  • simple amazing!

  • how can you get that shallow dof with a 1/4 sensor?!

  • @wonderwall135 The only way to do it is to use a 35mm film adapter like the Letus Mini. This is how i achieved it. Just google letusdirect

  • Ooh I like this. I am thinking about getting it now. Thanks :)

  • @iihaleyii wait. don't buy it. the only reason he can achieve those shallow depth of field shots is with the letus mini dof adapter. it will NOT look like the video without it.

  • What is Letus Mini?

  • @gapacgapac

    Just google Letusdirect

You will see what the Letus mini looks like

  • No grading at all. Just raw footage from the camera. There may have been some in camera stuff going on, It terms of the gamma curves etc.

  • Did you put any effects on it?

  • No i rack focus with the slr lens.

  • did you do the rack focus with the JVC?

  • fx1000 or this camera, real hard choice especially since my pc isn't the best at handling avchd.....

  • TELL ME, Canon T2i, Letus Mini, or sell and buy a 7D rig?

  • Thanks man. I figured it might be something as simple. Nice shots!

  • Yes you have to buy a step down ring. I had a 46mm to 43mm. They cost around $10. Got mine at B&H

  • did u use any adapter rings to fit the letus mini? The hm100u has a 46mm ring, but i couldn't find anything to fit that on the letus website? please fill me in. thanks

  • I'm trying to decide whether to get this camera or the panasonic AG-HMC150, which has 1/3" CCD sensors. How much picture quality or low light proficiency am I forfeiting with the JVC's 1/4" sensors?

  • @CHANDSOME Very good question. I cant imagine that there is much difference in it. I never really struggled too much with this camera as i always seem to shoot outdoors. I was drawn to this camera mainly for the XD cam codec it uses. It was great for me as i use FCP and thats the native language of the JVC. I really dont know much about the Panasonic Ag-HMC 150, so sorry.

I no longer have this camera as i upgraded to a Sony EX1R. Now thats a great little camera!

  • Such a nice camera! Thanks alot for making this lovely little film!

  • great camcorder !!

Has there been any post effects applied in some of the parts of this video or maybe all of it ? I Want to know if these are the real colors of the camera.

  • @leefuji Yes i believe i did a little color correction when i edited this video. Nothing too drastic, Just a bit of over saturation and crushed the blacks a bit.

But its mainly the Letus mini which gives it the overall film look.

    Thanks for watching

  • @danmartland thanks !!

  • I'm looking for a new camera and that footage and quality is awesome bro! You mind telling about how much you paid for that package?

  • @Qanone1 The camera was just over $3000 when i bought it but you can get it cheaper these days. And the letus mini was just over a $1000 without the lenses.

It can be an expensive hobby.

  • does anyone now exactly how to import files into adobe CS4 premiere? i cant seem to figure it out

  • Thanks.I found the site B&H.I love this camera.:)

  • Price there?I'm from Romania(Europe). This camera here is about 3400$.

  • @gheparduleo Its about $2700 here in the states.

Check out the B&H website for all camera needs and prices. Googlr B&H

  • @danmartland yes, but B&H deliver camera only to US adress.... a little problem.

For this camera. I am from Slovenia(Europe).

  • auto focus and manual?

  • @gheparduleo Always manual as i am a professional camera man

  • so:32 gb sdhc=3 hours in full hd????

  • @gheparduleo I used 16GB class 6 cards and i got about an hour on each card in Full 1080 60i

  • softwre editor?

  • @gheparduleo Final cut Pro Studio

This camera is made for it!

  • Amazing. I am just buying a new camera and camera like that : JVC GY HM100U is 2.700 $. I dont know if i will buy it, but it is very nice.

Can i ask you, where did you bought this camera and what was the price...

  • Couldnt stop watching.. It looks amazing. Seems well worth the price although it is pretty up there. I am currently trying to get into broadcasting and hopefully make my way to film. I love editing and shooting. What camera would you recommend to start off?? what did you start off with?

  • @boricuaboy8 Id recommend buying something like a sony EX1R. It has great features and has all the controls the larger cameras have. Still alot of cash but a great investment. Good luck with everything, stick with it, and thanks for the kind comments.

  • loved it!! amazing video, editing is perfect. you should contact JVC to upload your video or B&H...

how much for the letus mini?

  • @Interworkingmovies Many thanks, thats very kind of you. The letus mini with rails go for about $1300 and then you have to add the lenses. I bought mine on Craigslist used for $800 with lenses.

Thanks again for you kind words, nice to know that someone is watching my videos.

  • Just freaking awesome!

  • AWESOME HORSE

  • Awesome shots and great editing. The JVC GY HM100U with Letus Mini is definitely a killer combination. You should be commisioned by JVC to publish this. It probably pays off better than any promo commercial.

  • Great test shots. Just the proof I needed. I am getting this from B&H TODAY! I record with kids for a school news program and I want a small camera that will get beautiful video without intimidating non-actors! Thanks for taking the time to post this material for us, send a link to JVC and tell them to give you a check!!

  • @volvokid60 Thanks for you kind words in regards to my Video. Really wish JVC would send me a cheque... now that would be nice! Good luck with the camera. I think B&H have got a special deal on at the moment. Possibly $250 off and a free JVC/Kata bag. If not there try tekserv on 23rd

  • great shots great cam!

  • The song in this video is a music bed found in Soundtrack Pro, part of the final cut studio.

  • wat song

  • Thanks and keep up the great work.

  • Beautiful stuff. Do you need an adapter to mount the letus to the cam or is it a straight fit?

  • For my camera i needed to buy a step down ring to match the threads on the letus. 46mm-43mm. Think it cost me $8 from B&H. And then it screws right on. I also use the rails for extra support.

  • Awesome.
