  • Huge radiohead fan. Love this cover.

  • I can't handle how much more melodic this song is.

No offense, he's got a good voice and the arrangements are unexpected and great.

but I personally don't feel it.

  • Oh. My. God.

  • Was a little skeptical at first, but once second verse kicked in, it blew me away! I prefer Radiohead's version, but this is awesome.

  • Obadiah Parker continues to astound me with their brilliance

  • Very lovely.

  • The legendary discussions about the meaning of the term "cover" are such a bore...

  • Bloody hell, I didn't expect this when I clicked on it. So different but fantastic, good job!

  • SRANJE!!!!

  • maaaaaaaaannnnnnn...what a great job!!!!! congratulations, you rule!!

  • from a huge fan of radiohead... i love it!!! win !!! (Y)

  • Great job guys! I'm pretty sure many people came here to see an exact copy of Radiohead's work and may be disappointed. But you made it like your own. Just wish the quality of video and sound was better.

  • if anyone can watch my cover too, that's be great. it's a pretty odd cover i think

  • What are the odds they ate at that Quiznos afterwards?

  • Well Done, seen this years ago and I still watch it!

  • yes it is cool!

  • Fantastic to see people putting a twist on an already twisted song.

  • Lol dude playing bass was gettin down

  • Grizzly fukin adams lololol

  • Love it!! Love everything I've heard - so awesome!

  • good job

  • YEAH!!

  • great cover

  • very powerful voice, unfortunately the chorus did not work out as well as the rest of the song

i like this cover and i always find it good when people cover theyr more experimental songs like idioteque or kid a

  • Epic beard (and quite good cover)

  • nice arrangement, great interpretation, guitar bass and piano are brilliant, but i'm sorry, the vocals were atrocious. killed one of my favourite songs. normally i'm all for song covers being original and unventive, but this guy's voice went so badly with it... and please don't shoot me down for having an opinion :)

  • Who knows the original of this song from Dave Clarke's Wold Service Mix-CD, too?

  • terrible cover

  • ORRENDA.

  • Great rendition.

  • I love this bear. He´s great

  • At first I thought - what the fuck is this? They've totally destroyed it! But then I saw the passion, and the determination that the singer was putting into this performance. While it pehaps doesn't give off quite as intense a message as Thom Yorke's haunting warnings, this is still a very good cover.

  • Muzak to my ears......

  • great!!!!!!! does anybody got the guitar chords?

  • @trashtramboli E G C .. repeat

  • This proves that if you cover the song the right way, it'll come out like this.

  • @SweetMatheson what? amazing?

  • the bass player cracks me up. 120 lbs. of raw soft rock power

  • that's perhaps the most awesomest INTERPRETATION of that song besides the original!

    Well done guys!

  • This is a really interesting interpretation of the song; it worked nicely. I feel like it could have used some drums though...

  • C'est incroyable incroyable incroyable incroyable!! :-)

  • Great interpretation of this song! A cover shouldnt be a exactly copy from the original, this one sounds quite good and still keeps the character! Thumbs up!

  • Wow, I never would've thought Idioteque could sound like this... but by utilising an acoustic guitar and a completely different vocal style to Thom's, Obadiah Parker has blown my preconceptions out of the water.

  • this is actually really, really fucking good....

  • The bass player is on acid

  • Idioteque is my second favourite song of all time. I truly appreciate what Obadiah Parker are able to do with most songs they cover, and this one is no exception. A good cover changes around the sound of the song without making it something it's not, and this is exactly what they've done with Idioteque.

  • I think a lot of people fail to see what this is. You take a hugely production based band like radio head and cover it with acoustic instruments? That's fucking impressive, and just as powerful in itself.

Btw i realize that the bass and the piano are electric but i meant acoustic based. Obviously they wont be out there with a grand piano and a stand up....

  • This is a ballsy song to cover. These guys have a good take on a pretty legendary song.

  • COME ON MAN!!! I was looking for the energy and tempo of IDIOTEQUE!! u effed it up for me and everyone else... not saying you are not talented but we wanted the real one.........

