did read my comment on part 2 but the video is by the same person though not a different one

  • omg...*sigh*

    Zelda has no timeline

Each game is to be looked at as a individual not a sequel or prequel.

That why its called the "Legend" of Zelda not the story of Zelda

Legends can be told in different ways and preconceived in different meanings as they re in different cultures

The basic story of Zelda is the same in each game, just told differently

Though sometimes games will be "linked" as a sequel or prequel but that only happened once in the Zelda series

  • I agree, even though it is fun for some people to come up with different theories, it's a crazy hobby, but it can be entertainment somewhat.

  • The only thing is that in Minish Cap master smith says that Link and Zelda are childhood friends and in Ocarina of time Zelda does not know who link is. So that must mean that ocrina of is the first one. But then what happens to majora's mask since take's place straigt after ocarina of time and what the hell happened to his hat? This is so confusing.

  • it could be a different zelda perhaps

  • minish cap is a whole new story...

  • Definitively Twilight Princess has the best graphics, Ocarina of Time the best story and also Wind Waker was cool in it's own way. Minish Cap and Phantom Hourglass are also good, but there is no Ganondorf :(

I haven't played the other games, but I bet they are good as well.

  • Yeah Twilight Princess grapics were the best because of the mature content and graphics. I`ve heard that Twilight Princess was the first Zelda game rated teen because of that.

  • no, actually there were zelda games to be rated "T" before that...i kno that "Ocarina Of Time" is rated "T" and so is its sequel "Majora's Mask"

  • They're rated E. I own both games and there are big fucking "E"s on the cartridges.

  • excuse me, i said something wrong...big deal

and who cares, you have no life if you get mad over a game rating

  • it wasnt that good oot and ww and mm were way better it was a good game but it was disipointing 4 a zelda game

  • Yeah there are like statues with BOOBIES in a cutscene or two.

  • u know the way its called"the LEGEND of zelda"

so maybe ITS A STORY OR LEGEND!!!

  • 2 shoud be frist

  • Ocarina of Time is the greatest zelda game ever made

  • THAT IS BRILLIANT SOUNDING!!!!!

  • that sounds like the announcer at gametrailers

  • um it is if you look closely in the begining youll see the word "GAMETRAILERS"

  • There is no absolute timeline. The creators don't want one to limit their creativity when making games and their plots. To try would be in vain since the timeline is hardly put in mind when the ideas are created.

  • there's zora's in OoA so that proves it's in the adult timeline

  • Zelda, one of the best game franchises

  • Link to the Past happens before Zelda I. no one knows for sure bout the Oracle games.

  • Good theory for the most part. However, I have a couple problems.

    1. The Link from OoT that saved Termina was a little kid. The Link of Link's Awakening is a teenager. The MM adventure took only 3 days. If they are linked as they say they are, did he just sit around for 5+ years before trying to return to Hyrule?

    2. My understanding is that Termina is a parallel world to Hyrule. How is it that he could return there by sea?

  • i think i can answer question # 2. Link never knows that termina was a pararallel world to hyrule. therefore, nintendo can make the story that link tries to return to hyrule without breaking the timeline.

  • It may have just been the animation, but link was 11 in OoT, so maybe he was a young teen.

  • well for 1: link could have been trying to find many ways to get out but could not so after a year of looking -he was 12 or 13 in mm - he was 14/13

for 2:LINK didnt know it was a fake world but he went out any wayso he could have enther a different hyrule

  • Oh? I had heard Link was about 10 in OoT...and MM took place about 3 months afterwards. The Link in LA looks like a teenager, 13-14 maybe.

I still don't know about the whole Termina thing though.

  • It says part 1 this is part 6. Change the name.

  • no its part 6 toa rtrospectiv

  • its part six of the zelda retro spective but the first part of the timeline

  • ok so at around 5:10 he talks about a war, what was that all about?

