This is very interesting. Strussel did it again. But this time on Dec.16, 2011. Same place in Wall street Journal. Please google. Why Ron Paul can't win or WSJ.com - Opinion: Why Ron Paul Can't Win
wsj isolationism opinion is purely GOP stance. Repubs are forfeiting 2012 for obama second term, Repubs lost everything after forstern teeeebagrrrrz. the people who call the shots in iowa are blacks and latinos, who would you think will give his vote to Gingrich there, remember Iowa 2008 obama landslide victory. guess who was no ono of gop mike huckbee where is he now? in Israel begging zionazis not send him back to another gop circus. ron paul is not a premise but a surprise
@obaidkarki What I meant was, Kimberly Strassel Wrote "Why Ron Paul Can't win" Once on December 15, 2007, and she did it again on December 16, 2011 pretty much the same time of the year, and same place in WSJ. As if someone ordered her "It is time to bash Ron Paul again"
This is rather odd as I think about it. A guy who's not even American and has no concern for its citizens is putting so much breath into Ron Paul's balloon. Why? He wants the US. out of the Mid-East/Arab world.
That's why the Saudis are own a stake in and influence FUX "news." That's why they're so happy to promote the tea baggers, who are also supported by FUX "news".
Wow, you people aren't very discrete at all. Americans are just that easily fleeced, that's why you don't need to be!
Governor Mitt Romney is a RINO. He supports stringent gun laws. His Health care overhaul pales in comparison to the atrocity of Obamacare, but it was similar. He has never expressed public regret for this. He told Michigan residents at an event there that the financial services bailout was absolutely necessary. He stated you said that the Republican Party needs to pass "immigration reform" (amnesty) for new voters. He’d vote for Obama! watch?v=jPGnJmbDq08
Nice to hear a fresh and insightful opinion on these matters. After Caribou Barbie's interview the other night where she basically called Mr. Obama a wuss for not bowing down to his AIPAC/Zionist overlords and immediately attack Iran (where 25,000 Jews live btw) , she has clearly shot herself in the foot. Then she pulls in a snake-eyed Ashkenazi named Bachmann or something, with Sean ZioNAZI Hannity running the interviews? WTF?! Vote: Ron Paul
I'm going to vote for Barry Goldwater, but unfortunately he's been dead for awhile. I guess Ron Paul is kind of like Goldwater except they wouldn't really agree on foreign policy. So I'll just vote for Fred Thompson since I do believe in preventing genocide.
i love your insight and shortcut to fred thomson, if ron was not polling i will fred myself. incase you change your mind i love to have someone like you aboard in my neighborhood. i never lost a single voter, please dont disappoint me, by the way ron is as Goldwater
Brak2002 Well, yes I like Barry Goldwater as well. It would interest you that Barry Goldwater Jnr. (his son) has endorsed Ron Paul
check out: watch?v=W7r27Az_Mns
Remember they also claimed that Ronald Reagan was an "isolationist" and nothing of this sort has came out true. Some interesting parallels between Ron Reagan/Barry Goldwater and Ron Paul.
I know Barry Goldwater Jr. endorsed Ron Paul. My roommate has been a big Ron Paul supporter for several years and he told me that Fred Thompson is more like Barry Goldwater Sr. than Ron Paul is because of their differences on foreign policy. It was Goldwater who said "Americans must stand up to the tyranny of dictators".
Yes, know what you mean. One could make a case that on domestic policy, Ron Paul is closer to Barry Goldwater? Concerning foreign policy, you have to ask yourself whether Barry Goldwater would have approved the notion of "pre-emptive" strike, something that the Republican Party since inception till the Iraq bombing has never endorsed or practised.
And what would Barry Goldwater have said bombing Iraq (and Iran?) on the "proof" of weapons of mass destruction and an imminant attack, whereas this was never the case. I think - with all respect - he would turn around in his grave....
The Club for Growth actually gave Fred Thompson the best review out of all of the presidential candidates, even better than Ron Paul. They claimed Paul's strict ideology often put him on the side of democrats when voting for spending cuts and tax breaks because the bills weren't "perfect". On pre-emptive strikes, Goldwater would decide depending on the situation. Bush has only invaded two countries and one Ron Paul voted for.
Ron Paul did not vote to invide Afghanistan or for any "neoconservative" "nation-building" there; rather to go after Osama Bin Laden & Co. One wonders what does it help to vote for spending cuts and tax breaks on the one side, yet at the same time also supporting and voting for not only two most expensive wars, but also stationing the troops for a decade, building Vatican size embassies etc. helps and what sense it really make. Recond deficit is the result.
