@doyengicp Because it's a telecaster and they suck at holding their tune. They're got such a good tone though, Buckley figured the extra tuning was worth the sound.
@TheColdWeatherPilots filing a nut to the string gauge we use isnt that big of a deal. any tech do it in a couple of minutes and any tele would stay in tune afterwards.
same goes for the saddles, breaking his strings on stage countless times. honestly, a 30 min job would have made his gigs flawless on this account.
But, he always used these mishaps to joke with the audience.. so its hard to complain afterwards :p
I played Jeff's version of this track at my mums funeral - even though she repeatedly told me "not to play any rock songs"... and I just got a tattoo to match the title... beautiful meaning, beautiful memories, beautiful Jeff.
I find a lot of his stuff meh, but when h was good, he was amazing. Such a shame he died so young, he had a lot of music left to share.
This is the song I want played at my funeral as it sums up my worldview. Appreciate life for what it is, be happy with what you have, and live and die a satisfied person.
Don't edit out the tuning or anything else. Keep it as is. Unless there are 20 of this exact same video, it is truly a shame that this has less than 5,000 views.
i wonder why he never fixed his guitars ^^ he always lost minutes and minutes on stage tuning them.. and he's not even hard on his strings..
well.. its all forgotten when he starts singing
