Just like the filipino people, they have spanish blood in them so they have the spanish last name. But racially they're mostly asian. @SkidRowJosephine Generally, Mexicans ARE Native Americans (Injuns). Those/pure Spanish descent are not (Europeans are not Injuns). Mestisos (mixed blood), according to how one defines it, may or may not count as an Injun. Puerto Ricans are likely mixed white/black as the Spanish mostly killed off the Native Americans. And the Spanish made sure the Mexicans had Spanish names, such as Vasquez! Names like Tallchief are translations.

Say it aint so about Tony Bellamy! How sad and I send my condolences to his family and the Redbone family as well. I first saw them play as a replacement for a group by the name of Wolfgang, back in 1970 and they stole the show. The group I was with went out right after the concert and got their first album Redbone, and I've been a huge fan ever since. They were one of the best live bands ever! It's just so sad to hear about Tony.
