"No",I did not sign off on the sworn statements. I did sign a form requiring my OK of every sworn statement for the actual approval of the builder;so,for every SS I did not sign, the builder was not approved to be paid. I did not see ANY of these SS's until I put a halt to the operation when I found payment for nonexistent work. The question is N/A since the max overage is 5%, and ONLY at the banks discretion. A 1.5 year search for this paperwork and the $2500 change order has yielded nothing.
I do know a couple honest realtors, although when I submitted an ethics complaint against Ms. Timm, the Alpena Realtors Ethics board refused to even investigate.
I contacted corporate Re-Max. Their response was essentially a shoulder shrug.
Hopefully resolution will come quickly. It would be nice to see Fifth Third respond to this video. Though the situation is horrible, nice satiric response through youtube.
This is ridiculous! Fifth-Third needs to do something to make this right. I wonder how many other people they did this to? I know some folks that work for Chase and I am going to forward this on to them. Maybe they can use it for marketing against Fifth-Third
We are a graduate class viewing your video as part of our analysis for consistent customer service. We are curious to hear if FTB followed up with you or if any other action has been taken since your video. Please let us know. Thanks.
We also had our construction loan through Fifth Third. For us, a Fifth Third representative always verified materials and work done by the contractor with not only the appraisor but also us, the owner. Why did they not do this for this family? Admit your mistake, Fifth Third, and make this right. Not only will we not do business with you again, we will tell others what you are doing to this family (unless you make this right). We are considering moving our loan.
Fifth-Third Bank should be ashamed of themselves. Someone was asleep at the wheel when they approved payment for these items! Admit your mistake, Fifth-Third, and do what's right to help this guy out.

I see Re/Max is involved in this too. Doesn't surprise me, I've never met a real Estate Agent that doesn't lie.
