  • Still people, the uninformed like thinking Nader ruined Gore, in reality Nader pushed more votes towards Gore, it brought out votes. Bush's cousin, The Supreme Court and Fox news, and voter caging determined an election

  • Was Matthews being hostile to Nader or is it jsut me?

I would figure a guy like Matthews would be a friend to Nader.

  • Chris Matthews is such a bully and has no interest in listening. I hate the man.

  • Logistically, the electoral college makes sense, but not in terms of what's in the best interest of the people. What we should have is a popular vote contest- winner needs 50%. If no one gets 50%, we knock off the ballot everyone who got less than the spread between the top two candidates and have a run off.

  • I probably know a lot more about Duverger's so called "Law" than you...Why is a French Political Scientist's creation being used in America as a law for us to be governed by?Economist Kenneth Arrow argued that designing a perfect voting system was futile, because his "impossibility theorem" proved that it's impossible to design a non-dictatorial voting system that fulfills five basic criteria of fairness. In other words...Duverger's "law" would make this election a Dictatership!!

  • Vote Ralph Nader 2008~

    Nader has earned my vote!

  • Another powerful message. I served my country for 12 years on active duty in the military. First let me say I will vote for Ralph Nader!

What he is saying is that this country has been hi-jacked by the big corporations who have in turn made it a corporate government!!I believe it is time for Ralph Nader and other third parties to have a voice in the presidential debates. What is the debate commission afraid of??

  • Congressman Ron Paul will hold a press conference in the Ball Room at the National Press Club on Wednesday, September 10th at 10:00 am.

Barr (Libertarian), Baldwin(Constitution), McKinney (Greens) and Nader have confirmed that they will be there.

Nader even said today: "I will be there along with Barr and McKinney and there will be an unprecedented announcement"

Make like Paul Revere and "SPREAD THE WORD!"

  • Hahaha! What is the debate commission, run by the former chairmen of the RNC and the DNC afraid of? Just listen to Ralph talk..he'd wipe up the floor with them in a debate.

  • Everyone says he can't win. If a majority of Americans vote for him, he wins. It's that simple. Get out and tell everyone you can to vote for Ralph. Email, websites, forums, blogs, at work, at church... everywhere you can. It can work, if people stop bending over for the establishment.

  • Ralph Nader absolutely should be President. But the corporatocracy will never let that happen. And, that is an outrage, and probably will mean the end of America as we have known it. Well, democracy, albeit corporatized, was nice while it lasted, but I fear we should all be prepared for martial law, and a militarized police state. That is what is probably just over the horizon. (NSPD 51 + martial law + FEMA labor camps will fundamentally change the nature of this nation. And it won't be pretty.

  • this is the man who SHOULD be president...unfortunately he never will be

  • its amazing how often he is attacked by interviewers who end by saying at the end that he is one of their political heroes...

  • I never saw Chris Matthews in action before, but I have to say he's just as obnoxious as his reputation suggests.

  • Nader - HUGE pro-corporate whore. I hear he's thinking of helping the Republicans again this year.

  • Fraidy Cat. Must be a republican lips moving and lies coming out

  • Bucklaw, I think there's a hell of a lot to be afraid of, dude. Although I prefer Kucinich or Edwards, it's seriously time to take the lessor of two evils. If we had done that in 2000 (or if our votes had been counted properly), no corporate tax giveaways, no wars against the wrong county, and probably no 911. Nader should have campaigned FOR GORE! I despise this rich little arogant jerk.

  • Nader pushed Gore higher up in the polls, they have studied this. The party was silly since they did not have enough sense to run someone as an independent and as a democrat blocking that 10%-13% vote that independents or undecideds cast and send a Republican into office. Nader has done a lot of godd work and I wish he would get off his butt and support Edwards.

  • He would have pushed him even higher if he had run for him, not against him. Hell, he couldn't gotten a cabinet position! If Nader had actually worked to help get Greens elected ANYWHERE in the mean time between barging into the picture every 4 years, I would have respect for him.

  • I still respect his stand on making sure corporations work for us. He should stand up and not stradle the fence.

  • And if you would bother to do your homework about Nader, his reasons for continuing to run, and the American voting process--*before* you parrot the latest soundbyte from the DNC-- I might gain respect for YOU. Nader works for the future of America as well as the present, by setting the example that corporate America can and must be broken up.

Educate yourself about Nader instead of talking out of your ass.

  • Oops-that was a reply to an anti-Nader comment on next page...

  • Youre the typical demapussie.

  • 4:20 central time...lol

  • I'm living in the most democratic country in the whole world and see two big party's who are that similar... well, figure out why I'd never move to the states. Ralph Nader realizes why the democracy is low in the US and he have the best methods I've heard so far to make the US a much more free and healthy country.

  • We aren't democracy. We're a slightly democratic republic.

  • Ralph Nader is so ... ARTICULATE!

Ralph, you are a national treasure. You manage to think clearly, fight with stalwart civility, and stay focused on the public interest.

The comparison shows others -- like Chris Mathews attempting to sound provocative -- as just plain silly and distracted.

    Bravo, Ralph.

  • Nader makes the Jerry Springer former first family look like turd knockers. Stop the Clinton's lies, false promises, appeals to emotions about gender, race, class and age, while delivering decline. Keep them an shameless, uncouth former first family! Wake up USA!

  • Chris Matthews you have proved in this interview you have no soul. Chris barely gives Nader a chance to speak...I thought the questions were suppose to be hard not the talking over Nader when he attempts to respond. If the "sovreignty" isn't given back to the American people by 2008 this country will no longer be a super power and Americans will be voting with their feet.

  • I miss Nader.

  • Not going to the debate could be overcome throw your own and invite other candidates.

  • Vote Edwards lets take our country back and stop being sheep for the slaughter

  • oh i thought we lived in a country where we could vote for who we wanted, oh i`m sorry crybaby gore you can have my vote back

  • Shows like this are a good argument for reading print instead of watching television -- at least if you think political arguments are better made in complete sentences.

  • EDWARDS/NADER in '08!

    please?

  • The final days of Iowa Caucus or our Country?

  • I'll fight I'll fight john edwards

  • Thank You for everyone that fights him elevates him.

  • should have put that in quotes.

"I'll fight, I'll fight" -john edwards

  • It was Nader's fault that Al Gore won in 2000. And if Obama loses to Hillary it will be Edwards' fault. So yes, this endorsement makes sense to me.

  • jenontheshore - Nader didn't Cost Gore the election. It was stolen and Nader even states that. The fact is that 200K registered democrats voted for bush in Florida and EVERY 3rd party candidate running got more than the difference between bush and gore. Let's face it Gore ran a snooze fest campaign, and he couldn't even carry his own state or other "slam-dunk" states.

  • Also, he wasn't allowed on the debates because he was told he "was not going to be a factor." Well i guess everyone's saying he was a factor, or he was or he wasn't a factor. Personally i don't know why Gore didn't push the fact that there was no hand-recount or the exclusion/denial to vote of 50k black people that day. There's way too much evidence to say Nader had nothing to do with it.

  • The democrats unfortunately, fail in so many similar ways in each campaign.
