How on earth were all 3 officers not convicted of assault - gather only 1 convicted - surely the other 2 officers should be disciplined for making no attempt to stop the other officer committing assault. The person they should have been restraining was the other officer - crazy - and they wonder why young people have no respect for them.

They were not punching him in the spine trying to break his back nor were they doing it whilst he was handcuffed the officer was punching his shoulder or upper arm to make him release his grip as he was resisting arrest by clasping his hands under himself preventing him from being cuffed.

I can defend what they did the man was by his own admission leathered and abusive and when they attempted to arrest him firstly he tried to make off then fell over due to being so pissed and when they took hold of him he resisted their efforts to handcuff him so they made him comply.

All perfectly reasonable and unfortunately an occurance repeated up and down the country nightly due to young men and women consuming far too much alcohol!