By "perfect", they meant "constitutional", which is a pretty big requirement! Also, the Republican leadership of which Thompson is a part that would keep spending hundreds of billions of dollars every year overseas ("only invading two countries" is very, very, very expensive) can hardly be called low spenders: they just run up large deficits, to be paid by your kids. Ron Paul has been officially named the "Taxpayer's best friend" in Congress for 20 years.
The Constitution lays out that the main responsibility of the federal government is the protect the U.S. from foreign threats. Besides, our current foreign policy only made up 15% of the 2007 federal budget. Ron Paul exaggerates the amount we spend on the military.
The federal govt should protect us from foreign and domestic threats. But what you, Thompson, etc. support, taking out foreign dictators simply because of their tyranny over their own people, is a different matter. Since US DEFENSE is a main responsibility of the government, then shouldn't our foreign policy be the one--noninterventionism--that least provokes terrorists, thereby defending ourselves from them? Yet the Iraq War, funding of Israel, troops in Arabia, etc. only increase terrorism.
Do you know about Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution and its 10th Amendment? Unfortunately, most politicians don't. Those are the duties of the congress, and in my eyes, all members of congress who have voted for anything not listed under Article 1, Section 8 is essentially a criminal--all 534 of them. That's what I mean by "constitutional."
And by the way, we do spend about $450 billion a year on "defense".
What about foreign aid to hostile countrys? Regardless due to the state of the world with political correctness running rampant, the US it'self is responsible for letting our enemys in... You hear about the mighty Jihadi airforce all the time. (sarcasm)
Certainly in the era of the cold war with soviet marxist conspiracy against us and world freedom Goldwater and of course my hero Reagan was right. There is no current analogy to the evil empire. We can take out Bin Laden and his terorist band without the neo-con nonsemse that a has largely governed our mid east policies recently. Discerning eyes my friend!
Goldwater Jr. endorses Paul for Paul's ideals so similar to those his father upheld. In domestic policy, Paul's positions more closely match Goldwater's.
Thompson, who supports the Iraq War that's killed over a million Iraqis and increased Al Qaeda's membership by 10x, may have good intentions. But I pray you'll join me, Paul, and about 70% of Americans+85% of the Middle East in seeing the world would be more peaceful with our troops out of the Middle East and all the countries they occupy.
Have you read "The Conscience of a Conservative"? Even in the very beginning of the book, Goldwater points out that it is the responsibility of Americans to stand up against the tyranny of dictators. Ron Paul has the opposite view, saying we should act as a neutral state like Switzerland and let foreign conflicts persist, even acts of genocide.
I know what Goldwater said and what Paul is saying. I am just asking you to consider whether in certain ways Goldwater might have been mistaken, because of the fact that where we try to remove foreign tyrants such as Hussein, the result is worse than the original evil.
Well, I don't think Iraq today is worse than when Saddam was in power. Plus Al Qaeda is abandoning Iraq and returning to their safe havens in Wazirastan.
Unfortunately, the only people saying that are the US generals. Asking them is like asking a CEO how his company is doing. He will never say "I'm doing a bad job, we're probably going out of business." Ask instead the stockholders--we taxpayers. 1 to 2 million Iraqis have been killed since the invasion; <1 million killed during all of Saddam's years in power. Al Qaeda's numbers are growing, and more men were killed in Iraq during the last 12 months than any other year since the invasion.
Democrat/Republican it really doesnt matter. Its whoever that will expand Israel's land. I believe if we dont understand this that it'll be Hillary (member of AIPAC) at the end of the day, especially if they have Huckabee on the republican side. A CAMPAIGN JUNKY asked a rehab MANAGER how you determine if a Campaign Junky should be rehabbed
Well said the MANAGER we fill up a bathtub then offer a teaspoon a teacup and a bucket to the CAMPAIGN JUNKY and ask him to empty the bathtub
Oh I understand said the CAMPAIGN JUNKY
A LIBERAL would use bucket because it's bigger than spoon or teacup No said the Director
A Libertarian would pull the plug
Do you want a bed near the window?
OR FOR VOTE FOR RON PAUL.

@Brak2002 So the founders wouldn't agree with Goldwaters foreign policy?
Ron Paul is almost a mirror image of Jefferson with a little Adams thrown in.
So if Ron Paul disagrees with Goldwaters foreign policy than so would the founders and therefore so do I.
