We had the then third rusher ever to run for over 2000 yards (in 15 games, too). We had arguably the greatest QB of all time and one who's in everyone's top 5 at the very least. We had the greatest undrafted player of all time (Rod Smith-WR) and the greatest TE of all time (Shannon Sharpe). We also had probably the best O-line of all time too. Our OLB's? Bill Romanowski and John Mobely.
We opened our season 13-0, crushed a team in the superbowl that went 14-2 (98 Falcons, featured here) who beat a team that opened 15-0 (98 Vikings, also here; side note: I would argue that the Purple People Eater era had their better 'all-time' team than those 98 guys).
I think it would be pretty cool, and a fitting end to show the entire games. Would be a great way to finish off something that obviuosly has gained a lot of peoples attention. Great job either way!
So is the tiebreaker rule for this the same as the modern NFL playoff tiebreaker rules? And on another note, I don't know how my Falcons keep pulling these out, needing all these wins after that devastating loss against the 49ers!!!
With all of the work you put into this, I have to mention a mistake (since I haven't heard any others) for my Steelers. You called John Stallworth Donte Stallworth. Had to call you out on that! lol
Hey everyone. I've had a cold the past few days, and the latest symptom has been a loss of my voice. I've finished the next weeks' minus the voice over. In a perfect world, I get my voice back in a day or two and complete it. But I may upload the video without the voice over if my condition persists.
This is a very cool idea but extremely frustrating to watch as a Browns fan. One of the actual championship teams would have been a better choice IMO, I'd say '64 team since they had Jimmy Brown and a young Paul Warfield and Leroy Kelly.
Can you be more specific? That sounds all too vague.
I see the 85 Bears finally started winning some games. Good thing or else nobody would watch these. I still think you 'overrated' the 92 Cowboys, because you're a cowboys fan.
but glad to see you keep working on it til the end!
First, there's a scale that the original game rated players, so you look at that, and figure out what the value range for individuals is. There are many different attributes the game has, offense is easier to rate based on how it was made.
Then, you go through each team and the players, and you assign the different attributes based on statistics (team and player) as well as what you know personally about the guy. Jumble that together, and simulate the games.
I am not a Cowboys fan (Colts fan, if it really matters), but I have found through watching these is part of the reason for the Cowboys (and a few other teams) success is the playbook. Each team have different playbooks, and Dallas uses strong I runs with a lead fullback. That along with the fact that Emmitt was great makes their offense great on the game. I've noticed that a few teams with this set are doing pretty good (DAL, DEN, SEA, ATL)
Damn, My Bucs lost and are a longshot for the playoffs, since we lost to the GIants, we'd have to win all our remainders and hope for every other team in contention to lose theirs...
Broncos win the division baby, WOO! :P

Lions almost missed the Field goal in overtime
Every game in OT ends on a field goal by the team that wins the toss without the other team getting the ball
Sounds like MrNFL is not a fan of NFL Overtime

Someone needs to watch real football. Almost every game in OT in real life ends in a field goal by the team that wins the toss.

Actually, I misread the question. Tecmo uses point differential for a tiebreaker.

I wanted to stay Super Bowl era, because it's hard as hell to rate the really old teams, and it's really hard to find out player numbers and such.
MrNFL 3 years ago
so you did rate the teams?
NFLranking 3 years ago
I compared all of the statistics for each team, and then created the rosters once I determined the team.

well just keep doing it and I hope you finish it til the end. How do we know you don't reset the games if the outcome isn't what you want?

Well, you'll just have to believe my word that it is legitimate.

Hey everyone, with the playoffs approaching, I've been pondering how I would go about doing the playoffs.
I figure for the first two rounds, I do two separate highlight deals, (except much more in-depth, like 2 minutes a game)
But for the Conference Finals/Super Bowl, do you think I should post the entire game?
MrNFL 3 years ago
Maybe; it depends on how long the games are.
patriothater94 3 years ago
Maybe you can post the complete games and a highlight package separately?
TheRealJJJ 3 years ago
Yay! Steelers ROCK!! We're killing everybody! Btw, you said Dante Stallworth during the Steelers/Bengals game. I think you meant John Stallworth.