  • Comment removed

  • @jbudd if you wanted the real one then why search or listen to a cover? surely just download or listen to idioteque? :L

  • @AaronCooper123 thats exactly what I did after wasting my time with your intro, thanks!!! BTW there are many covers on here that ROCK it. I thought yours was one... I was mistaken sorry

  • @jbudd Its not my cover btw :P i understand that its not the same as the original and the original is a lot better, but it just seemed silly to say you wanted the real one when your watching a cover, which of course is going to have an original twist on it otherwise you might as well listen to the original.

  • @AaronCooper123 I think people often get confused between the terms cover and tribute. I'm fairly certain there isn't an official definition for cover. I've met just as many people who expect a cover band to sound just as much like the original as possible as I have the opposite................ Probably just a matter of how it was defined first for anyone in particular. This guy has a great voice... too bad they aren't really out making music as popular as Radiohead:/

  • @jbudd If you wanted the real one, go listen to it, you fucking retard. If it's a cover, it's obviously not going to be the real one.

  • anyone else notice this is the song for this video, its not just out of sync its the wrong song

  • Just the fact that they found a way to replicate a sample-heavy song using traditional instruments is impressive to me. The fact that the lead singer has the best facial hair this side of Zack Galifanakis helps too.

  • awesome... very good cover... u all should go and listen to radiodread by easy all stars

  • very poppy, but i still liked it a lot

  • fucking brilliant

  • This is exceptional, really brings out the songs hidden passion.

  • loved that piano intro(was it one) and first 20 seconds and i loved it good work

  • Does OP Only do Covers? lol all the songs ive heard so far have all been covers

  • GREAT cover. <----Radiohead fan

  • So much hate for such an utterly amazing cover.

  • completly murdered the song...i dont like this version at all

  • @pedromiguel0007 its a lot better than your version....

  • @bmac8322 oh...im sorry for having an opinion

  • I'm a HUGE Radiohead fan. They're definitely one of my favourite bands (especially with regards to live performances) and I think this cover is does the original justice. I always appreciate when a band takes a risk and puts a totally new spin on an old song. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. In this case, I think it really does. I still prefer the original, but this one IS cool! Come on

  • @danthemimicoman I don't want to burden youtube with the amount of times I hit like to your comment, so I'll reply instead. That is the EXACT sentiment that I feel.

  • Also a Radiohead fan. I think I would've liked this song had I not known the original. Knowing how the song is supposed to be keeps me from enjoying this version. This is not because it's different, but because it is, in my opinion, an inferior vehicle of expression. The words and the music don't fit together, as well, and Matt's voice is not as suited to the song.

  • @dynamitewalls - I'm one of the biggest Radiohead fans ever, followed them since the Bends and seen them live countless times, and I LOVE this cover. The purpose of a cover should be to bring something different to a song, and Obadiah Parker has done that masterfully. Just like he did with Hey Ya....

  • This man is glorius!!! I like the way how he singing!!!!! Its realy amazing!

  • big radiohead fan, specifically of this album. but i think im ok with this cover

  • Matt Weddle has the amazing ability of taking a shit song and making it awsome.

  • @odinp you have the amazing ability of taking a limp dick and making it slide down your throat.

  • @2323jgrant spoken like a true radiohead fan.

  • @odinp You truly do suck limp dick dont you???

  • @odinp OMFG are you insinuating that radiohead's idioteque is a shit song???? SERIOUSLY??? obviously you are tone deaf and have no fucking clue what music, rythm, and talent are all about....

  • For all the die-hard radiohead fans; remember the words of thom Yorke: Different bands, different styles, different sounds. I like both versions, because they are both different. This one sounds more like its a proggressing story, rather than remembering an event, like the original. Just my opinion of course, but this is a nice, classy take on the original.

  • I am a RadioHead fan and l think, in my most honest opinion, that this cover... IS FUCKING EXCELLENT!!!!!

  • @amazingonion what kind of radiohead fan spells radiohead 'RadioHead'. and yes, i hate this cover

  • The Broadway version =).

Haha, not bad in its own light.

