I understand that everyone wants to do their part, but don't. The only thing these guys wanted to do when they got there was go home to their families.
War is hell. No amount of patriotism, misguided or no, will change that. Watching your friends die is a horrible thing. Killing someone's child, someone's husband, someone's brother, someone's father, is a horrible, horrible thing.
If everyone just went home ... there would be no war.
@DeguGamingNetwork I also believe there were German soldiers as well, that wanted to go home and forgot all what had happend. At times of war, in the beginning, you only think of fighting for your country and believe that is the best you thing to do. But, when time is fading out, you realize that it's all bullshit...
@slyrez good luck and god bless im only 14 but inlistings the first thing im doing when i leave school time to serve my country and make a differance i this world

@berserker276 im as proud as they get :) i only watch these videos because it remids me of my grandad which i ike to think he played a major role in the war :)
@05proudbritish British, though unfortunately I've no idea what either of them did in the war except I found my grandfather' (on my mothers side) old.. book thingy which basically told me what squadron of the RAF he was in and his rank. My other grandfather I've only seen in one picture and my friend said he looks like a Sgt, so that's all I know really.
@berserker276 o right i only have a few items of my grandads and a little story all i know is my grandad was stranded at dunkirk and injured but carried on to fight at burma later in the war but im always trying to dig information out to find out what he was truly like.
@05proudbritish I met a WWII veteran last wednesday almost 98 who was at Dunkirk but he didn't tell me much about it but showed me a lot of pictures of him in the war and in India for a few years before it started.
@berserker276 thats why theres series amd films such as band of brothers the pacific saving private ryan it gives us an idea of what it was like, we use our imagination well i do lol :)
@berserker276 if you want an idea or more personal details from the veterans buy these books... ones called (with the old breed) and the other(helmet for my pillow) there very good books with full of details, you can buy them off amazon or ebay really worth reading :)
@berserker276 yeah i looked up on that.... people say band of brothers is better than pacific but i think there totally different in many ways to be compared... but yeah im reading helmet for my pillow atm and its soo good :)
@05proudbritish I think BoB is better than TP in some ways. However, it doesn't really show what they went through after the war so I guess they even each other out lol.
@berserker276 yeah it would be great although there is a few british who portray some of the soldiers in bob dont know why though... but yeah would be a great idea :)
@05proudbritish Apparently there is, although it's about the Afghan war I think. Coming out no idea when (if at all) but it's just what my friend told me.
@berserker276 it would be great if they did one on ww2 though give the british public an idea and to remind the british for what they did.. all you ever see is how the americans faught not that im complaining but it would honour the british vets if they did one maybe something like battle of dunkirk or something :)
@05proudbritish The guy who played Harry Welsh in this is British and also was in a film called 'Dunkirk' I think.. might not be a film but it's about the British lol. And yea I agree, though I'm not complaining, it'd be nice to see a film from the British perspective of either WWI or WWII for a change.
@berserker276 yeah his name is rick warden he played a major in dunkirk also did something in the series rome... yeah it would be great to see some mini series involving the british alot more but still the bob and tp are still good :)
i swear god every time i see a ww2 video i just want to have a timemachine and take the time back to 1940 where the ww2 begin i will join up with the Marines then take back the time and join the red army GOD BLESS THESE SOLDIERS BIG<3 FOR THESE SOLIDERS CURRAHEE!!
Hitler exterminated over a number I believe to be over 11,000,000 in the name of ethnic cleansing. Lets forget Democrat or Republican, any sane, moral human being would stand up against this. No, we are not the most racially tolerant country in the world, but I can in all good faith say the American people would never let anything close to that happen.
@antifolderr As an american we need to acknowledge the dark stains in our history. We destroyed almost an entire people if you've forgotten already: there are nearly no more native americans left. Not to mention the internment of japanese-americans and the destruction of german businesses during WWII and you can definitely draw a parallel with the imprisonment of non-aryan europeans and the destruction of Jewish businesses. I just hope that we stop the unfair treatment of muslims and move on.
Why is it that only 60 years after these events, people are all about saying "RIP for the other side" easy company from ww2 are turning over in their graves for sure...

@MrCaptainLarry I don't care if they were conscripts or fanatics. Unless you are German, I find it saddening that we (rest of the world) try to make a "pseudo-peace" / "its ok what you all did, we are all brothers since we fought for our own causes" with current Germans by saying such things, even though the war was finished so long ago. It is this general "everybody's right" mentality that get's me irritated.

How can these inhumane killings be a stepping stone to something?
@TheMaidenTribute Stalin was evil, but not as evil as Hitler...Stalin threw people into gulags for forced labour and the red army murdered and raped innocent german civilians. Nazi Germany did the same... but the only difference is Hitler threw civilians into camps to die.

