I have the LBG Shotgun (Snake), which has an attack power 392. It can rapid fire Pellet LV 3, so I've been using it as a substitute for the Ancient Dragonwood Cannon. Should I just stick w/ it or go for the ADC?

@badbai11423 Well, it's pretty much like I do it here - Evade Inc, HBG, Pellet 3. Just make sure you're only attacking when you know you won't get hit in return, and then it's just a matter of practice and learning Diablos's movements.

*Sigh* It seems that I'll never succeed in heroics run. Inspired by your guide and vids I started a new char, the goal = no melee(at least before gaining a clear status for a quest). Now I'm HR6 and need to do a Fierce Blk Horn quest. Blos Brothers been my most hunted prey since the 1st game, so i decided to do a hero hunt. Tryed for 6-7 times and every time I ended being dead in 1st 10 min (NOT by Diablos) I'm in Garuga set(w/mask)=HGE/Pierce lv1up/RA+1 with Tankmage+. Any advice?

@Antagonopolis Heroics runs are a bit of a crapshoot; there are heaps of random BS things that can get you killed. Most of my Heroics vids took a few takes to get right, so if you're not used to using it, 7 attempts is pretty standard, sadly >< Just keep at it, you'll get used to having no margin for error and it'll make your normal playing better too :)

Instead I unleashed my Heroics on Ol' good Lao *whos got more respect for hunters efforts ;) * finished my Emp-Lao-Cannon and dug that Diablos so deep, that he will never be dug out ))

@Antagonopolis u can use ceantear headaxe then keep super pounding the tail or the hr5 lao shan lung gives pellet lv3 with its gun and without heroics it should take 10 - 15 mins :D. happy hunting bro and praise mazereon!

If anyone is wondering how to get stout black twisted horns, i'll tell u a quick and easy way! the game only gives u one per day, and luckily its on the first try of everyday! 100%! (i know its kinda like cheating, but...) You can change the date on your psp to the next day, and make your first fight, dual diablos. Break both horns on the first one, and only one horn on the second. You'll get a stout horn 100% garentee, then keep changing the date. got 7 in one day, GL and hope this helped! :D

1. Fastest way to get stout black twisted horns/ Do i have to kill them, or can i capture them.

@Soccerballnerd If you're HR6, you'll want to use the High rank Naruga LS with Sharpness +1. Instead of Naruga S, I'd use Cean S and gem in Attack Up Large, Sharp +1 and with a one slot weapon you can fit in Sharp skill inc. You'll end up doing a lot more damage than just using Naruga S armour.

@TianNi23 Well, if you position correctly behind it, it'll always have to turn twice to face you and charge, so you'll always have time to roll out. A power barrel's damage for me is just too good to pass up :)

Heroics is a Felyne skill only, so you'll need to hire cats that have Felyne Heroics. Adrenaline +2 is 15 points into the "Potential" armour skill; on Rajang and Monoblos armours.

The Uca LBG works great if you have it, otherwise any gun with ~5 shots of Pellet 3 will be fine.

What does the evade skill do? make it less likely to get hit by a charging monster? or make your dive range farther? i cant tell cuz it seems like it does nothing.

Evade Inc means you roll further, but Evade+1/2 means that when you roll, your split second of invincibility is a little longer. You'll need really good timing to use it well, but once you get it you'll be unstoppable :)

i can tell you're using the ancient dragon wood cannon with the power barrel upgrade what mod level is your cannon at and what armor set are you using cause i cant seem to finish the 2 black blos's im using ADC as well but i cant seem to beat it.

actually you can kill a burrowing diablos. I just did it 5 minutes ago. No evidence though so you'll just have to believe me. Nice vid btw.Thanks to you I can farm him in around 10 minutes which would normally take me 20 minutes with melee weapons.

You're right you can kill it underground, but it's tough to do. It's while it's burrowing that you can't kill it.

It depends on the attack of the vespoid. This vespoid did a charge attack, and a sting. Some stings are more effective, just like blade that have paralysis. They don't always paralyze you, just sometimes if you're unlucky.

But this leaves me to ask a question, Would the Black Diablos in HR6 be as strong as a Diablos from Felyne Elder?. Because Im looking at the Felyne Elder and the High Rank Quests and seeing that monsters have kind of have a correlation in power. So are the about same strength or is one stronger than the other?

No, tails requite cutting type damage to cut off, and guns only do shot damage. Sadly, you'll never cut a tail off with a gun in 2G or Unite.

Honestly, it's probably easier just to kill it and hope for a horn in normal rewards. That's how I've gotten mine - that or just well timed Normal 2 on the horns as it turns, but that takes a while and is dangerous.

maze is right - Normal 2 on the horns is dangerous, especially in an open space. If you want to break one easily, climb the ledge for the first blos in the video, and fire Ice shots through his head when he gets stuck.

Don't try it on the one in the open desert, unless you have a lot of time/traps/flashes.

Recommended gun for breaking horns: Ukanlos light bowgun for firing Ice and Pellet 3. Put the silencer on instead of the long barrel.  Firing faster kills them quicker than higher damage.

If you're new to blos, I recommend a shield on this HBG (for maze's setup) to block the roars, because you need to be behind them if you don't have HGE or a shield, in order to not get hit.