  • It's unnerving to hear this without percussion, at first listen, but it really is quite good.

  • the hey ya cover he did was wicked but common he butchered a radiohead classic! i mean its okay but nowhere near the original

  • I don't like this cover, sorry

  • first time hearing this man, what a voice he has!!!

  • One of the extremely rare Radiohead covers, that is not only good... but I have to say utterly brilliant...!

  • Comment removed

  • That is the beet song I have heard performed outside a Quiznos.

  • Is this Tempe, AZ?

  • You my friend, are the king of covers

  • i shouldnt be saying this but i love radiohead so much but i think this version is actual better :S his voice is pure amazment!

  • Excellent and totally creative cover. So different from the original but still maintains the pacing and melody that makes it so great.

  • @joe3710 It's like they took the same song, lost all of its perspective, added a bunch of cheese, and a couple of yeahs. What makes it so bad is he has no idea what he's singing about.

  • @ThomYorkesHead They did take the same song. Its a cover, man. The lyrics are all over the place, I'll give you that. However, I think you're looking for way too much here. It is a creative cover. It is sung very well. The musicians are all capable. They add a twist to it that makes it different and unique, and not just a no surprises copy of the original. If what you look for in a cover is to mimic the original exactly, just listen to the original itself dude.

  • @ThomYorkesHead By the way, in case you're wondering, Radiohead is my favorite band of all time. I'm in no way saying this cover is better than, worse than, or equal to the original. It is simply different and, I feel, very well done.

  • @ThomYorkesHead

I've seen Radiohead performing live about ten times, got all (and a whole lot more) their cd s, 15 (un)official dvd s and heard literally hundreds of terrible Radiohead-covers and I really have to say this is one of the best I ever heard.

Best covers aren't exact copies, but extinguishable interpretations of the original... and Obadiah Parker succeeds in doing such in a utterly delightful way

  • @ThelemicMagick They don't understand the song they are covering. The piano solo at the beginning is just absurd. Then he tries to sound all urgent and sad and introspective. "Here I'm allowed everything all of the time" is not a moment of introspection. I don't want an exact copy, I want something with a little perspective.

  • @ThomYorkesHead He's singing it the way he FEELS it. He doesn't have to understand anything.

  • @ThomYorkesHead

It's not meant to be sarcastic, but now you really made me curious which Radiohead-covers you DO like (if possible, not the really good, but kinda obvious ones examples like O'Riley, Easy Star All Stars, etc)

  • @ThelemicMagick I like Gnarls Barkley's cover of Reckoner. A French street band's cover of Airbag.

  • Can I plz get the mp3 for this? A stereo one preferably plz? All the video to mp3 converters gave me a crap quality one.

  • @m3ntoZ There is a live album floating around with a great quality version of this on it. I believe its on Itunes if anything.

  • @joe3710 Alright, thanks so much. I got it :)

  • Love the Quizno's sign in the background.

  • Radiohead is my favourite band man. Makes me happy that you did this so well :) Although I would like it better without the piano.

  • Absolute shit

  • Comment removed

  • 10 times better than the original

  • nice cover... we went a different way with ours.. check it out.

  • loose the piano!

  • they didnt make it "pop", they made it acoustic and did an amazing job at it

  • i listened to the version by radiohead then this and i have to say...this sounds 10 times better just by first impression of both songs.

  • @ALLTHETIME43 listen to the original again. Lol

  • @exrkun91 eh dont really need to

  • @ALLTHETIME43 Yes! lol. You do! :P

  • @exrkun91 not really but you have got to admit this guys hey ya cover is incredible

  • @ALLTHETIME43 .............mmmmmm. No. it's not. I mean, I don't think it is but I don't like most covers so maybe that makes me a bigot.

  • @exrkun91 ha ok its ur opinion. i think its awsome but whatever

  • It is interessting how easy it is to hear and espacially to feel if a musician is good or not. an these musicians are definetly awesome!

thanks for increasing the quality of my life!

  • Did you just try making a song from "Kid A" a pop song?

  • @anatomyofluke Musical rape, no?