@Mathew1985AZ well fighting terrorism is hard and i dont like the way the government is going towards the liberal side and getting bigger and more controlling but we kneed a strong military because in case you havent noticed alot of other countrys hate us but comparing the US to nazi germany? No thats not even close big controlling governments are bad thats why a conservative government is better its got more constitutional rights protected that way
@tangokilla11 Yes I compare the U.S. government (federal) to the nazi german party. Every monstrous government has its beginnings and the U.S. is in lockstep to the nazi pages of propaganda, war powers, and war policies.I am a conservative ,and I am for limited government, I had uncles who served in a lot of wars. I believe that undoubtedly we will see the u.s. government turn into the same thing hitlers government did. The "war on terror" laws are created to imprison patriots, and silence us.
@Mathew1985AZ LOL. Imprison patriots? Well, I think I know what you trying to say, but that isn't it. The Obama administration just don't know what to do, and I can't wait for them to leave. And like you said, the government is pretty much never going to be like it's supposed to, but I don't think that it will become Nazi.
@Mathew1985AZ Hey, now don't think I'm a democrat or something. And maybe you didn't understand, but I pretty much agreed with you. Except for the Nazi part... that is just a little too far for the time being.
@Mathew1985AZ yeah i agree but until we start loading people onto trains and sending them to deathcamps id say were pretty far from nazi germany, but always glad to meet a fellow conservative
@tangokilla11 I know history pretty well since I read it thoroughly. Expect full fledged fascism within under 5 years, and if I am wrong Ill give you 100 bucks
the guy next to compton is either Harry Welsh or Lt. Spears (probably welsh because spears was in dog company). the man next to eugene looks to be floyd talbert
R.I.P all the Aussie soldiers in Kakoda and the pacific and all the other soldiers from all the allied countries around the world. I'm sure everyone here would solute you all!
The only evil man in WWII were the ones who believed in the Nazi stuff, don't blame all germans because of a belief of a few individuals... Labels and stereotypes are things that should be avoided... You like as much as the next guy... So honour those who have fallen in glorious battle and rejoice such men lived for your current comfort.
@Enzigurator yea, infact did you know, that the people who helped the most jews out of germany were in fact the germans, not all of germany were sided with the nazis,
@jesus316 you are right they where executed just for their religion, thats sad.they didnt capture all the rich resources of Germany, they didnt want to occupie the entire country through the bolshevism, they didnt capture all the goverment posts during the Weimar republic.
@billyboyjennings eh, ever read this book by st. augistene on free choice of the will he talks about it. Is it really free will if he knows what were going to do, or is it like string theory where he can see the possibly but not have any control over which path is taken. iono. I take it your an atheist? I'm a Christian apologist nice to meet ya lol
The airborne mission on D-day was just following the rules of the art of war, with a surprise attack like that, it doesn't matter if you're outnumbered or not.
Check out Brotherhood of Leet at my youtube channel - a re-imagining of WW2 dramas like Band of Brothers as if they were set during the 8 bit wars of the 1980s where Nintendo and Sega are waring nations.
@EmsionProductions obviously you are very ignorant towards milgrams studies on obedience and such that has already proven that your views on the german soldiers are very wrong and they should infact be respected aswell, Hitler should most certainly not be but all the young and old people that fought under his command and gave their lives most certainly deserve respect.
There are those who fought for their fatherland to the bitter end. And there were also those who didn't believe the cause of the war, the two sides both exist. One prime example is the majority of the members in the SS.
@889raptor it depends who ur talking about on the german side, regular soldiers who were just fighting for their country that were drafted yes. rip. but camp commandants, ss officers so forth i hope were severely punished in the afterlife
I LOVE THIS MUSIC! And by far the best series EVER made. I hope "The Pacific" can match or exceed Band of Brothers! It'll quite a challenge though. :)
I am going to watch these chapters again in my next holiiday!

How can these inhumane killings be a stepping stone to something?
EmsionProductions 1 year ago
@EmsionProductions
Sure he is. BUT don't you ever forget to name Stalin again in this situation. If Hitler is the devil, then Stalin must be his father.
TheMaidenTribute 1 year ago
@TheMaidenTribute Stalin was evil, but not as evil as Hitler...Stalin threw people into gulags for forced labour and the red army murdered and raped innocent german civilians. Nazi Germany did the same... but the only difference is Hitler threw civilians into camps to die.
EmsionProductions 1 year ago
@EmsionProductions
They were evil in different ways but i still mean Stalin was a bigger bastard than Hitler. He killed twice more people?!
TheMaidenTribute 11 months ago
@TheMaidenTribute I'm not going to start this obscene argument over which man is more 'evil'.
They were both bastards FULL STOP.
....oh but what about Tojo or Hirohito? They brainwashed their own civilians and soldiers into thinking they were living gods, and sent them to die!?

@Mathew1985AZ well fighting terrorism is hard and i dont like the way the government is going towards the liberal side and getting bigger and more controlling but we kneed a strong military because in case you havent noticed alot of other countrys hate us but comparing the US to nazi germany? No thats not even close big controlling governments are bad thats why a conservative government is better its got more constitutional rights protected that way
tangokilla11 5 months ago
@tangokilla11 Yes I compare the U.S. government (federal) to the nazi german party. Every monstrous government has its beginnings and the U.S. is in lockstep to the nazi pages of propaganda, war powers, and war policies.I am a conservative ,and I am for limited government, I had uncles who served in a lot of wars. I believe that undoubtedly we will see the u.s. government turn into the same thing hitlers government did. The "war on terror" laws are created to imprison patriots, and silence us.
Mathew1985AZ 5 months ago
@Mathew1985AZ LOL. Imprison patriots? Well, I think I know what you trying to say, but that isn't it. The Obama administration just don't know what to do, and I can't wait for them to leave. And like you said, the government is pretty much never going to be like it's supposed to, but I don't think that it will become Nazi.

eneumann7755 5 months ago
@Mathew1985AZ yeah i agree but until we start loading people onto trains and sending them to deathcamps id say were pretty far from nazi germany, but always glad to meet a fellow conservative

@billyboyjennings eh, ever read this book by st. augistene on free choice of the will he talks about it. Is it really free will if he knows what were going to do, or is it like string theory where he can see the possibly but not have any control over which path is taken. iono. I take it your an atheist? @EmsionProductions obviously you are very ignorant towards milgrams studies on obedience and such that has already proven that your views on the german soldiers are very wrong and they should infact be respected aswell, Hitler should most certainly not be but all the young and old people that fought under his command and gave their lives most certainly deserve respect.

No, germans were fighting for their country. They fought, because they must.

There are those who fought for their fatherland to the bitter end. And there were also those who didn't believe the cause of the war, the two sides both exist. One prime example is the majority of the members in the SS.
