wrong terrain. the fight was in a valley where the French held the high ground and englsih the low groun, a major disadvantge.. English outnumbered 5 x t1. The ground sodden by heavy rain making it muddy for the French heavy horses.

The Enlosh long War Bow , 6ft in length could out fire the continental cross bow 3 to1 or more.

When the French attacked they fell into a mass of arrows stuck in a sea of mud trapped.

All to do with strategy and the then technology of the long bow won the day....

Not wishing to be pedantic, but the windmill was Edward III's command post at the battle of Crecy, There is no mention of one at Agincourt. And apart from an initial cavalry charge, the French knights fought on foot.

Isn't this the battle where the calvary got blood lust and charged ahead of the infantry and got slaughtered? I've played all the historical battles but I that was a few years ago

@JaKeth3snake The French cavalry did that nearly every time, until about 80 years into the 100 Years War. My guess is that so much of the French aristocracy was killed off that they became temporarily less inbred, and consequently, a bit less appallingly stupid.

I really love this game but what disappoints me is the fact that arrows don't seem to do as much damage as you think they would. Even if this is a video game i still think that would be cool.

Seems the cavalry are far weaker in this as well, if I don't place my infantry behind the spikes they just drive through in a single charge.

when i  did this the cavalrly and infantry went staright around the staves :L there wasnt much point in them being there. i won in the end with a few casualties. but i killed both there generals lol. nice vid,

Tell what the battle misses tho in this i played the demo and there are no french troops sinking in the mood which was quite a big factor at Agincourt, alot of them died before even reaching the English lines not just cos of the Longbow but because of over crowding, poor commanding of troops and the mud.

Since its just a game, no, there's no mud but u could kill many of them b4 they come to your line. U'r right tho,about too many crowded French they couldn't fight properly, they were so eager to give them a payback for the crushing defeats at Poitiers & Nájera but they still underestimated their longbows & bottle-neck position. They ended up in a disaster.

I really love this battle. Remember the English faced 3 waves of mixed infantry, mounted & dismounted knights, crossbowmen & 3 heavy cavalry units from behind & they (the English) had no cavalry at all. Outnumbered 3 to1 by angry but well rested French, killed from 7to10,000 French & King Henry V fought along side his men, which i really admire that in such leaders.

My total war version is crappy compared to M2:TW.Would have thought that the French would have been doing a @10-15,000 troop press.Isnt that why they lined up in huge blocks.All storys I have read "dont" account for staggered attacks.Instead first wave,second wave,third wave.Relentless assaults?

Whilst in battle, press ESC for the menu to display, then click on UI Options and there you can change your command tools.
