  • hahha simpathic :)

  • More theatrical in style. Belly Dance has become so versatile in adaptation. I like this performance; the directing and camera work are nice. While I'm not into the whole bed of nails tie me up thing, but part of why I like the video is because it's different; including her looks.

  • I don't like tempest, but I keep looking her up to see if there is any dance I will appreciate. I still have hope but her movements are too abrupt, and I've never felt energy when I see her perform live. There is only one performance posted up that I actually liked. I want my opinion of her to be proven wrong someday.

  • @SpitefulSiren I agree. I like the music, I love her costume, but everything I've seen of her dance seems to fall flat for me. Its not the technique or the theatrics of it all that people are commenting on here, its just that the energy isn't there.

  • LOL. This is like some sort of dark cabaret belly dance.

  • i like =)

  • I don't mind this video and I always find myself wanting to get up and dance but I gotta say from watching alot of Tempest' dancing I would not classify her as a belly dancer more like an off shoot of cabaret. Just saying.

  • @HookersFancyMe Agreed.

  • The music is so wrong

  • This is really bad

  • Tempest is UGLY!!!!!

  • if you dont like the video why would you come here stupid asses awesome video.

    :)

  • @afropagangirl11223 How would we know we like a video without watching it first?

  • Exellent

  • Love it!!!!! Come on guys credit the music who is it?

  • Wath an awesome skirt !

  • She is so talented! Great video, awesome and beautiful dancer!

  • She is so talented! Great video, awesome and beautiful dancer!

  • When are people going to learn that there are MANY forms of dance and each person has their own style? It's not about what you "think" dance should be. It's about what the person dancing FEELS. I am a belly dancer myself and I dance to everything: rock, metal, pop, tribal, and folk music. It all depends on the mood I want to project as to what kind of music to which I dance and how slow or fast I move. All dance is art. It's a form of expression and doesn't have to live up to anyone's standards!

  • this is not a belly dance... maybe its a bad replica and thats only maybe..

  • @LibertineDeSade ahaha = ) so you describe what a belly dance is to a Turkish guy!

Well, I have been watching it since my childhood... and this is not belly dancing... this is a bad replica, thats all.. and may be a trial of an artistic aproach, however if you ask me it failed long time..

And I guess its you who is talking about things you donot know...

  • @toonch let's see you do better

  • @toonch & actually, yes, it is

The moves & combinations in there are used in belly dance

    Don't you feel foolish

  • I love this, looks like so much fun.

  • I love the idea of it, but it's just a tad too cabaret influenced for my liking.

  • 71 justin bieber fans

  • I love this It puts 2 different things together burlesque looks & attitude with belly dancing. Great idea.

as for you, aspelenie I don't have to say anything you said it yourself ignorance isn't pretty. Not at all.

  • Go get em kid! Keep growing and learning, you look great and have the balls to get up there. Good for you!

  • @nightsister69 oh, finally.

  • @VioletScrap I appreciate that you come back and look at this old video regularly, and I hope that one day, you will find your own voice as a dancer and discover how difficult that path is, if you are brave enough.

  • el arte de mover el culo :P

  • this is so fun and swanky

  • I think is more about a concept than a dance itself

  • I find her dancing amateur at best. Her dance vocabulary seems to be very limited.

  • I also love her look and costuming but have to agree with MotheWifeand Dancer's & KyCurvy'scomments on the actual dancing. I am not trying to be nasty or disrepectful, I am aware of how well regarded this performer is and am sure she dances becuase she loves to... but that does not mean I have to enjoy watching her dance. I try and understand how she is intepreting the music but am at a loss, I find her simply out of time and quite awkward in her movements.

  • Tempest is really great. I love her dancing a great deal, the song, the dance, the costume all fits.

  • @MotherWifeandDancer - like you said, to each their own. I find that those who truly appreciate her work, enjoy that she's not an Indigo/Tribal Fusion copycat, that she has her own unique style, extremely creative, and is a tremendous and gifted instructor. If you're looking for the same-old, then you probably won't like her. Try checking out some more recent video too, this is like 5 years old - still fun, but she's far more technically advanced now I think. Her steampunk stuff is amazing!

  • Just Awesome!

  • Ganz wunderbar.

  • pretty costume :)

  • Lovely...Just lovely...

  • MWAH

  • Great costume, great music. I love those aspects, but I don't see movement control or technique at all. Still, interesting.

  • NICE NICE!!!

  • I love !!!

    Muito original, adorei!!!

    Parabens!!!

  • marishka,verona o aleera?

  • alucinante!!!!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!

  • Jill Tracy "Evil Night Together" Album: Diabolical Streak

  • Well, it's not healthy to repress your wants, you know, so, by all means, get to it!

