  • hmm, im thinkin about a couple 8's...would a sealed box let them respond quicker to double bass, and do they hit as low as 12's can... jw

  • so thatz it???...

  • @GetShitOn13 no atleast like 4 or 5

  • How much was it?

  • stop being a douche and make a decent video

  • i got a dak RC too, just picked up the exact same box but 10". my old truck was a cc so i fit subs no problem. but being 6'2" sucks when you have to lose an inch of leg room with these boxes

  • i working on putting in s 8 inch acustic subs with a 300watt amp. hopefully it'll sound alittle like this. nice sound man!

  • I saw three 8 Inch JL sub's in RadioShack.

They tested them and compared them to 12" MTX,s 15" Kickers, And some 18" Sub.

3 of each subs in a box.

    The 8"'s destroyed them

  • @gibsonlespaul2 prolly a W7 8"

  • What kind of amp do you have?

  • @Midfieldjake24 It was an orion "cobalt" series amp

  • Sounds good for rap for sure, but hows that thing sound for rock/metal/country??

  • @isawg307live sounds even better, i dont listen to rap on a regular basis but i figured this would be the best kind of music to get this woofer's capabilities across. For the most part i listen to metal, I now have a 8"w3 in my silverado extended cab, these JL 8's are great.

  • @crazyquady awesome! Thanks for the insight man!

  • @crazyquady any videos ?

  • @lancer7610 I'll get one this weekend, check bac

  • thats funny hey check out my aiwa it sounds better

  • haha this is funny because yall thinks this hits hard when i have 2 orion xtrpro 15s with a spl gorilla 5000 watt amp that will blow this truck off the road lol

  • @prowdowners10 wohhhhh bro.........how did you get so cool, but oh wait thats nothing about this video. Go troll somewhere else.

  • @OriginalNoxide woooohhh bro 1st off wont trollin but u wanna get down to it i was speakin truth yall wer sayin it hit hard i said it was funny cuz mine would blow this shit up so go troll somewer else bitch

  • @prowdowners10 Goof!! Not everybody is looking to blow their eardrums out of their head, you retard!

  • wtf? do you only have like a single 3" for mids/highs or something lmfao

  • take off the guard so you dont look like a faggot

  • @DeVoNiSrEtArDeD Yah, so the sub can slap against the back of the seat ? That would be super smart...

  • @crazyquady Thats a good point

  • What is this a dodge ram?

  • @CelticsFanBoy92

2001 Dodge Dakota R/T regular cab

  • @crazyquady oh ok. cuz the interior looks just like the interior on my 2003 dodge ram. lol

  • @crazyquady 5.9 r/t hhhuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmm power BIG POWER

  • @CelticsFanBoy92 yes its a 90s model or a 2000 2001 :D

  • Thanks for the info bro I meant to put the whole package when I asked though. two 8'' subs with an 800 watt amp.

  • @wesgzzy74 I still think at least 10's, besides pushing 800 watts through 2 8" W1's doesnt make much sense to me. I currently have a 8" W3 in my extended cab silverado and its just about as loud as the W1 was in this reg cab dakota.

  • what about a 1996 crown victoria with a very deep trunk would an 8 be enough?

  • @wesgzzy74 It would depend on the 8", if it was a W7 then yes, but a W1 like this one wouldnt have much of a punch in that much room. One 12" W1 would sound pretty good though.

  • @wesgzzy74 so are u getting an 8"? can you tell me if it sounds good... thnx

  • Why would you have the bass turned all the way down? That doesn't make any sense at all.

  • @SergeantPope quality is best when bass and bass boost are at their lowest...

  • will two 8 inches rock a single cab s10

  • @goochie94 Yes but the 10's are better. They sound like 15's with the JL 250/1 amp. I had two of the 10 W1v2 4 ohm impedence with the same truck boxes and a JL 250/1 amp and hit everything!! It hit really low... and set off car alarms.

  • @goochie94 @goochie94 Yes but the 10's are better. They sound like 15's with the JL 250/1 amp. I had two of the 10 W1v2 4 ohm impedence with the same truck boxes and a JL 250/1 amp and hit everything!! It hit really low... and set off car alarms. It was in a 2003 Chevy single cab S-10.

  • dude you need to turn that shit down that is too loud dude i hate fucking ametures your shit is too loud though yea just kidding dude maybe try two next time and a different head unit faget you think your shits loud my door speaker will out beat you and there stock

  • no lowpass filter

  • LOL nothng

  • ive shit louder than that and bigger stuff to!

  • sounds really bassy through my w1's good work

  • got the same amp but it talks to kicker comp..still a great amp...u got the bass remote?

  • sound good for 1 eight

  • I was thinking of getting a sub i dont want insane bass but more than the speakers put out deff. should i go with an 8 inch???

