Wow, it goes pretty well offroad. I still think the M-Class would be a better fit though. Mainly because it uses height adjustment. Far as I know the BMW X5 does not. Unless this 2011 has it.

If you want a luxury 4wd that can go off road, Buy a Range Rover vogue, Discorery, or to a lesser luxury extent Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland.

If you live in the country side and you need a proper off roader ... get a Range Rover.
If you just need a big car with some decent ground clearence that can do a lil bit of off road and still eat the pavement get the X5.