  • beautiful, love the style.

  • wow! really gorgous! i've never seen belly dance beeing dace like this way, that's so cool!

  • me encanta

  • mi video de belly cabaret favorito

  • NICE!

  • how is that song called??

  • its called evil night together~ hope that helped!

  • ALA K BAKAN TE KEDA ESE ATUENDO

    GENIAL

    .

  • its amazing!

How is the song called? I love the melody so much.

  • Very inspiring!

  • Gorgeous! I love the song and the outfit. Almost like a saloon girl.

  • She's amazing.

  • It plays slightly off for me too, clearly a computer/youtube or soundtrack issue, her dancing is awesome.

  • I love it!

  • I love this! It reminds me of some of the old black and white films from olden days!

  • What's the song? I like it.

  • there is NOTHING wrong with this performance except professional jealousy!!! It gets 5/5 from me.

  • I have this on dvd and this shows the true version of her timing, not messed up cos of streaming etc.

  • Sexy ^.^ I want to see more

  • beautiful

  • I'm dying to meet her :)

  • I would have added a little more dance moves but omg after getting all into jill tracy's music you so nailed it with this dance your awesome

  • very nice overall effect...i used to dance before i had a baby and broke my back & neck (that will put a crimp in your fluidity!). at least i can still watch.

  • talvez no sea lo nas tradicional pero no se puede negar que la musiquitam esta mona

  • The song and dance are good, though the dancer could work on fluid transitions (couldn't we all? :D) To the poster who said "Bellydance is kinda sexual provoking", research your info on Bellydance. It's not used to entice men/the 7 veils "Hollywood movie" glamour. It's something women of families/tribes/villages pass from mother to daughter. A form of story telling, self expression, & aid in control during childbirth ect. Travel to the MidEast & research, I did & learned much while I was there.

  • you said it, U2. but don'r men always watch what we do? lol

  • Thanks, I agree men & women watch what we do, (a reason for public performance or instruction DVD). But when people start thinking this is about sex or to entice (thanks to Hollywood), then it burns me up that people have a 1 set mind and go on ignorance instead of putting forth a little effort and doing some reasearch. Is cracking a book and reading some form of torture these days? :P

  • Belly dancing's core can be viewed as a discipline...in order to dance in any "style"... egyptian, turkish, gothic, tribal, etc. etc.

It requires muscle control, coordination, flexibility, isolation of movement, all while looking calm and stunning regardless of body style!

If you watch this video, man or woman, I suggest you stand up and try that part at 2:07

It is not sexual. It is Art...a really difficult one at that.

  • Thank you Absintine, you hit the nail right on the head :)

  • You got that right!!

  • I like the way she's very expressive with her body, although the dance didn't felt sexual (compare to the song and the fact that belly dancing is kinda sexual provoking dance)but the dance actually delieverd a fun feeling which is fitting to the song

  • Huh, I must be missing the part where she removes her clothes. If by burlesque, you mean it has sassy personality, then yes, then again, more fusion dancers could certainly benefit from having personality and attitude.

  • With the internet now everyone can discover what is going on. But I saw bellydancers in gothic clubs dancing to gothic music dressed as they interperted in the 1990's in San Diego California. Maybe because the computer was not in everyones home at that time for the movement to spread. There was no U tube. So now expecially anyone who is in thier twentys might not know that yes there was gothic bellydance then. It just was not widespread.

  • finsterthecat: That is true, as I was one of those gothic bellydancing girls in the clubs in nor cal, back in the early-mid 90's.

Still, Tempest is a true innovator, and she has inspired the best gothic performers out there today; that counts for something.

She has taken gothic bellydance into her arms and made something beautifully stunning, and new out of it. That is enough to call her the mother of GBD in my book ^____^

    Tempest is AMAZING!! <3

  • Tempest helped transform Gothic bellydance from girls just dancing in clubs to a respected art form presented in a theatrical/professional context.

  • Beautiful! I love the song, and what a fabulous outfit!

  • love this! it has a 1920's feeling to it,very entretaining...

  • that was really beautiful, it shows how beautiful the female body is :) even us gothic girls are pretty ;)

  • I love Sashi, she was the first Gothique BD I stumbled across on UTube, & she hooked me in. I searched for more & found Tempest, Anaar, Ariellah. Then researched Goth bellydance, so to clear up a couple of things:

Sashi attributes the Goth style to Tempest and refers to her as the Mother of Goth BD & therefore considers all others to be the daughters of Goth BD.

She is bang on with the music on my puter.

I think in fusion/goth/experimental styles technique may be altered slightly for effect

  • Everyone enjoys diffrent things. But I do believe she is off beat.

  • must be your connection, cause it's right on every accent for me. Unless by "off beat" you mean cool and unusual.

