Quick question, do you ordinarily do much research into the role of pure mathematicians in developing school mathematics curricula? Or are these just ideas that you've developed in a kind of "side project"? Because it's fascinating and the Board of Studies (and other educational departments) should definitely be paying close attention...

Dear Simon,
No I don't officially do research towards primary school maths curriculum. But I do think a lot about what the essentials of mathematics are (or should be), and this is indirectly related.
I do hope that educators will be viewing this series.
