  • You are lucky to have been unplugged from the Matrix.

  • @xXSparky117Xx Indeed.

  • woo very good!

I always had that confusion about "kudasai" and "kure".

  • at the end you said " stop this so i can eat the pee" HAHAHAHA FUNNY Thanks for the vid great japanese info.

  • Very cool, thank you for the added information on this!

  • Ok you won me over......im subscribing.

  • Gimmie - another good way is "choudai"

I've been busy lately but I've gotta get in on these Japanese for morons things. good response man.

    Peace

  • Funny thing, when I made this I couldn't ever remember using choudai, but today I found myself using it whenever I wanted to seem "cute". Go figure. :-)

  • great vid man. vids/lessons on everyday japanese is really hard to find.

  • Next trick is to go out and find a way to use it. ;-)

Say I noiced you featured a vid from my other channel. Many thanks! I rendered that video back before YouTube went 16:9 HD. After YouTube went full 1280x720 19:6 HD, I re-rendered a couple songs from that night, MbbavMAjr1Y and wo3LCiGRSFw.

  • Now I want pizza!! I have yet to try potato on pizza that seems so popular in Japan.

  • There are many things on pizza in Japan that were never meant to be on pizza. Corn, potatoes, tuna fish, and mayonaise just to name a few. But hey, whatever floats your boat, go for it. ;-)

  • I had a mayo and potato pizza... interesting flavor indeed.

    @colors

What does tasuketekure mean? Same word? Or a different one. Does that mean gimmie help, like the common form of tasuketekudasai? J-speak is suddenly becoming clearer... Great response! If I wasn't already subscribed, I'd subscribe now, lol.

  • Yes, I think you've got the idea.

    Tasukete kudasai means please help.

    Tasukete kure means HEEEEELP!!!!

  • booty call!

  • booty mail?

  • so if i want to mug someone ...

    お前の金をくれ!

    Thanks for the lesson :)

  • 金をくれ

    or

    金をよこせ

would do it. I think you've got the idea down perfect.

  • Dudeee.. Pizza hut is "Pizza Hut" in nihon? o.0

  • If you wrote out the romaji I guess it would be:

    piza hatto

  • omoshiroi desu.

  • Nice video bro, very interesting to learn about the difference. The Japanese language sounds so cool, it seems like alot of fun to learn it one day. Is it fairly easy to start out with??

  • Easy? No. :-)

  • やめてくれ! I liked how you brought victors channel name into this. nicely done.

  • Heh. That was not even my intention at the beginning. Then it hit me in the middle. :-)

  • yes im back... got my computer fixed and router back. i can now watch all the videos i been missing.. does wendys in japan deliver too? that fast food joint?? pizza hut is awesome

  • Long time no see! Been wondering where you are?

Wendy's does not deliver. Burger places generally do not. Chinese places often do though.

  • 日本語教えてくれ!

  • 教えてやるよ♪

    (笑)

  • Damn up to now i thought Kure meant Please and that it was to Kudasai.

    Kamben Shite Kure yo

I thought it ment : Please forgive me man...

    Or

    Beer wo kure

    Beer Please

    Anyway... :P

  • Well if you're a man ordering a beer, and you want to come across as overly macho, then Kure can work just fine.

  • I was always fascinated by the male phenomenon of changing the 'ai' or 'oi' bot since there's no 'we' sound in Japanese, how would it work with a word like 'Yowai'?

  • 'ai' or 'oi' bot?

    Not quite following you, sorry.

  • meant to say 'but', typo

  • i think yuki is talking about guys saying yabe instead of yabai or kuse instead of kusai. i think with yowai one might just drop the i (よわっ) かなぁ~

  • Ah I see.

よわっ!(Yowa!) would be like, saying you're so weak in a shocked way.

If you wanted to say it in a somewhat masculine but Oh My Gaaaawd sort of way, it would sound something like よえええ!(Yoeee!)

There actually are "we" and "ye" kana, but they're deprecated. Almost never used. Yebisu the beer is written using the "ye" kana: ヱビス

  • I like the square cartoon eyes, with the square pupils.

    :)

  • Heh. I keep forgetting to put porn up on the monitor.

  • you are one funny sucka. ahaaaaaaaaa! that cell phone knocked the cool out of your rhythm huh...awesome vid

  • At least it wasn't mum calling!

  • that was funny..you like forgot what you was gonna say! damn i woulda thrown the phone...

  • Guess that all depends on who's phoning and calling, and whether or not you really want to kill your cheapass phone.

  • OH my goodness, I want your shirt James. I remember those signs at the train stations. Except the girl still had a head hahaha. Where can I get one? Keep in mind I am coming to Tokyo next month.

  • Damn, alright. There's got to be a way I can dig up the designer....

  • Alright, I gotta give up on that for tonight. I shot "How to get to the T-Shirts Love Summit" just before and after I bought the shirt but didn't mention who I bought it from. I found the old page listing all the participants and checked all their pages but can't find this shirt. And the next t-shirt love summit is May 2,3 and I'm playing at an all night event on May 2nd. I'll ask about but I gotta say, ah dunno. Sorry, man.

  • Ahh thanks for trying James, no sweat.

  • Men use it ,too.

それ、ちょうだい Sore choudai. something like that.

  • Ah, okay. That makes sense too.

If/when my little lesson on choudai/kure goes up on gimmeaflakeman, feel free to respond/protest. Funny thing is, once you develop a gut feeling for things you lose the ability to explain them properly.

  • What about "choudai"? Doesn't that also mean "give me", sort of?

  • Yep, that one's out there too.

Long story short, it's what girls use when they want something from guys. Gimmeaflakeman deserves the credit for that explanation. All I could remember is that I'd never used it and it felt girly.

  • We use 'choudai' . Choudai is more casual. Kudasai is more polite.

  • Is choudai ever used by men? It feels cute or girly somehow. Sure I know what it means, but I can't ever remember using it.

  • Very cool shirt.

  • Bugging the heck out of me that I can't remember which design shop I bought it from. Lots of indie tshirt designers in Japan.

  • I goofed! I meant... ONEGAISHIMASU / KUDASAI!

Excellent! Short and to the point.

    I will reference this soon!

    Perfect!

I'll add this to the playlist!

  • Heh, no sweat. It's all good. I was looking at the title when I was making this rather than listening, so I goofed too. ;-)

    Glad you liked it!
