That was the 'Ship Canel Bridge' I-5 SB. First view to the west you can see the 'Aurora Bridge' which is Hwy 99 from the Greenlake/Woodland Park Zoo area to the backside of Queen Anne. The water below - Lake Union (Space Needle-background) and the passage from the locks to (underneath you) Lake Washington. You took the Roanoke Exit! If anything you were exiting into the EastLake /Roanoke area. Robinbs9 is correct; Laurelhurst is the expensive residential point just east of the UofW.

Umm, that's neither 520 nor Laurelhurst. You're on I-5 south driving toward downtown, looking west toward Queen Anne Hill. Laurelhurst is two miles to the east.
