making that must have been the most frustrating shit in the world, i can imagine moments where they were like: "fuck this! im tired of this pointless shit!" but then in the end it was worth it and "thank god it fucking worked."
OMG has anyone seen "Metalocalypse"? Remember those two nerd scientists trying to taking turns saying every other word in the description of their new pure water analog recording process, or "H.E.A.R.D." (H.ydro-E.lectric R.cordinational D.evice)??! LMAO!! ...........The two nerds opening this video - same thing!!!
@pizzacrime This is funny, but I was going to say that they remind me of the two Jomfu Brothers from Metalocalypse, from that episode Fan Day where they try and steal DethKlok's song to put on their website. Give the black haired guy a goatee and a wheelchair and it's them.
oh man, I once did something like this for my 5th grade science fair project. However instead of Black Sabbath's "Iron Man", I used "Calling Dr. Love" by KISS.
All record players destroy vinyl records. Vinyl records wear out because the needle is always wearing it out. So no one here is being all that smart when they say these guys are wasting the record.
What they are doing is showing how record players ORIGINALLY worked. This is how early record players worked. New players are like electric guitars in relation to acoustic guitars.
@faithycoins Yeah and guess what, in 20 years they will be multimillionares while you are working at a McDonalds, you better start praticing. Say it with me "would you like fries with that?"
Guys: all record players work by putting a sharp thing in the grooves. Most decent quality needles are made of diamond. a straight pin isn't going to do shit.
"Lego" is the brand name. The term "lego" is a colloquial usage of the name to refer to one of a set's pieces. The plural of "lego" is "legos" just like the plural of "band-aid" is "band-aid" (another brand name adopted into common language).
You guys do realize that listening to a record on ANY record player wears it down, right? I doubt a metal pin laying at that angle is doing any more damage than a diamond-tipped needle would do.
@787Bisurdaddy plural of lego is legos?? and actually record players vary on how much they wear the album. The finer tunrtables are very well balanced and smooth action and low wow and flutter. This would def. wear the record quicker, but they obviously used a record they don't care about.
"The finer tunrtables are very well balanced and smooth action and low wow and flutter."
That really has absolutely nothing to do with how much a needle will wear down a record. What matters is the material of the needle and the angle that it sits at.
@787Bisurdaddy actually ,if you read up on turntables (esp. the real expensive ones) they are expensive for that very reason. The tone arm weight alone is a huge contributing factor on how the record wears. Just like some idiots play elec. records on the old victrola's, but if you study up on it you will find that if you do that you will cause extreme wear on the record (esp. in that case beacuse the design of how the needle tip
@DevilsLeprechaun Tears? This is ONE COPY of an album. There's got to be millions of the things out there in Goodwills across the nation in vinyl alone, not to mention CDs and cassettes and maybe the occasional 8-track. Your masterpiece goes into landfills by the truckload. Save one of those if it bothers you so much. Save ALL of them, make it your life quest. Become one of those crazy people they show on the news who can't move around their house because they never throw anything away.
I strongly fear, from this record will not be left after this playing in the meantime any more much. It might be scratched by the used Metal completely.

Ironman came out in around 1970, on the Paranoid album i think, what media do you think it was published on. Cassettes were around (but relatively new) and used for Paranoid, but vinyl was still used up into the 80's and Paranoid was indeed released on vinyl in both the US and UK. If you look around you can still find the vintage releases, though the pictures that came with some are not still there.
Yes IT MOST CERTIANLY DID!!!!!-On The LP,"Paranoid" In1970 on Warner-Brothers Records CDs were introduced in1983-84 Iron Man was on vinyl for many years!!
Oh God! How could you do that to an original "Paranoid" LP pressing? I bet it sounds A LOT better on an old Dual or Thorens from '71. You probably should have put the microphone right above the horn. That little motor's not holding the speed so well, but it's pretty close to the 33rpm range. At least it doesn't sound like it's on 45 speed. Nice build, you guys. Next time, use a crappy Warrant LP, or maybe something by Poison - something you don't mind damaging.
guys calm down they aint gonna ruin the record the cone is PAPER it wont mess up the record only a very sharp or hard object like a needle or something would not PAPER

Wow, now I've seen everything! You guys obviously love records or you wouldn't have put effort into such a thing. However, unless the record was in pretty bad condition to begin with, I don't know if I could use an ORIGINAL green labeled Warner Brothers copy of Sabbath's "Paranoid" album for an "expierement."