  • in the temple of time when your talking to the old guy he tells you about a war

  • he wouldnt of been in search of navi from what i read in majoras mask he was looking for saria why would he be looking for a fairy that anoid the fuck out of the game character and the gamer

  • it's Navi. why would he search for saria, she's in kokiri forest.

  • fuck you its not navi

  • It IS Navi you dumb fuck!! you can hear her sound at the end of the intro.

  • no1 noes who the fuck it is but its not navi fucker

  • Everyone knows who it is, its Navi, its ovious, dumbass, who else could it be. NO ITS NOT SARIA, THATS STUPID

  • god your a wanker

  • lol nice reply (sarcasm)

  • If you just said no one knows then how could you be so sure that its not Navi? Even though it is, Navi is the only thing it could be

  • he knows saria is going to be the sage of times so he thinks she is safe and the reason he is looking for the fairy is bc unlike us he liked navi and missed he

  • 2 shoud be frist

  • also what i never got was why navi left him you know

  • Maybe she thought Link could take care of himself.

  • it's becus he was a hylian and not one of those tree kids therefore he did not deserve a fairy of his own (too long scince i played the game to remember the name of "the tree kids")

  • people if you dont like it o well its his theory

  • theres a flaw! if in zelda a link and zelda tell the king thust changing time dramaticly including zelda b

  • plz make another video that corrects that

  • u placed twilight princess wrongly, other than that, it was great, twilight princess comes after Oricle of ages/seasons after they combine the two timelines.

  • TP wasnt out when this was made, so they couldn't accurately place it.

  • He don't make this!

    Its from GameTrailers!

  • links awaking is out of place

for the nightmare has a staff

which he dose not get intill

the four swords which is on

    side A

  • so I have a question, (hope you guys can awnser):

are they all the same links, and if not when do they become different links, hope you can tell me.

  • They become different Links at the end of Ocarina of time, and the Wind Waker-Phantom Hourglass Link is also a different link from the Majora's Mask timeline.

  • Wait, no. WW-PH Link is from the timeline where there is no Link, called Hyrule B here.

  • brilliant

  • i haven't played through far yet but in 4 swords adventure isn't your enemy vaati not ganondorf?

  • nope Vaayi is the greatest enemy in Minish cap ganondorf wasn't even born then

  • Vaayi isn't part of the same canon as Ganondorf.

  • But wasn't it a stated fact that the gods had the Master Sword created to end the great war and that it was only a hundred years old in ALttP? Am I really the only one who read the four pages of back story in the ALttP's players manual, because it feels like it.

  • it makes sense but gt places twilight princess wrongly

  • All Zelda timelines are wrong for the simple fact that OoT and ALttP are either taking place in two different continuum or they happen a few years apart from one another. Now if the latter is right then the OoT Link is the same Link that is in Zelda one and two. But at least I know you aren't going to believe me because you haven't ever paid attention to the back story of the series and think that it's possible for there to be many Links.

  • Ok wait how could they say that Link traveled by sea back to Hyrule from Termina and began Link's Awakening when at the end of Majora's Mask it is shown that Link is back in the forest that he started out in looking for Navi with the Skull Kid. If Link already made it back to the forest area why would he fall back down the hole and travel by sea somebody explain this.

  • tp's placement is wrong

  • You are right! =D this timeline is all wrong

  • who knows from which game the song at 1:15 is and what it's called?

  • im not so sure, but i think its the one that appears at the beginning of the minish cap... name unknown

  • okay, thanks!

  • Hyrule B confused me too.

  • the twightprinsess should be in the middle because it takes place in both a and b the b part is when ur in the dark hyrul before it got flooded and the normal part is in hyrul a

  • U might think im noob or waterver but i think there cannot be any game after tp including ganandorf, cause at tp end, ganondorf eventually killed by Link.

  • Woahhh thats cool! Thanks

  • that's james home Hyrule aka Nintendo nerd

  • never mind its awesome

  • so the master sword and the picori sword are not the same? theyre completely different blades?

  • Nope they are 100% different blades.
