I agree with you on that. They could order the ES44C4s and test the engines out to see how they would perform on their trains just like BNSF did. It really won't matter since the GE Evolution Hybrid engine begins production in 2010 and I know railroads will be looking to order them.
Now I'm curious; why does CSX/NS have their underside machinery painted black, and UP/BNSF have theirs painted silver/gray? Just part of the paint scheme?
In a picture in the special trains magazine locomotive 2011 I saw what looked like a ES60AC

So weird, csx 950's door was on the wrong side of the locomotive all csx AHs and DCs have the cab door on the right side, not the left.

Has anyone seen 950 in service yet?

From what I heard, CSX cancelled the order of ES44AH's, and #950 is now gonna be IAIS #512.
NahuntaSubFoamer5115 2 years ago
IAIS is getting more ES44ACs? WOW.
kmothersil 2 years ago 2
From what I hear, they're getting 2 or 3 more.

I gotta seriously start paying attention to locomotive orders again, I missing a lot.
kmothersil 2 years ago
I found a picture of the engine, which is now 512. The person that took it stated the order has been delayed due to the economic downturn.

I think CSX is gay for doing that. I would rather them have more ES44AH's than ES44DCs. Those AC GEVOs are beasts!

Nice!! Good riddens! I didn't know CSX ordered another 50-100 new AC GEVOs despite they are ordering 100 new DCs.
Railfan77 3 years ago
Hmm... So CSX did order new GEVOs but not the DC versions. Damn Wikipedia! Oh well sweet video!! 5 stars!
MattyMaurer11 3 years ago
wiki=only as good as the moron who posted it. CSX has over 200 of the newer GEVO ACs already.
