@krutzilla Chicago has never been really good and tight live. I don't know why because I've seen video of them playing "live" in the recording studio and they sound really good. They were stoned 90% of the time during the 70's so that might explain what was wrong then, but for the life of me I can't figure out what their excuse is now.
Wow this guy is trying to sing a perfect melody, Terry had a gruff voice and everything came from the heart not by having a perfect voice. I like the original much better!
Okay, "thumbs down people", let me clarify a little here....Bobby, Jimmy, Lee and Walt STILL ROCKIN' EVEN AFTER ALL THESE YEARS!!! Bill Champlin....NOT SO MUCH!!! I'm just saying......AHHHHHH my ears!!!!
Pankow tells the story that in their early days, regardless of who wrote the song, Lamm, Kath, and Cetera would all try out the lead vocal. Whoever did best did it. Lamm tried, then Cetera. Didn't work. kath tried and it came alive. Can you think of ANYONE who sounds like Terry? Kath was the real deal!
They didn't find someone who really can sing this song? Terry will not stop turning in his grave if he had to her this. Sounds like a cat who was kicked. Horrible and a pity for this wonderful song.
I was being sarcastic. LOL I knew it wasn't a cover but Chicago and the way they are now? Mine as well call this song a cover. That's what Chicago is now. "a cover band" AND IT SUCKS!
i completely agree! if i were terry id be rolling over in my grave. i mean the instrumentals are cool but the voice of the old guy who sounds like michael jackson (but worse) it ruins it all!
This is atrocious. It sounds like a band and singer that tours county fairs and performs on local telethons and Bar Mitzvahs. Sickening.

You hit the nail on the head edd. He hit's that tune so hard and with such conviction that it forever belongs to him and him alone.

No, not Chicago! But...not bad!
I was looking for the full, original version...with the additional instrumental & Terry Kath vocals.