  • Well it depends on the car/truck. If it is a 2001 F150 as yor username states then an 8 or a 10 would be great

  • use your lowpass filter....

  • @01f150sixer i agree with crazyquady but if u still want a 12 you can get a shallow sub, they are harder to find but i found one at a pawn shop for 50 with a box. i had to make a box but the sub was only 3 inches! and it hits nice

  • @oxymoron2727

Props on the pawn shop. People are so strapped for cash that they get rid of great things! I got an 8W1V2 from a Super Pawn for $40 and it is brand new, which is the only reason I got it (I'm a 12" kinda guy, lol). I'm considering a small build with it, or ebay the damn thing and get more than double my money back.

  • @01f150sixer just install a bass knob... basically a volume knob for just your sub.

  • DANM!! that sounds badass comming from a stock radio too!!! how much did the sub run you im looking to get one for my Jeep

  • @ugly4x4 I paid 400$ for the sub/box amp wiring and to have it all installed at a local shop. not to bad..

  • nice i just got a 8" polk audio sub for $105 but i have to order a box for it for my jeep, im getting the center consol that holds it!!

  • How deep is that sub? cause i'm buying 2 sundown e8;s in a few days and i need some dimensions for some boxes that will fit in a standard cab truck. my friend can't find any. :(

  • You can check the JL website for all the specs since this is a sub/box preloaded combo from them, the measuements are:H) Height 10.75 in. / 273 mm

    (W) Width 19.0 in. / 483 mm

    (D1) Depth 8.25 in. / 210 mm

    (D2) Top Surface Depth 4.5 in. / 114 mm

  • thats sounds so good

  • thanks. JL all the way!

  • jl subs are over priced. for what the subs have to offer they are way over priced. its like spending 40 dollars on some jeans then turning around and buying a top brand name jean, with same parts same everything for triple the price!

  • tell me i hav two 12'' in room

  • Stop being such a cheap fucking Jew and buy a god damned JL. Jeez. It's tightwads like yourself that have caused this entire economy to come to a halt with your cheapness. Knock that shit off and buy a fucking JL woofer and be happy with it. They blow away everything on the market. Fucking cheap ass. Go back to mama and cry us a river.

  • Cheap jew? Nah man, I value good car audio. You dont know shit about me so shut ur yap einstein. I dont rock sonys bitch. Fi car audio is the way to go. Rockford, Sundown, & Audioque amps are the best. So I'm a cheap fucking jew? To call me that is pretty funny. You ask anyone that is deep into car audio what they think about JL & they will probably tell you the same, that they are good subs but not for the price. Your tellin me to cry a river? haha look at what YOU wrote.

  • You are down in the ranks of the amatuers if you think Rockford is good shit. What are you, 16 years old or something? Geez.

  • Haha. You obviously do not know too much if you say Rockford amps are shit. Lol Why dont you go record another fart. What the fuck are you, 16 or something? haha dumb ass. I am 21 not that it matters though. Grow up and get a life.

  • Ah ha, that explains your ignorance. That's why you like to pick up high distortion amps instead of buying a real man's amp like a McIntosh. All of the new stuff today is GARBAGE. The companies were all taken over and they only want pretty amps now that don't perform. Look at the specs on the amp. What you want is .005% THD. Many amps are .1%. GARBAGE. .005% is SUPER clean.

  • Lol McIntosh is on a whole different level. Most bassheads which I though we were talking about arent going to bust out that kind of money unless they live in their vehicle. Im curious how a McIntosh car set-up would sound as I have heard the home audio and it was amazing. For the average basshead not a richie cigar smoking audiophile the companies I named i thought were good. I just cant picture someone getting McIntosh products, maybe someone who listens to Symphony no. 9. type music.

  • You don't need to be a basshead to not own a McIntosh. Man, you are cheap. You talk as if it costs $5,000 to $15,000 for an amp or something. You can buy used McIntosh amps for about the same price or not much more than the crap that you're using now. I'd rather spend $400-600 on a good used McIntosh amp knowing that my shit is super clear.

I'm just as broke as everyone else and so are my family members but we only buy McIntosh's because we're not cheap Jews.

  • @clucklikeachicken Well concidering that I didnt know McIntosh made car audio I and didnt know the price I was assuming McIntosh car audio components were un godly expensive like the home audio equipment. And no its not being cheap. Have a good one.

  • I didn't neither years back. And the month after I found out, I immediately saved up for several months and paid cash. I practice what I preach. I don't want ANYONE to have middle of the road. If you're into sound, then you should ONLY top of the line stuff in your car. You only live once and there's no reason to install something that you will have to spend money afterwards to upgrade. Spend the money ONCE and be done with it. Keep a McIntosh amp for 40-60 years!!

