I'm interested in how you attached the hardtail to the frame and the adjusters where the rear wheel attaches. Do you have any close up pics? Thanks, and nice scoot.
Mine's a '79 kz650 kick start only. The thing wont driver or idle right. Carbs are rebilt, cleand, rejetted and syncd. New battery, oil, spark plugs and oil filter. Running it with pod air filters and open headers. Once it's been started, the idle goes crazy, either shooting up to 6K rpm or bogging down to a stop. If I try & driver'er once she's warm, she stalls. I pull in the clutch, shift to 1rst, give gas, slowly release clutch and she poops out. Any 1 got any ideas?
how did you sync the carbs if the bike won't even idle? have your tried the ignition? your points could be off. or could be that idle valve got funked when you rebuilt the carbs.
Tunz and the cowside; thanks for the feedback. I put that comment up a good while back. I got help from a grey beard who's been tweaking kz's since before i was even born. He got my bike running and everythings cool now. She's not pretty but she runs like a scalded dog! Putting a stretched swing arm on her, goin for a rat bike/ chopper kinda look. Thanks again to both of ya'll for the feed back.
Mine wont idle right or go into gear. She's a '79 kz650 kick start only. Running it with pod filters, open headers and rejetted/rebilt/clean/syncd carbs. In any case, she'll kick over than the idle goes berzerk, up & down, over & over. 'Gotta stand gaurd on the choke switch to keep it from rev ving too high or boggin down. Than, once the engine is warm, I pull in the clutch, shift into 1rst, try to get her in motion and NOTHING. She shuts off everytime i try to to drive. Anyone got any ideas?