  • This is really great. She's much better in person to see, but this video does capture her style. She also just performed at Dracula's Ball at the Shampoo nightclub this past weekend.

  • Oh my god, I LOVE this!!!!

  • bonito =)

    fabulosa de mija

  • This looks like great fun - and she's really enjoying herself, that's awesome!

  • Fabulous!!!!!! What's the name of the dancer?

  • Tempest

  • A most stunning lady, and this style of dance/costume in a real treat. I am totally in love!

  • i have this dvd and definately my fave performace of the two she has on it.

  • About This Video

song: "Evil Night Together" by Jill Tracy from ... (more)

song: "Evil Night Together" by Jill Tracy from "Diabolical Streak"

  • What is the song in the background...? Anyone?

  • "Evil Night Together" by Jill Tracy

  • It's called evolution and originality.

It's not all about tribal anymore. People can bellydance to pretty much everything, so long as it has that beat or mellody.

  • she is creative, visual and freestylin' tempest rawks!

  • beautiful, i love this style its like victorian showgirl meets gothic dancefloor.

and she dances so well to the music flowing with the beat.

some people .....reading the comments really dont get it do they!

  • love it!

  • child, your age is showing. Death and Metal are not the only type of music out there, and this is GOTHIC bellydance. The only person who looks like a fool here is you. Ignorance isn't pretty.

  • @aspelenie She's expressing herself! Who the hell are you to call her a fool for doing what she loves? Ignorance is not bliss...

  • @GamerfulCody (@NathanLanham2005 thanks for the sentiment & support - :) just wanted to point out that aspelenie's comment is from 3 years ago before youtube changed the comment threading layout, and was in reply to someone else's comment which I think has long been deleted/removed. That's who he/she was calling a fool.

  • i have this CD! i didn't think anyone else knew this song!

  • Love her bustle! Love this video. Thanks. :)

  • love this DVD, and have to disagree with "NuclearWintre" - Jill Tracy's music is AWESOME - and it works perfectly in mood and style! After watching this DVD, I bought the whole CD and love to practice with it! Expand your horizons! Those other gals are good too, but different, good for us nonindustrial peeps--gimme lace and velvet any day!!!!

  • Very nice, so different from the usual sensual type of belly dance.Would love to try dancing this one.

  • This music is more suited to a burlesque performance. It's quite possible to incorporate belly dance moves into a burlesque performance, however. The song is fun and the moves are nice, especially the staccato hip moves. :) Oh, and I LOVE that skirt!

  • I love the song, and I've always loved bellydancing. <3 Gorgeous.

  • tempest is awesome I really like gothic bellydance

  • like the pants

  • To Hit004541: It's called tribal fusion. Ya know? A fusion of alot of things. You should know that.

  • You should get updated on the new fusion styles. Bellydancing, as other dance forms, is evolving. You don't have to love it all, but let those who do love it just do their thing. :) I don't get this "it's not bellydancing" thing at all.

  • Destroying? I'd say developing. You don't have to like it, as I said. But all dances develop. New styles are invented and so on. Get used to it.

  • gothic is a sub culture, dancing is dancing, just as belly dancing - wearing different outfits, ect doesn't change what it is: bellyddance, how can a sub culture be a dance?

  • No, there are definitely stylistic differences between branches and offshoots of bellydance and fusion bellydance.

  • Wow, I love this mix of themes. very interesting and captivating...

  • Fabulous, I love it...

  • "Evil Night Together" by Jill Tracy I love this song now!

  • I have the dvd and I love it, I'm still a uber newb at dellydance and I have bad knees but I still try and I like hers the best. cool attitude and clothes. I love nouveau.

  • beautiful. just beautiful

  • Deviantly and gothicly beautiful.

  • I love how she lookes so... content. Her dance is just enough for her, and we get to watch, because she's got a good day going on. Oh, I dig the attitude.

  • Well said! :-D

  • Wow, I just found out about Gothic Bellydancing...I really wanna take it up now....but I don't think my teacher's gonna be too pleased. (I'm still a neophyte to Bellydancing.) Tempest is INCREDIBLE! I hope I get to attend one of her workshops!

  • Tempest is awesome. went to one of her workshop she is so hilarious. and the jill tracy cd is really good.

  • Was wandering what the music is. Anyone?

  • Jill Tracy.

  • Best performance on that DVD. thanks much for posting.

  • I love Tempest's 1920's burlesque look and how that attitude comes out in her dance!

  • nice blending of elements; excellent theatrical dance

  • Wow it looks like you channeled a lot of ghosts for this one. Stunning as always.

  • It's bellydance meets Cabaret w/o being Vegas cabaret style belly dancing. Ditto...love this.

  • love this
