  • @Vuretas hahahahahahaha

  • dirty greek foggot basterds

  • Yes there were a few thousand soldies from Greek city states. But they are not lying. This story is just about the 300 who defended the narrow pass into greece

  • Shouldn't it be called 100, since it's about the 100 we didn't see? :V

  • Of course, there were only 300 spartans, thats right. But they were nowhere near alone.

The story of this movie is more akin to the story of King Agis III. He stood ALONE facing an entire army with his legs gone, to give his army a minescule chance at escape. He too, was a king of Sparta.

  • The true story of the battle of Thermopylae is ruined because of these Hollywood-ified movies. (Though I am a fan of the meme) The entire story of how 300 fought along is wrong. Not only did they have at least 5000 allies with them at the time, they had an unknown number of helots who stood by to assist the spartans. Furthermore, the persian archers were not that great; In fact, their arrow's were so bad, they did not pierce the shields of the spartans at all. Sorry to burst your bubble.

  • @ShadowPhoenix52 It still amazes me how stupid people are. The movie isn't claiming these battles ever even took place, the entire movie is the visualization of the story that Dilios told in order to call the rest of the Spartans to arms. The visual effects, inconsistent scenery, body parts flying everywhere, and the war abominations are meant to inspire the remaining Spartans to get them to fight.

  • @CyRxJustin Before you even start saying anything about the movie, please read what I am actually trying to say. I never said anything about the visual effects, inconsistent scenery, the body parts, nor the "war abominations." I was clarifying that there was MORE than just the spartans, and that it wasnt just them who fought. Giving the glory to 300 of thousands of courageous warriors isnt exactly "fair." So please, before you start an argument, at least KNOW what you're arguing about.

  • @ShadowPhoenix52 Of COURSE it's not fair, it's a motivational speech, not a historic documentation. I'm sure in actuality Leonidas was not as nice to the hunchback and I'm sure the evil senator wasn't a raging ball of malice either.

  • @CyRxJustin Not only does it amaze ME how stupid some people are, it amazes me how smart some people THINK they are.

  • @ShadowPhoenix52 I DO know what I'm arguing about, you're the one confused. This movie is not about the battle. This is a movie about the STORY that Dilios told to rally the people of Sparta. It's not as motivating to hear "300 of us and an assload of Athenians just stood against the Persian Empire" as it is to hear "300 of us just stood against the Persian Empire. I mean, yeah some other people helped but they were more like brawlers, we brought all the warriors."

  • @CyRxJustin "This movie is not about the battle."

So all the fighting isnt a battle? And IM the one confused?

Yes, its a motivational speech, and yes, Dilios was telling the story. But according to historical documentation, he told the entire story to the Senate, not sme bull-shit glory hogging crap that youre saying they did. Its kind of hard to erase the amazing courage they ALL put up. Which, of course, Spartans put above all else.

And fyi, yes, Leonidas was an ass to the hunchback.

  • LMFAO, Nice vid 10/5 :D

  • rated R for retarded:)

  • awful

  • Rated G lol

  • LOL

  • lol they can taste it lol

  • actually i think it was 1000 slaves that were following their 300 lords

  • @trabuco9 after the allied Greeks were flanked, in Thermopylae stayed the 300 Spartans, each one with 2 or 3 squires, and 700 Thespians, who were farmer-soldiers, and not professional soldiers like the Spartans. The Spartans couldn't retreat, because if they did, they lost their citizenship by law.

  • ok, may to someone that's funny, but it's insult... at least u could put a more muscular guy, not this whale...:/

  • @SteveStGSOBIC an insult? to whom, to you?? lighten up dude, it's a spoof..lmao some guys really have an awesome sense of humor in these comments..

  • lol its mostly fat guys with small shields and swords

  • Dudes dont forget the 4000 greeks... And the thousands of other greek city soldiers.

The persian army was for about 200 000 (Modern estimates)

The spartans and other dudes where about 7000 soldiers. If 7000 soldiers defend a 15 meter passage, of course they can hold out for days. Forexample in ancient china an general (I forgot his name xD) managed to hold out for 5 days with his 3000 soldiers against 100 000 soldier of the enemy.

Another army managed to DEFEAT 100 000 with 2000

  • @RoManLP15 pretty sure that was mao zedong during the long march vut he only held them off until getting to the mountains he didnt defeat them until later

  • @RoManLP15 Actually, it was only 300 men, because the Greek fighters weren't soldiers.

  • @rares120 They had soldiers... BTW dont forget all the other greek city state soldiers... (About 3000) Maybe not ALL of them were soldiers, but a peasant kan still kill...

  • @RoManLP15 Greeks had better army, equipment, commanders, and above all, free men were fighting slaves. The Persians were 200,000 (100 warriors and 100 auxiliary), but only 10-15,000 were Persians. The others were slaves and subdued people. No Greek city was forced to fight, but each voted for the participation in the war. That makes a huge difference. At Platea Greeks were 30,000 against 100,00 Persian, but Greeks fought for their homes, and Persians just for money. That too makes a difference.
