I think people who hate new crash haven't even played the new crash games, they're acctully fun, people just judge on the way crash looks, its still fun to play
I remember playing this at 6, first game I ever played...had to use a code to get past ripper roo (I could've sworn he was luck-based!!), but did the rest on my own :) good times...Jak was also really good, but don't really have the time or money to play uncharted now :(

So MOM is bad for expanding Crash's moveset and giving the series new gameplay? That makes no logical sense. Changing the core of a formula isn't bad.
@vgman94 So, it's ok to screw up pretty much all the villains? I don't get it. The new gameplay is like a diffrent game same mascot. You get crystals, but not the way they used to. It's stupid. There's not really a challenge. Crash games used to take ages of time, to collect ALL the gems, relics, and Crystals. Now you punch things, until they die, then ride them. Rinse, wash, repeat. When I beat Crash of the Titans I was thinking, "that's it"? After you beat old games there was loads to do.

Neither are particularly imaginative or appealing, but because Tiny's original design was in a popular game, it's chosen over the new form. How many people stick around to get 100% in the old games? I only finished them 100% fairly recently or through cheats as a kid. Otherwise it's spin, jump, slide and repeat.

And being the mascot that he is, he shouldn't need to ride on bigger monsters to fight his own battles, he's crash he should be doing everything! I've played every single crash game too date and am sad of what it is now. Even if it's trying to reinvent itself and keeps things fresh, it was still done the wrong way.
ryaniscool I only agree on part of one point. Crash, being the star, deserves better gameplay than the Titans. But just as Batman Arkham Asylum/City, God of War 3 and Prototype use hijacking mechanics on enemies, there's no reason Crash shouldn't have the same thing, especially when it adds a new dimension to the gameplay. Whether he should do everything or not, the question is, is it cooler? More appealing? Keeping too much of the same thing doesn't help at all. Repetition is worse than change.

A given mascot should be able to do different things, and I don't mean spin-offs. I mean core changes after a few years. There's nothing wrong with keeping things fresh.

Most of us spent all our childhood days just playing naughty dogs crash series. With each release memories were born. Time catches up to us, the years pass by and we see our childhood get eaten up by new companies. We lost the one thing that CREATED our childhood. The fact that kids have missed this type of gaming and will be sucked in to c.o.d or other crappy games scares me. R.I.P Naughty Dog's Crash Bandicoot. My little brother and sister were playing call of duty on the computer while I was playing Crash Bandicoot. After a few moments they started noticing what was going on on my TV - and after a few more they were glued to the set, transfixed by this video game.
Thumbs up if you think they should make a new crash game on the PS3 simply entitled "Crash Bandicoot" that goes back to it's 2D/3D Hybrid roots, with fun, simple yet effective gameplay, that got it popular in the first place.
They need to reboot the series, and stop producing themed games. It went downhill ever since Naughty Dog stopped producing the games, but I still think they can have a shot at bringing what was once a Playstation icon back.
@Scullnblades Why did it go downhill in the first place? Wrath of Cortex and TwinSanity weren't "themed" games, whatever that means. Yes, Titans and Mutant were themed, but is that so bad? Why is sticking to the roots forever something good? Why can't games change into something new and better? Gaining a moveset and fresh gameplay isn't bad. Sure, stuff like the crystals, gems and the slide should come back. Even death routes and the like, but having new gameplay to give it variety isn't a sin.
@vgman94 I think the change was a bit too drastic for most people to accept. Honestly I loathe the newer Crash games because it had horrible CGI, horrible gameplay, the jokes were crude yet somehow bland...and of course the infamous character designs. Of course this is all my opinion.
@Kurasshu88 My question is what is so bad about drastic change? I mean, don't people want something new to play? I don't get the designs either, because aside from the masks and Tiny, most of them look very much the same with a few differences. I mean did people hate on Raiden's look in MGS4? Or Snake being old? Not nearly as much. The gameplay had good combat and the ability to control unique enemies. How is that horrible? Any other game with it would've been praised... Just saying what I feel.
@vgman94 Well not everyone is a diehard Crash fan. I had several friends who didn't play crash games for a long time and when I showed them an image of cott crash they cringed. I liked the changes in Crash twinsanity where the characters had different designs but are somewhat the same, mixing traditional with something brand new. Also the changes in personalities were a turn off too. It's just how society works, crash has a small fanbase now and not everyone would be so dedicated.
@Kurasshu88 The thing is while I'm a dedicated Crash game, it didn't take dedication to like the new designs. I welcomed the change openly. I don't understand how your friends could cringe since the designs aren't so different aside Tiny and the masks (and that's not opinion. I mean just compare it and there's only minor changes. The hair, tattoos and fur. But that's about it). I suppose. My only problem with the new personalities are the jokes. Some seriousness would have been good.
@vgman94 Yeah I see your point, but there's now a whole set of new games competing to top place while current crash games are like a B rated movie. It could be enjoyable to some but the first impression is usually what makes a hit or miss for video games, and for recent crash games, it's a miss. So it's just lost amongst better games to play. @Kurasshu True. Games like Prototype, God of War, Metal Gear Solid and many more overshadow the new Crash games and games of other franchises like Spyro and Ratchet & Clank. The only game that has still been in the spotlight was Sonic and even then, only faced with a lot of criticism. I thought the trailers (which give the first impression of a game) for MOM were pretty good, actually. Yeah, a few people have been like that. Don't worry though, I can defend myself pretty well against ND purists.
God I wish mine did it stoped working a couple of years ago. And crash bandicoot (1,2,3 AND crash team racing were my favorite games on ps1 including spiderman ) :D
Crash boom bang is possibly the worst game ever. Nearly every other crash bandicoot game is the best game ever, although CTTR is the only one I have managed to complete.

Or Snake being old? Not nearly as much. The gameplay had good combat and the ability to control unique enemies. How is that horrible? Any other game with it would've been praised... @vgman94 Well not everyone is a diehard Crash fan. I had several friends who didn't play crash games for a long time and when I showed them an image of cott crash they cringed. I liked the changes in Crash twinsanity where the characters had different designs but are somewhat the same, mixing traditional with something brand new. Also the changes in personalities were a turn off too. It's just how society works, crash has a small fanbase now and not everyone would be so dedicated.

@Kurasshu88 The thing is while I'm a dedicated Crash game, it didn't take dedication to like the new designs. I welcomed the change openly. I don't understand how your friends could cringe since the designs aren't so different aside Tiny and the masks (and that's not opinion. I mean just compare it and there's only minor changes. The hair, tattoos and fur. But that's about it). I suppose. My only problem with the new personalities are the jokes. Some seriousness would have been good.

@vgman94 Yeah I see your point, but there's now a whole set of new games competing to top place while current crash games are like a B rated movie. It could be enjoyable to some but the first impression is usually what makes a hit or miss for video games, and for recent crash games, it's a miss. So it's just lost amongst better games to play. So yeah not everyone has to like everything, btw if bunghole "purists" are shitting at you how "holy" the Naughtydog games are, I'm so sorry xD

@Kurasshu True. Games like Prototype, God of War, Metal Gear Solid and many more overshadow the new Crash games and games of other franchises like Spyro and Ratchet & Clank. The only game that has still been in the spotlight was Sonic and even then, only faced with a lot of criticism. I thought the trailers (which give the first impression of a game) for MOM were pretty good, actually. Yeah, a few people have been like that. Don't worry though, I can defend myself pretty well against ND purists.
