All this points to the streak of light being late in the accident sequence. This is also confirmed by the Eastwind pilot, whose ATC message is time stamped, which again, was called in over 30 seconds after 8:21:12.

Finally, all that FBI tampering is easily explained if you read William Tobin's testimony: they wanted to take control of the investigation, and in fact Jim Kallstrom was within hours of announcing sabotage as the cause.

Here's the clincher for me. Airborne witnesses established the main fireball occured after F800 had fallen to about 6-7 thousand feet. That's some 30 secs AFTER the initial break up at 8:31:12pm. Yet "streak witnesses" say the fireball exploded almost immediately, or within a few seconds after streak ended. This is very clear in Fritz Meyer's account. He then stated it fell to ,the ocean in just 10 seconds. His 2 copilots gave the exact same estimate.

But these so called Truth sites are just giving you their own bias, which may or may not be more reliable than the government. Take Fritz Meyer's testimony. It actually supports a non-missile event. Why?

No, in fact I think the evidence is mixed, and if you look carefully at all of it, a missile emerges as one possibility, but IMO not the most likely. It depends on how carefuly you look at the details. A streak of light by itself means little.

There are other crashes for which the same could be said, including flight 800/missile theory: the idea of a missile test right below a major air corridor in the US, for example. Others include: BOAC 1966 over Mt Fuji, broke up in clear air; USAir 427/UA 595 rudder flaw; Alaska Air 261 jackscrew; AA587 rudder; and most recently Air France 447 crash due to ice in speed probe.

This prejudges the evidence. What they saw was a streak of light. It could have been things other than a missile. It could have been an omnidirectional explosion preceding the fireball. The claim of a missile is also out of sync with the break up sequence. For the streak of light to have been a missile, it would have to have occured much earlier.

Also, re Jim Sanders, by his own admission he did not "prove" a missile. The closest he caim to this was providing a sample of residue to a chemist that contained many elements common to rocket fuel. But as he stated in his 2nd book, it was not a conclusive match by any means. Nor was it subjected to tests by anyone else, except the NTSB, who found that a similar piece of residue was also "consistent with" glue. "Proof" is not an applicable word here, IMO.

Because he and his co-pilots all agreed the fireball reached the ocean 10 seconds later - impossible if a missile. He later changed his timeline because he realized his observations could not have supported a missile. In addition, if this were a Navy missile, the obvious choice for a cover-up would have been to declare it a bomb, not drag out the investigation for 4 expensive more years.

I read of 2 other incidents where commercial airline pilots have reported missiles being shot at their planes. Wikipedia lists 20 incidents of airliners shot down by missiles, claiming some of those shootdowns were accidental. I read also, I can't recall where, that the pilot was a former bomber pilot, I don't know what generation, so he took evasive manuvers and beat the missiles trajectory, which was almost directly at his cockpit. There's not many SAM missiles that aim at the cockpit. So this really could have been a real world test of a new technology. Most missiles for plane destruction heat seek toward the engines. Some by radar try to find center mass on the plane. This missile apparently AI toward cockpit.

Looks like it's the same thing happened to flight AF447 in June 09 with a missile sent from Kourou airbase in French Guyane. A spanish pilot on the Lima Madrid flight saw the missile come down on the plane but there was a storm and black clouds obscuring the ground so he didn't see the rise of the missile.