  • @clucklikeachicken Thats interesting, I am definitely going to look into getting some McIntosh products. And amen to that, I agree someone should only have top of the line stuff in their car instead of having to buy something else and having to replace it due to poor quality. How does your car set-up sound with the McIntosh components?

  • Comment removed

  • Tube amp!?? Dude, that just showed how ignorant you are. You obviously know absolutely NOTHING about McIntosh car audio. That's as good as you're going to get. When it comes to sound quality in a car, the buck stops there. You obviously care about sound being that you took the time to install all of that equipment in your car. It's a real shame you never investigated McIntosh amps. I wouldn't say their speakers are the best in the world, but their amps are 2nd to NONE.

  • lol...do you own any mcintosh products?

my point is: you cant find mcintosh for the price i paid for my badass amps!!

with a signal processor, xover, and components, your naked ear cant tell the difference between .05% and .005%

  • If course I own them! I practice what I preach. I've owned Fosgate, Alpine, A/D/S, Linear Power, Yamaha and other amps. I don't care about the price. I care about the SOUND QUALITY. In the long run you won't care what you paid for it. You'll only notice how it distorts. My shit is SUPER FUCKING CLEAN. The McIntosh has the crossover and all that shit built into it. Then run a Class D amp for your subs and you're good to go. Get a cheap 200 watt McIntosh for your mids and highs.

  • I used to think just like you. Then I grew up and stopped being a cheap Jew.

I remember hearing about a guy who had an Alpine V12 and said the same thing about McIntosh. At the contest the guy took out his McIntosh and put it in the guy's car who had the V12. After the guy heard the McIntosh, he took his V12 and threw it straight in the garbage.

If you buy a McIntosh, it will be the last amp for mid's & high's you'll ever need in a lifetime. Nothing to upgrade to after a McIntosh.

  • '94? Jeez.. You're really a dope then. You have a shitload to learn. Now wonder you are so pathetically cheap. Like I said... when you "GROW UP". I've been doing this since the early 1980's. You have a lot of catching up to do. My McIntosh amp was almost $1,200. Since when did cheapie Kicker amps start selling for that price? Sounds like you need a lesson on budgeting and how to save money to buy a REAL MAN'S amp and not something for a high school punk.

  • Comment removed

  • You're full of shit. That xs100 is a piece of garbage. Anyone who knows amps will confirm this. Since you're just a punk talking out of your asshole, you have no fucking clue what you're talking about. You need to go back to tossing your boyfriend's salad, little boy.

Thanks for wasting my mother fucking time, bitch.

  • And you just got into the stereo thing in '94? Sound awfully young to me, Skippy. Come back when you grow a pair.

  • that makes me want to go hook up my 2

    8s

  • how loud is that 1 8". I just put a custom box with 2 8s in my dakota sport and it sounds sick

  • It was pretty loud, it kinda surprised me for just being an 8" but i sold that and the truck. The factory 8" in my new car doesnt even come close.....

  • hahah your a pro gamer what a fag your the one thta needs a life..how old are you i bet you still live with your mom hahah

  • "IM A PRO GAMER AND I LOVE FUNNY VIDEOS"

<-Straight off your profile. Just stop before you make yourself look even worse

  • Nice JL! What you think a second one would sound like in the same box on top of that one and the same amp powered both bridged down. BTW Very clean, no distortion and nice box.

  • The amp was already bridged for that. But another box behind the passenger seat and a bigger amp would have been nice, too bad I sold all that already and bought a new car

  • Was it a dual voice coil? It must have bumped! Also what was the amp RMS wattage

  • dual 8ohm wired to 4 300 rms amp bridged down. It was surprisingly loud. That is a sub/box combo straight from JL so the port is tuned perfectly for that sub. I dont have avy subs now, I got a 09 civic Si that comes with one stock but there is always room for upgrades. JL will always be my subs of choice

  • as if, ur not just gunna put halo4lifealways as a nane, fuckin stupid kid.

  • AHAHAHHA. Pwned by crazyquady

  • dont be mad because you cant afoord a real sub. you broke ass bitch. get a job.

  • Grow up-- all the video games are making you think your a bad ass

  • weak as hell.

  • Your weak--go back to your video games

  • that song sucks

  • dem 8s sounds deep fo sho

  • I have the same Sub. Where did you get the grill? I've been looking for one but i can't find it. Nice Video. Congratulations!

  • THe grill came with the sub and box. I believe you can get them from crutchfield just check out there site. Thanks!

  • it could handle 300 im sure.

  • wow u must be short i have the same truck i couldnt fit a box and sitt right nice truck is it a 2003

  • I'm 6 foot so its a pretty tight fit but for the sound its worth it. Only getting about 120 watts rms off that amp the sub could handle more!

  • 2001 R/T
