oh my god! Thats not true or is it? Such a nice song translatet in something like ah yes very terrible. Thats the Problem here in Germany some things better kept untranslatet. For example: the john Candy klassik movie: Goin Berserk was translatet into: Auf die Bäume mit den Affen der Dschungel wird gefegt - translatet back to english. On the trees with the Monkeys the dschungle will be cleaned <-- terrible. But keep a look on the Censors while searching for the video mama papa zombie

Even if I'm German, I have to agree. I don't know why German versions of English songs usually turn out way shallower than the original. "This ole house" is another sad example.

And it's not as if we didn't have great songwriters here.

Indeed, it's a really horrible version of the song. But it was 50 years ago! Today Brits, Russians, Krauts and people from all over the world are drinking together everywhere on this planet and are listening the same shitty music.
