For the ridiculous price of an AUG you can buy 2 different AR platforms. I got 2 rock rivers, one an LAR-15 Elite Operator 2 (.223) and a LAR-458 mid-length A4 Operator (.458) for long distance shooting. Plus if one goes down the most parts are interchangeable.

lol cod speaks a load of balls all the guns have completely different elements compared to each other than that of the real guns for example in cod waw the mp40 dose more dmg than the Thompson yet the mp40 fires 9mm and the m1a1 Thompson fires a .45 and in mw2 all the 5.56 weapons have different dmg and range when in real like (excluding long barrelled rifles) all 5.56 rifles will do around the same range and damaged and the p90 is not an smg its a pdw... lol theres alot of other things too xD

lol cod speaks a load of balls all the guns have completely different elements compared to each other than that of the real guns for example in cod waw the mp40 dose more dmg than the Thompson yet the mp40 fires 9mm and the m1a1 Thompson fires a .45 and in mw2 all the 5.56 weapons have different dmg and range when in real like (excluding long barrelled rifles) all 5.56 rifles will do around the same range and damaged and the p90 is not an smg its a pdw... lol theres alot of other things too xD

Personally Id feel much more safe carrying an M14 over an AK,M16, or AUG. seriously if troops were carrying this little gun in WWII they would have been slaughtered - Hell id gladly prefer the 10 shot bolt action Lee Enfield

@Kamerad792 Accurate to 200 yards is absolutely false. While it may appear to be toy-sized in dimensions, the barrels are standard length and very well made. Effective range for the assault rifle variant is about 475 meters...or 600 yards.

@Kamerad792 Get over it man, WWII was 70 years ago, we're no longer fighting on battlefronts, so stop bringing up how an M1 shoots further than an Austeyr. Nowadays we have insurgencies so we need rifles capable of CQC and fast firing. The Austeyr serves it's purpose because it's light weight and fairly compact and does its job well, if it didn't the ADF wouldn't be using it. So go back to daydreaming about "if I was in Normandy...".

Does not matter - fighting in the deserts over there can bring long ranges! I have talked with an Iraq war veteran who served 2 tours there - he told me the m16 is a piece of fucking shit(his words) and he grabbed himself an m14 which was much better. Ive been firing weapons for 12 years,I gave a reason why I think its shit - its round and size,Id be scared going into battle carrying that rifle! M14 was the last real battle rifle - look what the commander of the Army mountain troops said "M14 is not like a puny m16,its a rifle that will knock your enemy down with 1 shot!" The soldiers carrying the AUG even complained heavily about its small round - look it up

It has a standard sized barrel, it's a pull pup design which means the receiver and action are behind the firing hand making it look smaller, it's suited for close quarters, not long ranger skirmishes. You may have been firing rifles for 12 years, but have you fired a Steyr let alone any bullpup design rifle?
