Ita was a story long ago, about how the old churches and castles were all *lined up* in order that one could easily find a true route through the area :) I wish I remembered more :)
I have had a quick serach through and you are right about that.The old religious sites were aligned to straight tracks and walking ways and also to stars and planets.Christian worshipful places were placed directly inside or over the old religion sancutaries and hillforts ets.

How special that you got to go there!! I went to Cornwall about five years ago, specially to see Tintagel Castle, amazing place.. beautiful!
