A deep and reflective tape, it took me a while to get into this selection. However, the melodies of many of these tunes are really quite special - I enjoy the instrumentation and the variety on this tape. A very listenable compilation from the BBC.

I'm trying to find a beautiful track from a BBC 1 test card around 1982 or 83. I have little to go on however, so I'm hoping I'll strike lucky and find that someone has posted this particular test card.

While Im certainly not as hardcore as some testcard fans, I well remember in the late 70s/early 80s enjoying testcard music. You knew which track was coming next, and you knew when the awful tone would kick in and you'd have to rush to the TV to turn the sound down.

Are any of the show tune test cards on Youtube? I well remember one in the mid 80s that featured a version of the Trolley Song.
