After 15+ views I still see things in this great video. The director takes us from Venice to the Waldorf in NY to the rehearsal to the selection of costumes to the tension of the opening and Porter's absolute triumph. So much good music, minidrama. Note the reaction (:54)of the African American lady next to Morrissette as she realizes Kline isn't stopping for her.Great lyric builds to climax. Excellent upload selection. The whole movie is done this well.

this is a sweet movie called DeLovely, it's about Porter's life and in between his personal drama (yeah the guy had a tough life!) there are some singers from nowadays perfoming his songs... but they don't have a role, they just perform like one song each, such as Alanis!

It's one of my favorite films but For the soundtrack they brought out modern singers including Alanis to perform songs and this is the only part in which she appears. Then again it's a favorite of mine because I love Cole's music and it's a beautifully tragic and complicated story that is almost heartbreakingly, wonderfully, told in the film. I would say its worth your time but it's almost in the style of a jukebox musical wherein it is a musical but the music doesn't advance the plot.