  • horrid!

made the song into pure cheese!

  • holy shit this is fucking awesome

  • This is why you dont talk shit to the keyboardist ahhaa

    soooo nicee

btw, did 87 of you guys click the thumbs down by accident ?

  • savaged, raped, americanised. Dude, you should try doing some counting crows covers or something.

  • @skittlesjc ditto

  • Daniel is like doing his own thing the whole song lmao

  • :0 till 4:31 is the best bit

  • I don't mean to sound rude, but are there any RADIOHEAD fans who actually like this cover? I mean I really hated this. But that's just like, my opinion man.

  • @dynamitewalls I'm a huge Radiohead fan, never heard of Obadiah Parker before, and I really liked this cover.

  • @dynamitewalls show me a better cover dude ...

  • @zrissl The best cover I've ever heard is by a guy named Levi Weaver. He does it solo by using delays and loop pedals. Much better than this cover.

  • @zrissl If you like this cover, it might be you are a little slow. Just sayin'. Planting seeds.

  • @dynamitewalls if your close minded... its a cover dude, their take on the song. I thought it was actually interesting and different.

  • @dynamitewalls I like it.

  • @dynamitewalls perhaps 'cause you don't know the meaning of "cover"

  • @dynamitewalls

    So yes then.

Adds a something special to an already special tune. so win on all fronts :)

  • @dynamitewalls Yeah well this aggression will not stand, man

  • @outpost233 I'm glad at least one person got my reference!

  • @dynamitewalls big lebowski?

  • this is the greatest cover of idioteque from radiohead. its the best! Damn its good^^

  • wow. this is amazing, im glad you are the one covering this song, i dont think anybody else has enough talent to, or they dont have the balls to do it, but you really pulled it off and did a great job man. respect!

  • @exrkun91 whats the point in a cover like that? why not just listen to the original? this is a true cover, putting your own spin on the song or changing the emphasis to get a different mood from the song. hes being creative rather than repetative.

  • @pieman4545 I'll agree, you have a point there.

  • it's a cover...not them trying to be radiohead...if they just played it that way then people would say they couldn't be original

  • Not bad. Lacks the urgency and drama of the original interpretation. But Hey Ya...what a beauty that cover is!

  • Man,awesome voice

  • wow epic butchering of a great song

  • Love it!

  • good video.

  • Just because he can't sing all falcetto doesn't mean it's more shallow than the original, it's music which means open to interpretation.

  • "So much better than the original"??? This sucks anus!!! ...... A great cover would be when someone puts in the effort to sequence, add an actual kit, and synth like Radiohead does.

But, fine, it's an interpretation, whatever.

  • @exrkun91 Angry much?

  • @tblack2628 :]

  • gotta admit it isn't near as good as the original....but gotta give these guys credit, it comes pretty fucking close, they made it their own, and he has a great voice.....chillin

  • sorry to everyone thinks that this is amazing, i have to disagree. He got rid of any deepness that the original had. It sounds too..pop for me now.

  • Its not better, worse or whatever - its different- like it or dont! Thats the freedom music has and brings!

    Stop the flamers

I like this version very much BTW!

  • very awesome job sir! really nice!

  • best acoustic cover i ever heard

  • Lmao @ people who think this is better than the original. These guys took a fantastic, distinctive song and turned it into generic acoustic pop. WOW, GREAT JOB.

  • Its a cover of course its not better but its definetly not worse. This guy is a great musican and I enjoy his sound. Its a must hear when your baked.

  • so much better than the original. obadiah is such a great musician and he just brings a different type of intensity to the song. this is really impressive

  • @natesrry Could you give a more predictable response? Fuck you and fuck your mother, asshole.

  • @natesrry I now feel sorry for you because you're obviously a dullard who's only recourse to a comment he doesn't like is to make homophobic slurs. I guess I should not have expected any more from someone who actually thinks this is a good cover. ....wait.... "fag" right?

  • @slutbunwallah1 queer

  • @natesrry haha, thats just funny

  • @slutbunwallah1 gay fag

  • that voice could make a woman squirt.
